Just wanted to share this idea that just came to me as I closed my game for the night.

SAL’S LEGENDARY VENDING MACHINE

After the events of BL2, Sal retired to become a merchant dealing with only the finest and rarest of legendary gear. He offers new vault hunters the chance to sell and purchase legendary gear at his vending machines. Here’s how it would work…

-The machine will ONLY sell items of Legendary rarity (or higher if it ever gets added to the game).
-The machine will have a VERY LIMITED selection of items. Something around 6 items max.
-The machine will refresh once every 48 hours. This timer is global and cannot be reset by exiting the game or anything of the sort. By consequence of this, the machine will be inactive when playing in offline mode.
-The machine will only accept SAL BUCKS to purchase the items.
-In order to obtain SAL BUCKS the player must sell legendary loot to Sal at the machine.
-All items will cost the same price based on type (eg. rifles sell for X, pistols for Y, shields for Z, etc.).
-All items will be bought from the player at the price of 1 SAL BUCK, regardless of type.
-The machine will not sell class mods, but will accept them for SAL BUCKS.
-The item of the day will be the only anointed item in the machine and cost double the normal price. EDIT: Additionally, the anointment will always be universal or specific to the character accessing the machine.
-In terms of price scaling, players should have to sell 10 items to the machine to be able to afford the cheapest item (which would probably be either pistols or shields).

Sounds interesting. Only problem I see, is if it’s 48 hours world wide, you’re going to have a lot of people annoyed that the annointed perk is not the one they specifically need.

300% gun damage is cool and all, but I still don’t want to play melee Amara and would rather have my 75% chance and damage on phasecast, thank you.

Well it’s not meant to be the main source of loot. Just an alternative to it. You’re really supposed to go out and get the stuff yourself, but maybe if you are lucky the machine will have what you want.

If you don’t do this then people can farm the machine and it completely defeats the purpose of the game.

Really the main purpose of the machine is to act sort of like the Grinder from TPS. It’s a place where you can dump legendaries you don’t want in return for another legendary.

I wish that once you hit max level, you stop seeing green and white items on the vender.

I for one like this idea. It reminds me of the pirate dlc, in bl2, where you could buy seraph gear.
