I donā€™t expect them to do anything about these REALLY unfair lore challenges. They didnā€™t when we all threw a fit over some of them for the Open Beta, and NOT A SINGLE ONE was changed since the Open Beta, either.

Now that the full game is released, itā€™s even MORE unlikely weā€™ll see any sweeping changes to lore challenges, due to logistical issues, such as:

  • What to do with players who have the challenge partially completed.
  • We would make people who did it the hard way mad.
  • Probably some other ones Iā€™m too tired to think of right now lol.

I personally HATE PVP - I did NOT buy this game to be FORCED to play PVP content - I am quite happy with Story Missions Gearbox, and DESPISE being forced to go kill other players to unlock thingsā€¦

ā€¦Iā€™ve only tried a few times. My connection is usually VERY good, and Iā€™m quite often the first to ā€œjoin the matchā€, so Iā€™ve gotten Galilea each time, but no Ambrasā€¦

I personally love both Ambra and Galilea, but I would NEVER play Ambra in PVP - I donā€™t need someone berzerker rushing me every flipping game ffs lolā€¦

Apparently this Lore Challenge is getting Copy/pasted onto Alani.
Not sure if that helps or hurts Galilea Lore Completion or if itā€™s just lazy.
Regardless, Assists should count if they are going to make teaming Alani with Galilea versus Ambra a thing or else poaching will be an issue for frustration as well.

This is one of the worst lore ā€œchallengesā€ in the game. Its a terrible design and more reliant on luck than skill.

I just felt so proud I had to say this somewhere. I GOT IT. Me and my girl used gali (her) and Alani (me) and in two matches I went up 20 Ambra kills :smiley: Needless to say, one match was a stomping ground. But they combo really well with the stuns, aoe, and overall high damage.
Hint for it, (I know it sucks but if yourā€™e going to try anyway and there happens to be an ambra) get the Dot on her riptide (Slow may be tempting to counteract her movement speed bonus, but the knockback and high damage destroys her shield and ruins her escape). Go with the flow, obviously. Hit her with an ult every time you land a geyser. To land, place under her while sheā€™s attacking you - if youā€™re lucky she wonā€™t make it out aand her range isnā€™t great anymore. Then riptide while sheā€™s in bubble. Even though sheā€™s airborne, the dots will still shrek her pretty badly. Ult if you havenā€™t already. And basic every chance you get.
I know the odds of facing an ambra, particularly a lower skill one than you, are slim. But you never know. I wasnā€™t expecting that at all. And it happened.

However, the lore is still poorly done. Hers, Galiā€™s, Whiskey, and Tobyā€™s ult one. They all need fixing. But hey, if you can get it, do :smiley:

Took me like a month to get this ā– ā– ā– ā– . The main problem is that most good players will protect their Ambra, especially knowing thereā€™s a Gals/Alani on the other team. Also, the overshield -> run away with +30% movement speed makes it a bitch to finish her off, even if do you get the jump on her when no one is around to 2v1 you. This must be GBXā€™s way of repenting for making Gals so strong back in the betas :sweat_smile:

I would really like to read the lore, but I hate PVP to begin with, and am NEVER going to complete this one.

I helped a friend get the Addonexus challenge after talking with some other folks about it. We found out that the easiest place is at the last set of Waves in the Renegade.

Take gear that increases skill damage, and take the Exploding Blade rush, and the one that deals more damage the farther it travels. and basically aim it at a group of either primal or evolved thrall that appear at the 2 landing pads outside of where Caldarius is located.

First run out and he got the lore challenge.

Adding again that Iā€™ve been doing this challenge practically since the day it came out and still havenā€™t finished. Ambra players are even less common these days. Iā€™ve had an easier time with Alani (even though Iā€™ve been working on hers since she was released for season pass holders and beta players and only have gotten to 15), I believe because itā€™s easier with a ranged character. Galilea is still at 5. This is ridiculous. Even averaging about 6-12 kills a game with Galilea, which I believe constitutes being a decent player with her, still no dice.
A challenge shouldnā€™t solely be based on luck or having to plead with opposing Ambras for free kills. 25 times is simply too much, Gearbox.

Gearbox knows. In the next patch, which should be coming this week or next, theyā€™re tweaking a lot of the lore challenges and have specifically mentioned that theyā€™re fixing the ā€œKill X characterā€ lores by reducing the number required to 5 and having both kills and assists count for credit. Youā€™ll still have to get lucky finding an Ambra on the other side, but it shouldnā€™t be too hard to get 5 kills/assists in a single game (also, if the patch drops, I think theyā€™re keeping your existing credit so youā€™ll probably long in to see that youā€™ve got the lore challenge done when it drops).

Thank you - I heard rumors about this but I never found the thread. Last I heard they were thinking about reducing to 10 but decided it would cause too many issues.

Now itā€™s worse. I had killed ambra 15 times and with the update my trophy popped but my lore is stuck at 80somthin percent completion and I canā€™t get my gear and skin for completing. Itā€™s weird because the lore page is completed. Smh

All the lore completion is bugged. Youā€™re not alone.

Send in a ticket. Complete a match with said character first, or it doesnā€™t pop properly on the computer. If that doesnā€™t work, send in a ticket. Theyā€™ll have to manually fix it for you.
