Kicking off Week 2 of the Borderlands' 10-Year Anniversary Event!

So i was farming these guys in a duo and we generally did runs until we got two of the item whether one each or two on one of us. We farmed tarantella did two runs got three hives. Borman nates 3 runs 4 stabbers. Road dog 2 runs 2 shotties. urist mcenforcer 2 runs 2 crossbows. Full disclosure i had the worst drop rates for these runs where I was not the one getting the drop but my coop bud was raining them down. we also farmed demoskaggon, mother of grogans and force troopers for around 20 runs each. the drop rates for these seemed much much lower ( we did actually get 1-3 in the 20 runs). I think this lower drop rate is across the board for the “random drop” rare spawns. So i think when gearbox said increased drop rates they were referring to the rare spawns that normally drop a specific item (like borman nates normally drops a stabber). But I think the other bosses that dont normally drop anything (like mother of Grogans) got an equal ‘increase’ in drop rate which amounts to a lower drop rate overall. I would have expected that the bosses that have the chance to drop a big variety of items would have the higher drop rate and not the other way around.
Either way, the bosses do drop items even though the rates are quite low in some cases. I would recommend that anyone that wants the class/grenade mods, artifacts or shields just do a normal farm so they could at least have the chance to drop good weapons as well. but the specific drop rare spawns are worth the time.

23 runs with red jabber and he has spawned every time but out of those 23 runs he only dropped 2 things. One being the suge grenade mod and the firestorm.

Are you using the luck stat? I did some testing and seem to get more when I don’t use it… Might be bugged

Luck stat? What is that? If that’s an item that can be equipped no. And just ran several more times and nothing. I get more drops from the badasses around than I do red jabber.

Edit: you mean guardian rank stat? Mine is +6.35% and I was unaware you were able to disable GR.

its nearly end of the week here in straya and the drops dont even work yet lol, no better than week 1. not impressed mate.

Same thing happened to me with red jabber. My 4 drops happened in the first 10 or so runs, after that, the next 30 or 40 runs I got nothing. The jocobs box below hin gave me more legendaries but they were not better weapons that what I had.

I’ve seen 2 drops out of 44 runs now haha. The thief jabbers and badass drop more than red jabber.

Normal/M1 last night:
Road Dog dropped the Redline shottie on 2nd run
Princess Tarantella dropped the Hive on the 1st run
Then I spent a while with Red Jabber. Over about 25 runs he dropped 4 legendary grenade modes, just not the ones I was looking for. Will go back today
These guys all spawned on every run
Was time well-spent so no complaints from me

Anyone get a deathless to drop from mother of grogans?

I am having the same results. I was on mayhem 3 and was getting no drops… Switched to normal mayhem 1 and got way better drops.

For anyone hunting this week…don’t bother with any rare spawn that’s listed to drop a random legendary…farmed each one and killed them 50 times. Some of them didn’t drop a single legendary item…others dropped 1 or 2.

Why isn’t wick and worty on the list?
Do they not count as a rare spawn?

Why is it that even on mayhem 3 with the huge loot drop increase…with my gaurdian luck maxed out at 15% and with a luck build using loaded dice…I can go days without seeing a legendary drop?

Isn’t that the point of mayhem 3 higher risk higher reward? The loot balance didn’t need to happen…just because legendaries dropped a lot doesn’t mean they are good legendaries…many of they are garbage…and the best vault hunters are looking for very specific legendaries and since there are hundreds of them it was still a grind to find the right ones… now…it’s just disappointing. It’s disappointing to kill red jabber 50 times just to see one red queen drop…mother of drogons…0 artifacts…please …undo the loot balance to mayhem levels …because the bonuses you get for the insane modifiers you deal with…just aren’t worth it

After 57 runs now red jabber isnt spawning at all lol. If anyone thinks I’m trolling feel free to add me on xbox and view my gameplay. 4 runs now where he isnt spawning… and yes the drop rates plummet after your first few runs. 2 legendary out of 57 runs GG.

I was also thinking that the drop rates seemed to be worse the more and more runs you do. But… RNG

Yeah so this week is just like last week. Drop rates are still garbage and the spawn rates aren’t much better. Playing on TVHM/M3 yesterday I killed Demoskaggon and Force Troopers at least 50 times each (I lost count after 50) and only saw a total of four legendaries between them. One from Demoskaggon, three from Force Troopers. They only spawned maybe once out of every three times that I’d load their respective maps. Hidden internal cooldown, maybe?

By contrast, I had two random legendary drops from the assorted bandit mobs just outside of Demoskaggon’s spawn area (where we fight Dumptruck) in the same period of time.

I farmed last night and he spawned all but once. Ran it over 50 times as well.

No no no not hundreds, remember? BILLIONS. This ■■■■ is a joke. As for Dynzo and the others, I farmed Red Jabber all day yesterday for probably over 500+ runs and only managed to obtain 22 grenades, It’s quite ■■■■ drop chance. Sorry but their idea on the random legendary rare spawns is ■■■■■■■ mixed up the specific ones should be harder to obtain since they could end up making some sort of whacky build now or later where as the random legendaries well, they are random not specific…common ■■■■■■■ sense? Seriously Gearbox. Oh, to also add to this I probably had 30-40 maybe even 50 runs where Red Jabber decided to be the next Team Rocket prodigy and blast off at the speed of light into the sky just like they really enjoy doing over and over again. Probably should be looked into and fixed. Yes, He flew off the map 90%+ of the time when he did do his little Team Rocket stunt.

Hey Gearbox do something about the force troopers, you messed up really bad the drop rate, I totally understand all 5 of them can drop a legendary class mod, and I get it why you made the drop to low, but you really made it waaay to low, just make them true vault hunter mode mayhem and boost theyr drop

I would believe it was just “RNG” but the first few runs where he did drop legendaries the badasses around him were dropping them like crazy.

Now they barely drop purples and sometimes blues. There is definitely something going on with the drop rates after you farm a certain area after so long.

Yeah, not disagreeing with you about that. But… why?
