Waltz is a little too polished in my mind. Someone like Flula Borg would be great for the VO, since Maquis’s proportions would perhaps require a CGI model.

I love Whiskey Foxtrot, don’t get me wrong. But, his VO is so generically uptight former military guy that I don’t think it would be a major casting barrier. Any Commonwealth actor could don an Midwest accent and be fine. In terms of physique, though… WF is shredded. The Rock is huge and fairly well defined. But WF, if we’re trying to be accurate, is straight out of Simply Shredded Magazine.

Now, Boldur is a heck of a casting decision. Do you digitally shrink someone? Cast a little person? Do you make them wear prosthetic muscles, since Boldur’s proportions are just a tad ridiculous. I have seen roid arms like those, i just don’t know if anyone in Hollywood, other than Stallone in Get Carter has them. It just seems like a potential minefield.

El Dragon kind of vexes me… Dave Bautista would be a great call for the physique, but his brilliant stoicism displayed in GoTG doesn’t fit with Dragon’s panache.

I haven’t watched WWE or other wrestling in years, but I wonder if there’s a good choice for the role there?

I hate to say, as much publicity as big celebrity names bring to animated movies, if you’re doing a strictly animated piece, I prefer dedicated voice actors whose entire career it is to do as many crazy, versatile voices as possible.
