I cant help but think there is some sort of connection. while it may not have made it into the full game, maybe Deande’s holotwin was originally intended to function like the void walkers and their annoying blurry bubble thing that always causes me to fail the challenges requiring me to kill them. Or maybe some other completely different varelsi-esc type affect. Like teleporting around the map through the void. Kinda like Phasewalk (see the resemblance in names?).
despite what “Voidwalk” might have initially meant during development, I can’t find any solid relation in the between Deande “voidwalking”. if you classify the voidwalker’s fizzy bubble as a skill, then it is very different from holotwin. They don’t seem to have anything in common in the full release of the game.
But that’s not to say that Deande’s holotwin couldn’t have been rigged up by Lenore using some Varelsi tech. But I really have no idea as I couldn’t find anything what so ever that taked about the holotwin’s inner workings

Glad I could do something useful for you and all the other people who enjoy this thread. Maybe when we get more actual information ill throw together a fan fic story for Lenore to serve as an update (or I could update this post as well). I already have some ideas for her type of character here and would love to be able to write more creative stuff on her.
Ok, serious logic time on this “B and KU” nonsense.
If we look at the open portrait spaces on the graphic above, we see that alphabetically, they break down like this:
1: between El and Ga.
2: between Kl and Me.
3: between Me and Ph.
It gets tricky if we suppose that everyone is being referred to by development names instead of final names. “B” for Bombirdier doesn’t fit, but Ernest does, in slot 1. Pendles fits in slot 3.
Slot 2 would need to be KU, which could be an acronym, if the “K” word was further in the alphabet than Kl. Ko- for example, or Kr-, just to name some ones that might make sense. “Krazy Unicorn,” for example, would work. I don’t think it’s likely, though.

Ok, so “slot 1” would totally fit EMpress Lenore, and “slot 3” would totally fit Nova.
That’s gonna keep me awake at night.
Complete speculation: Slot 3, Mel-Ph. Could be Mermaid or Murdersnake, which could easily be the development names for Alani and Pendles, respectively. I don’t know if this is in any way relevant to the mystery.
Am I insane for thinking I heard Pendles’ development name was “Murdersnake?” I seem to recall it being from one of the many threads, I think around the time his name was spoiled. Someone asking why a fearsome-looking character would be named Pendles, a relatively benign-sounding name, and the designer mentioning his original name was Murdersnake. This could all just be a tinfoil hat fantasy, though.

I looked through the lore and analysed the picture and video. I didn’t find anything at a glance that could be related, but maybe it needs a closer look. otherwise I have no idea what these letters mean.
What about other references for “B” and “KU?”
The only BB names beginning with B are Benedict and Boldur, and I doubt it would be anything to do with them. B for Bliss? Does anyone ever mention a “Plan B?” (Other than Scooter’s “Plan-turn-this-here-city-into-a-flying-fortress-of-awesome…B,” of course.)
KU could be anything, if it’s a proper name of the character. Could be KU1234, if that’s just the serial number of the LLC robot. But if it’s a development name, I wonder what it could be short for?
“Killer” doesn’t work, because that’d be on the other side of Kleese. If we look at words beginning with K where the second letter is L or later that make sense, we’re looking at KN- (knight) KO-, KR-, KU- (which seems obvious, but I still think KU might be a two-word acronym) and KY. Otherwise we’ve got a jumble of consonants at the beginning of the word if we’re obeying alphabetical order.

Since we can presume he’s referencing internal names, which can be real names like “Ernest” and “Alani” or functional names like “Bombirdier” and “Water_Monk” (I expect that Alani’s placeholder name was something like that and would explain why she’s presumably not present on the image), and jythri is cranking the rumor mill for speculation, my guess is that B and KU refer to functional names (which we could guess based on the pictures) or existing lore references.
For the B, I’m gonna guess that it refers to the robot; someone that I can’t recall the name of referenced the Minion bots when speculating the identity of the leftmost DLC character and how it seemed to have similar traits to the Elite bots. Bulwark and Bastion (the name of an OW robot character, so it would probably be changed; doesn’t mean it can’t be an internal name though) both work as good tanky robot names.
As for KU, since, by default, I’m thinking it applies to the rightmost (presumably Jennerit) character, I’m at a loss (pretty sure it’s the first letters of a 2 world name). K could stand for Keeper (as Keeper U-name), so maybe it’s one of Rath’s old compatriots that’s been cyborged after Rath ripped her to pieces. It could also be Kemessian (referencing Caldarius), so maybe Kemessian_Umpire (referring to Caldarius’ time in the pits). Knight and kamikaze have some potential too, given the Jennerit mindset.
I doubt that’s really relevant any more since the B name doesn’t apply. My guess would be that he’s referencing current internal names, rather than the old ones from months ago.

Not sure if this helps with the B and KU hint guys, but here are all the internal names of the current characters in the game (to give you a point of reference for how the devs like to nickname their characters). The majority you will recognize either from promotional material or via Career Titles
- AssaultJump - Caldarius
- Blackguard - Galilea
- BoyAndDjinn - Shayne & Aurox
- ChaosMage - Orendi
- DarkAssassin - Deande
- DwarvenWarrior - Boldur
- IceGolem - Kelvin
- LeapingLuchador - El Dragon
- MageBlade - Phoebe
- MutantFist - Mellka
- PapaShotgun - Ghalt
- PenguinMech - Toby
- RocketHawk - Benedict
- RogueCommander - Renya
- RogueSoldier - Whiskey Foxtrot
- SoulCollector - Attikus
- SpiritMech - ISIC
- SunPriestess - Ambra
- TacticalBuilder - Kleese
- DarkElfRanger - Thorn
- DeathBlade - Rath
- GentSniper - Marquis
- MachineGunner - Montana
- ModernSoldier - Oscar Mike
- TribalHealer - Miko
- WaterMonk - Alani
- CornerSneaker - Pendles
- Bombirdier - Ernest
Notice that their internal names embody the core elements that make up their character and/or their abilities. Someone should be opening up a dictionary and flipping to Ku…
Do it now! What are you waiting for? Do it now! Kleese, are they doing it?

I’m with you here, but if the graphic has any relevance to the development names, then Keeper, Kemessian and “Killer” wouldn’t work – they’d be alphabetically before Kleese, and the empty slot is after him. This is why I think Knight might make sense.
But, we KNOW Ernest’s development name was Bombirdier. There is no “B” slot open in the image. I wonder if it’s possible the image was from a period AFTER Bombirdier became Ernest (he’d fit slot 1) but before Alani became Alani. Alani could be “Water_Monk” and therefore not in the image, as you noted.
Oh, that IS useful!
Ok, ready for the Tinfoiliest of Tinfoil Hat Theories?
B is for Bard.
A while back, I made a TL;DR type thread about the Support characters in the game. This was when we weren’t sure if Ernest was going to be Type Defender, or Type Support. I dissected their roles, primary and secondary, healing styles and the like.
All of this was in speculation that the Jennerit character was Lenore, and that she was going to be a melee fighting support who buffed her allies rather than focusing on healing. I equated Lenore with a Bard, or specifically a Skald, from traditional fantasy roleplaying.
This list shows they definitely use fantasy roleplaying terms in defining some of these characters (Boldur and Thorn stick out, surprise, surprise.)
Ok, so the Tinfoil Hat part? I can’t find that thread anymore. I was going to link to it in another discussion about support characters, and NOW I CAN’T FIND IT.
I can’t remember what the heck I called the darn thread and it might have been closed just because it was TL;DR and I don’t know if anyone read it, BUT WHAT IF I WAS COMPLETELY RIGHT AND THEY’RE TRYING TO COVER UP THE TRUTH!
B is for Bard.
Seems a bit short and generic to me (especially given the character appearances). The only single word names are Blackguard and Bombirdier, both of which have multiple aspects that definitely epitomize the character.
Quiet, you! We don’t want your rational claims that have evidence supporting them here in Tinfoil Hat Land! I’m a genius for unfolding this mystery! So much so that they had to ninja-close my thread! BWHAHAHAHA!
…
I’ll stop now.
It’s true though. She’d be BardQueen or CyberBard or something like that.

Makes as much sense as anything I have for “KU.”
Knight Underoos?

Actually knight is a really good guess. The robot suit could totally be a sort of knight
But what sort of U-word would go AFTER Knight as a descriptor?
KnightUltimate would be UltimateKnight in parlance. English wants to put descriptors first.
KnightUndone? That kinda sounds like a poetic name for Galilea, honestly.
KnightUnderwater might kinda make sense – the bulbous head of that character could be a fishtank of sorts, and the robot suit houses an aquatic-only being? Kinda overlaps with Alani a bit, but she’s amphibious. This guy might JUST be aquatic.

Here’s hoping knight underwater is actually a goldfish named deep dive lol. The head looks more helmet-y to me though and less fishbowl
What if he’s a spherical fish, like a pufferfish or sentient jellyfish? That’d be pretty dope and could explain why the top part is “helmet-ey.”
Edit: I have no doubt that @Jythri and the character design team are cracking up at the ludicrous speculation in this thread.
(or hopefully getting ideas! Psst! Guys! We want a fish in knightly cyber-armor! I like the Deep Dive name, too!)
