Nobody asked for arms race… they just completely ignored the community. Why didn’t they give us actual end game content i.e. raids, circle of slaughters …

I kinda asked for arms race. I raised and commented on a whole stack of reddit posts asking for a roguelike mode of borderlands 3.

One life, randomised, explore how you want, extra enemies spawn in, random Timed mayhem modifiers, etc etc.

Instead we got arms race, which isn’t quite what I had in mind, but a solid diversion nonetheless. The rewards are mostly good and the gameplay is solid.

What it lacks is RNG, and variety in enemy encounters. Other than the murdercane steering where you go none of the spawns change in any fashion run to run.
On top of that there is no rogue-like sense of progression. Having guardian ranks unlock as each run is attempted could go a long way to balancing the mode, and I would increase the spawn chance of class mods overall, and guarantee that at least a white one spawned in the starter chest. That would go a long way towards giving the VHs their identity back, even without their Action Skills.

I’m especially enjoying the extra down time between the murdercane closing in, it actually lets me be rightly cautious when I’m going up against baddies with nothing that I don’t loot. But as good as this change is and the upcoming changes are, these things are really something that should have been added in a fix or even launched with Arms Race on day one - Not squirreled away for a limited time event before going back to being shittier.

And as good as many of the weapons/shields are, they aren’t enough of a pull to make me want to come back any more times than it takes to get Axton and Sal to stop pestering me whenever I’m on Sanctuary. If I want a Boogeyman or a Plasma Coil that bad, I’ve got a myriad of options by being on PC, and many of them don’t involve stupid murdercanes.

Wife and I are feeling some serious Buyer’s Remorse. Last season pass was great. Got this one, and while the new skill lines look fun, they’re not worth what we paid. Arms Race looked fun too, but after we played it we both agree it’s pretty much garbage.

“Oh, you found some cool legendaries? Too bad the only extraction box that isn’t in the Murdercane is on the far side of the zone. Hey, you can revive fallen partners… Unless the rez station is covered by the murdercane, or at the far side of the zone. Oh, and hey, by the way, you can’t extract items if you’re bank is full, 'kay, have fun!”

I’m glad some people are enjoying Arms race, but after the quality of the last Season Pass, we’re looking that the money we wasted on this one and feeling kind of ripped off. We’re used to getting our money’s worth in the Borderlands Franchise. Right now we’re not feeling a lot of trust or confidence. If we could get refunds, we would.

$36 dollars for season pass 2 is an entire indie game that i can play for up to thousand hours, and yet offers such little content that there is no comparison.

So no, not buying until dev actually offer decent content.

The first week was definitely the best one - you get more arms race exclusives and better weapons to use during arms race This week I did 5 runs and haven’t seen any dahl chests from air drops - there were all red, plus I don’t see the point of providing extra slots for extraction since we barely get any gear worth extracting. And from the looks of it the next week event is pretty bad too

Idk if the 1st was the best since we still have week 3 to try out. But yea it might end up being the best one.

Week 3 is gonna be interesting depending on the actual drop rate in the specific chest . If its 2+ each time , gonna be worth having the faster murdercane and top week 1 in my book

i liked the version of the mini event that expired yesterday. Played several rounds of the new one today and died consistency because the loot was crap. Found only grenades as legendary and that was it. Done with this event.

Arms Race doesn’t suck necessarily. What sucks about it is the very limited time you have to farm the chests you want. Sometimes the murdercane just completely blocks you from the start. Fix that and it’d be fine.

Arms Race is the best content theyve delivered. Plenty of room for improvement but it is still the best end game challenge the game has!

Agreed, arms race can be as fun as it can be frustrating. I just lost a god roll of a 72 plasma oil. It definitely helps if you have a group if friends to play it with. Even if you lose, at least you’ll lose with a team. My fav part of BL series.

yeah but half the time you’re not even getting the item that’s supposed to be in the chest (i never used more then 5 extractions and most where just hotsprings…)

Yea but when you have like 3 minutes to get clear across the map and then you have to fight 10 waves of enemies to open the chest it’s a bit BS.
