I honestly am scratching my head on this one - I have never actually noticed the legendary effect go off to begin with (it must be pretty damn subtle lol), so I thought I’d ask if anyone knew if this helix mutation:

Using that mortar skill, you definitely do not want to be anywhere near anyone when it goes off. Kleese with no shield changes his name to Kleenex.
You’re totally right of course, but I was more trying to use the combo as a means to tell if the damn thing even works at all…
At this point I almost have to conclude that if it IS working (the legendary I mean), then it has no visual or audio effects to denote that fact.
I also hate how little information is actually on these gear pieces. I mean - WTF is the RANGE of the explosion???
Much like borderlands that lack of info forces you to try it and figure it out on your own. Legendary items and gearbox means lack of discriptions and surprises, often annoying surprises too like a talking gun that never shuts up!
Unfortunately that does NOT hold up here. The effects from the names in Borderlands may not have been well explained in the tooltips, but it was VERY clear what they did the INSTANT you fired them.
That is not at all true here, and you’d need to grind half a mission’s worth of shards to even test one of em, sooo… =.=
I am in no way shape or form defending them. I agree with you I was just pointing out their trend
