What’s upsetting is how Claptrap chose to protect his friends over everyone.

THEN, once it’s done, they laugh while Jack shoots him in the eye.

Sure, he’s annoying, but COME ON, YOU GUYS!

Oh well, at least I feel a little less bad about killing Nisha and A LOT LESS BAD about killing Wilhelm.

And a bit more sympathetic for Clappy.

I agree. I’ve always been more for Claptrap then against him. He’s comic relief in the purest sense, in a world populated with people constantly killing or being killed, he’s the one bumbling fool that seems to be unkillable no matter how inept he is. I’m not mandating that he be loved, just think about these events the next time you want to have a laugh at his expense.

Given that he was going to let us use Pirate Ship mode and Gun Wizard whenever we wanted, and he was technically the good guy for trying to take down Hyperion, who doesn’t want to side with him?

I’m not sure Aurelia is a very moral character. I was playing co-op with someone who played her the other day. Her lines are hilarious, but a lot of them did not sound very nice :smiley:
That said I would have liked if they had been in the cut scenes, but instead it was only the original 4 TPS VH.

And for Athena, she could have stood up for Claptrap and sided with him. The two would have had more than a slim chance against the others.

There’s also that we do not know how much we can trust Athena. At the end of TPS, in the vault, she states ‘That was when I left Jack’s employ’ Either that’s a lie of hers, or GBX did overlook that. In the Claptrap DLC she helps Jack with the Claptrap genocide (well H-Source), so obviously that statement that she left is not true.
If we assume for a moment it was a lie, this might explain why Lilith still wanted Athena killed (Lilith would/should have known both stories from Claptrap already. For once it is doubtful Claptrap would not love to tell it. And second Roland/Lilith would not allow Claptrap in Sanctuary. The knew from TPS what he is capable of and could not risk having Jack’s Fragtrap spying in Sssh-Trap mode, or going all wild in Pirate-Ship mode)

I really, REALLY despise Jack even more now that I finished the DLC, and I don’t even want to play Nisha or Wilhelm again. What a bunch of a**holes. Athena’s the only one who appears to be remotely disgusted by the whole thing.

Now I want to go play BL2 again and do the end fight about 10 times just so I can watch Jack die. Usually I let Lilith kill him, but I want to do it myself a few times now :wink:

If there’s a BL3, PLEASE leave any reference to Handsome Jack out of it. I want to forget that jerk ever existed.

I also loved this DLC I down right gave up on the game all together till this dlc came out and renewed my faith in GBX.

So back on topic.
With the exception of Gaige Jack is my favorite borderlands character and every sense right around rust commons west part of the story in BL1 in my first playthrough six years ago I have hated CL4P-TP with such a passion it is almost unnatural for one to hate a fictional character that much.

so with that being said I fully support Jacks decision to get rid of all the CL4P-TP units the only thing I wish is that 5H4DOW-TP somehow was materialize or even digi-structed out of CL4P-TP’s brain and was the last unit left.

I will not type signed as if this is some type of digital partition.

YES PLEASE. Clappy’s been my fav BL character since the beginning (although Tannis, Torgue and Axton come really close CAN YOU TELL WHAT KIND OF CHARACTERS I’M A SUCKER FOR) and TPS kinda stung a little bit, then the dlc happened and I wanted to just lie down and cry.

I honestly don’t see how he’s any more annoying or less tragic than, say, Tiny Tina, yet everybody openly welcomes her and babies her but shuns Claptrap. It doesn’t seem fair and I’d really like to see something good happen to him, in future games. He deserves it.

Its cuz he’s a robot. People can’t feel no empathy…

I do hope they keep him around, and maybe give him a hack trap upgrade so he can have different personalities, maybe even a badass Shadow trap one!

Yeah, sadly.

That said, it would be really cool if Gaige or hell even Axton, became friends with him. They have the same sense of humor and mechanical knowledge (well Gaige anyway) where they seem like the types who’d be good friends and try to upgrade him. At least give him the ability to climb stairs!

I don’t think that’s going to happen. Clap-trap being hated by everyone is the running joke of the series. I don’t think they’re going to change that now. Even after Athena tells the story of going inside Clappy, everyone still tells him to shut up and gives no real sympathy.

Eh. He’s essentially the Pikachu of Gearbox. Annoying, but somebody of equally low intelligence is out there and will love him and never want him to change.

Athena mentions she took the job because she and Janey needed money, implying that she did infact leave his employ but came back cuz she needed monies… also when Clappy has his moment and takes off before we get to shadowtrap fight is just sad between her and him…
