No, what’s disappointing is opening a vault for 2 greens, a white, and a blue.
shrug I think the droprates are fine
Played for about an hour with my Siren to clean up some missing Crew Challenges and Side Missions, picked up like 5 Legendary guns overall, from common and Badass enemies. Didnt try fighting bosses
And that brings to light that there are different types of players. There are casual players who are fine with getting a single legedary in a couple hours of normal play but based on the majority of posts both here and other forums those players are in the minority or so it seems. That is why mob drop rates are fine as is but for those who wish to min/max and are willing to farm bosses for hours on end to find that perfect piece of gear they are getting shafted and are questioning if that is really how they want to spend their time. There are tons of those players out there and they are not limited to this game… they have options if they find that this game is not scratching their itch…
Not gonna lie not quite sure how your guys drop rates are so low on my graveward runs on normal mayhem 3 i almost always get at least 1 drop and at most i get 5 very rarely. i did drop a ton of points into luck early on i pretty much always picked it if it showed up and i had a +11 luck relic and now I’ve got a lucky dice and have over +13%. When i first started mayhem 3 farming i would keep remaking till i got a good combination of modifiers “yes i know some people don’t like to do that i was willing” usually would end with 70% elemental dmg and +50% on smg or assualt rifle and go to town weapons didn’t really matter when i started either as again i was willing to spend time on the figfht. Then after a few rounds of getting legendary drops i got a rowans call and it became easy to farm and now i have more legendaries then my bank can hold i have had to start making mule characters to store as i’m a collector… must get 1 of every legendary drop even if it rolls sucky. So at 2 1/2 days of playtime each on my moze and amara I’ve probably acquired over 500 legendary drops of witch i have given away or sold most of them since dupes. So this is what i have gone through dunno if maybe my method was just that much different then what you guys have done and i lucked out on figuring a decent method comparatively. Also i’m on PC i don’t honestly know if drop rates differ from consoles i would hope not.
Try playing slaughtershaft. You can get loads of legendaries doing that.
I can’t imagine the drop rates are different. I actually got some nice legendary class mods last night with 31% pistol dmg and 45% jackob CHD.
What is the point of the game, other than to farm bosses at end game at this point? There is no challenging end game material at the moment, bosses are the hardest thing in the game at the moment, if you can kill them with the gear you have now, then you are beating the best content in the game with sub-par gear to begin with.
Wouldn’t worry about it to much at the moment.
I think Legendary items should indeed be Legendary drops, I should get one every once in a while, but to get them on every kill, especially when kills can be done in <1 minute isn’t very rare. You haven’t played a true loot game if you think getting 1 legendary in 5 runs is “low” that would be generous by many other loot based games.
Games like Diablo 2, you might be lucky to find your item or a unique in 25 runs, 5 would be insanely lucky.
yeah they do feel less legendary but i’ve found that annointed gear is really the new Legendary and then having to get that annointed gear with the right rolls is just mythical so there is a reason to farm… if u want to min max lol. However in slaughterdome 3000 i the end boss’s were hella hard with a group of 4 i wouldn’t say we were the strongest by we were geared and i would say i still need to farm for better rolls on my gear to feel better about that fight spent a good hr in that and it was honestly super fun and dificult drops were crap tho think thats cuz everyone died at the end but me.
The quality if the drops is not in question but the frequency at which they drop.
Indeed we can still the floor, there’s not enough loot!! (allright allright I was offline). More seriously imo we drop way too much (may be i’m too old-school), when u haven’t got the time to try all the legendary you dropped it means the drop rate is too high ^^
Well, yes, that’s the point. If getting a properly annointed item that is not only for your class but actually benefits your build is your goal it is literally one in a million so nerfing the frequency is detrimental. I can get 1000 legendaries and maybe one if them is an actual upgrade.
The same loot drops online. I play online how it was intended.
hmm honestly from my perspective of your OP it seemed more along the lines of legendary drops not happening at all for you. My problem tho with a increase in drop rate would make the game a bit lack luster. I mean i’ve got a lot of drops already and know how to farm some legendaries specifically to try and get those with proper rolls on them. But if the rate was increased then the true rare drops like king/queen call and lucian/rowans call would feel a lot more lack luster even more so as every multiplayer match would be everyone using those specifically as you don’t need to roll annointed on those to wreck. I would reather suggest from my experience that gun crafting become a thing as it seems to be halfway in the game anyways since you can view all the different gun parts and what they do… a gunsmith that is “properly” introduced could make modifying drops very appeasing and make trying to get those 1 in a million drops more realistic without spamming orange all over the screen. As a note on my quest of farming hellfire for the right modifier on it which i haven’t quite got what i wanted yet but i’ve got close. I’ve farmed over 100 hellfire i can garuntee 100% drop chance from the legendary hunt mob that drops it. I got it annointed 5 times i kept 3 of them that mattered so it honestly isn’t entirely bad for some of them so i at least have something to try and do while playing the game now since i’m waiting for content. come on event hurry up pls.
I think if they had a legendary trade in to marcus for like 10 legendary weapons of a certain gives you a random anointed weapon of that kind. It would make gathering legendaries actually worthwhile.
In BL2, mos tof the legendaries were boss specific. SO even if it took you 100 kills, you would have got the gun you want. now imagine every 5 kills, you get one of 100 items. say you want item number 53. and item 53 has 15 variants. it also has a small chance to b annointed. 15 different annointed. Do the math.
My opinion… Drop rates compared to BL2 are night and day. At first I was loving the skies raining orange before patch, but after a couple of days it got boring and shortened my reason to play the game anymore. After patch I sold almost all my legendaries (except a few of my favorites of course) just so I could keep playing and find that excitement in hunting new/awesome gear to play around with. I enjoy finding new stuff, purple or orange, to play around with and find out first hand whether I like it or not. Luckily in the beginning I had too many legendaries to try them all out and now I don’t now what they all do specifically. My point is, too high of a drop rate almost ruined it for me. If someone (myself included) doesn’t have time to dump 14 hours a day in the game but still wants that specific prefix or annointed item, they need to figure out a middle ground for us to find the rarest of items sooner than later. Like previous people said, class specific drops / re-roll options / or rework crazy Earl’s “loot-o-gram” to get annointed gear… I too like to find the perfect gear to complete my specific build, but I don’t want it to take 12 plus months to finally find it.
I have hundreds of hours into Diablo 3 and I can promise it rains legendary items at the highest Torment levels even more than Mayhem 3 originally did. And guess what? I still play as do many others despite the game being over 7 years old. The D3 loot system is perfect, and it is what this game should be emulating. It allows for more casual players to get the items they need for their builds, while allowing the more hardcore players to farm for specific rolls. Something for everyone.
It’s simple reduce the frequency and increase the damage of the weapons…
Get rid of MM and go to OP levels…
Let annointed go super rare like pearls but make them powered to feel rewarding
The only issue I have with legendaries is that most seem like that screaming gun from bl2, they usually have good stats in some ways but are crippling in other ways, for most that I’ve found pros didn’t outweigh the cons, however there were a few REALLY good ones that had unique appearances and affects that were just awsome, the problem with that is is that they are the only ones people want. But who knows, maybe they’re working on some truly unique legendaries for dlc like a triple barreled jakobs assault rifle, just saying.
