So yeah, I kinda took Bahroo’s Infinite Action Zane build and did some tweaking. Most of it’s the same, except instead of allocating 1 point wastefully into Borrowed Time for negligible duration increase, and instead of spending 3 on Trick of the Light, which will be outright terrible against a good chunk of enemies with shock resistance, I chose to put them in Fractal Frags and Duct Tape mod. It isn’t perfect, but it still makes better use of the grenade regen skill without sacrificing the core concept of the build being focused around infinite AS duration.

Another thought I had was that, since the grenade build seems to be something Gearbox must’ve had in mind for Zane, it’s entirely possible a Class Mod would be able to bulk up the Duct Tape mod or Grenade Regen slots - enabling greater usage of grenades without having to necessarily go down the Hitman skill tree.

First off, “SpaceCocaine”? Fantastic name.

Secondly, I’m not sure why you’re focusing so much on movement speed without grabbing Violent Momentum. I really don’t see the point in moving fast if it’s not giving you any other bonuses, but it’s your build.

If you’re planning on relying on a class mod to boost Duct Tape Mod anyway, why not put a point in Old-U? It’s more useful than a 4% increased chance for firing a grenade that you’d potentially get back from a class mod anyway.

Also, if the only ways you’re using grenades regularly is Fractale Frags and Boom. Enhance., you dont necessarily need 20% grenade regen. If you take a point out, you can put that point wherever you want and still have 13% grenade regen for 8 seconds.You can even use that point for Old-U instead of one from Duct Tape Mod.

But anyway, I am kinda just copying most of Bahroo’s build, but I kept the movement speed buffs because of the fact you might wanna reposition the Doppelganger, and the best way to do that is to get in and out quickly. Old-U is an ‘oh ■■■■’ button, but the point of the build is to protect you, have the Doppelganger tank damage and constantly have either enemies frozen, your durations reset, or your shields at full. Old-U is neat as an oh-■■■■ button, but the point of the build is never to get low to begin with, pretty much.

Duct Tape mod is also something I plan on maxing out when the level cap inevitably goes up. And at that point, then speccing into the Hitman tree for Violent Momentum is a no-brainer.

As such, the best build I went for a is a hit and run kill skill combo of undercover and hitman

utilizing undercover’s low cd ability, cd reduction with full shield, I can then use the ability to use seeing red to constantly restart my kill skills

This creates a playstle where I can run in to drop my barrier to recharge any shields lost running in and doing as much dmg I can for the duration of the barrier. When it ends, I can then retreat while shooting as I wait for my cd, with the affects of cryo pouring in to keep my safe and my shields high. I then can run again once my barrier is off cd.

Have you put your build into the official skill tree builder? They’ve buffed and nerfed different skills and moved skills around. Plus we’d be able to see what augments you want to use.

So pretty much I’ve got two builds for level 50 and one for up to level 32 but being that the game has not launched yet class mods, anointed gear, etc will affect the builds. First is a pretty basic Clone/Drone Build utilizing the grenade skills as well. The second is a little more defensive using Clone/Barrier.

Clone/Drone (Level 32) For this one I didn’t go down into Violent Violence or Playing Dirty as they’ll vary based on weapons. If you want more synergy I’d take the point from Pocket Full Of Grenades and move it to Supersonic Man to synergize more with Violent Momentum. Again upon release I could see this build possibly changing.

Clone/Drone (Level 50)

Clone/Barrier (Level 50) This build is similar to Bahroo’s build except no capstone due to not having end game gear at the moment so it leaves 1 skill point left. Upon release and some gear testing this build could definitely change.

that build is similar to one of my builds except for having no points in playing dirty and instead putting points into cool hand for the reloads speed.

Yeah, some of these are also kinda similiar to what I already thought of.

In terms of the second one you linked:
Sure you wanna get Seein`red and Boom Enhance at the same time? I mean, this would increase the duration of your clone by far even though you don´t create the clone to the best damage source he could be, cause you are missing the cap stone. So as great as it sounds, may thinking about putting no point into it?
So you could at lease increase you kill skills during a boss fight up tp a duration of at least 45 sec, cause you would be able to execute a clone->drone->clone rotation for example quite faster. Else that wouldn´t be possible. Hope it´s somehow understable what I´m actually trying to say…:wink:

I’m hoping to do some form of melee / run and gun hybrid using this tree:

Hopefully trick of light ( 18% shock damage when enemy is not targeting you) and Deterrence Field (barrier gives shock damage and stagger to those who touch it) play nice together. I plan to swap all over the place bum rushing people with the portable barrier +claws while my clone guns things down.

Not sure what gun to pair it with though. I like machine pistols a lot so maybe a cyro version of that. Depends on what element goes best with shock.

The build uses the fact that the Rough Rider has a max shield of 0 to have some skills always active such as Adrenaline, Rise to the Occasion, and Confident Competence and it also allows you to skip a step in Calm, Cool, Collected. What I mean by this is that the Adrenaline and Confident Competence skills are always at their maximum output since the shield has a max of 0 allowing for you always to be getting the full effect of both skills. This is also true for Rise to the Occasion since you are at 0 shield the game counts that as your shield cant be any lower so you should get the full skill effect. Now as stated earlier the game believes you to be at maximum shield at all times so it skips the recharging shield step of Calm, Cool, Collected and starts to heal every time. Now if we combine all this with the dome shield and the healing we get from Nanites or Some ■■■■■ Augment we will be at maximum health most of the time allowing for the finale effect of Calm, Cool, Collected to be activated almost indefinitely making it to where we can stay in the dome and have our clone out forever! Anyways I’m still deciding on guns and will probably change the Artifact around ounce i find a better one but let me know what you guys think!

Here’s my build:

Seems to be pretty solid. I think 5 points in Adrenaline (green tree) is a solid investment. However, I still have 5 points remaining. What’s the most min-max bang for my buck for these 5 points? I don’t think Duct Tape Mod is worth it.

I personally found the skills to not really last long enough to be of benefit. I did use the clone leveling up and not gonna lie it’s fun. Just didn’t feel like it had the hang time though. So I went with a Desperado type build.
Its centered around having my barrier up coupled with a hit and run playstyle.
I typically main a masher and Jacobs rifle. I’m on the hunt for a shock/corrosive smg but other wise the other slots I interchange based on modifiers. Also I switch between a Wintry Unfazed Radical mod with 35% jacobs crit or a Forceful Disruptor mod i found with 27% pistol dmg. This is centered mostly around solo play. Any tips?
Edit: With the barrier I go with the dome and healing skills.

A lot of those skills in that online talent builder are really outdated that you linked to, and the stats do not match up either on a lot of the skills. Some skills are completely gone too. That site was made before the game came out.

Gear:
Weapons: good low pellet count weapons like Hive, One punch chumb, queens/kings call, lyuda preferably with anointed after skill effects
Classmod: executor with 3-4 in playing dirty preferably with damage reduction
Relic: whatever you find with cooldown on it
Shield:rough rider, although you can change some skills and get transformer or any shield to work preferably anointed with cooldown after skill end
Grenade: Hex, Pipe Bomb, Generator, Stormfront whatever the mayhem perk enforces

Playstyle: it needs some training (at least for me)
Call clone and destroy him immediately, while Zane keeps pressing the button for way too long, you can throw grenades and shoot a weapon, but you can’t reload. After that, keep switching weapons as often as possible. There is a weapon that reloads all equipped weapons but I haven’t found it at 50.

Has been a fun experience so far. Since you can make the annointments work and for some reason the cooldown is already half done if the clone detonates, it’s works surprisingly well.
