Really, damn I wish I knew about that storage glitch thing.
In b1 I spent way too much time dashboarding for a stupid sdu from Claptrap to maximize my storage on one of my toons. Instead I created another profile and just started creating mules. Much easier. Lol

Someone noticed that their backpack, being overstuffed due to mission tems dropping in, would transfer to the bank increasing the number . So, standing in front of vending machine with full backpack, sell 8 items to marcus, go to another vending machine, sell 8 more, then, buy all of Marcus gear, THEN buy back all YOUR gear you sold him. Presto. You have overstuffed your backpack with 16 items which you could then ‘force’ Into your bank because it would freely receive anything over your backpack count. Hope that makes sense. And I hope someone learns to break this stupid bank they’ve given us

What does and doesn’t constitute cheating is a matter of whether it’s an activity intended by the game design. Granted, I can’t say for sure whether Gearbox wanted or expected people to pack their gear onto mule characters, but to me, it seems like each character has a backpack, a personal stash (in earlier BL games) and a shared stash for a reason. Creating more characters solely for the purpose of storing additional items to me seems outside the bounds of the game’s design (note that many PC players even install 3rd-party software to do it), hence my calling it cheating.
Also, whether it affects other players or not has zero bearing on the definition of cheating. Or would you say players using “power overwhelming” (invincibility for all units) to breeze through the single-player campaign of StarCraft aren’t cheating?

So I think Gearbox needs to check there spam folder. As I believe harf of the community seems to realy want a bigger vault space where the others proberly don’t even know they need a bigger bank vault. Gearbox you guys need to answer us. They loads of threads about this, what are you Gona do?

Yes, the bank capacity needs massively extending.
They wanted this game to be better, they wanted to add tons more Legendary and returning gear items, but they failed to reason with the space provided.
Sanctuary III is a nice touch, but it’s just our home base. When we are in it, it shoudn’t matter how it effects game play. Once you’ve left the ship it’s you back pack size.
So in theory, they over did Sanctuary III and forgot to address the ONE thing we all bitc**d about in B2, and that was the bank space we had. We had to create so many mules to keep the gear we wanted.
Again, we have to think Diablo, PoE. Division 2 had way more, not sure about Destiny haven’t played since D2 dropped.
I’ve kept some gear from my first play through with Amara, they best gear. Now i’m struggling to keep anything i find and have to sell or drop other items. So for someone like me who spends a huge amount of time testing builds - like i did in Diablo 3 and PoE - it’s just hard a hell to do so.
We need about 200 minimum. I’d say 300. In PoE you can have so many it’s amazing including having your own shop linked tab.
Gearbox, you seriously need to address what the ‘community’ wants, not just what you think is right.

Bank space. Inventory space is a different topic. And I don’t think making it more complex is a desirable trade-off for the utterly bonkers 50-item restriction across all your characters. That’s a design flaw but in reality it’s not an acceptable one.
Bank space was a contentious issue all though BL2, so it’s not like this would be a surprise to them. All I’m saying if D2 manages to give ample storage then it’s clearly not a technically impossible feat and it shows very poor planning on GBX’s part. And if giving pages is an achievable workaround then I’d have to ask why on earth they didn’t implement that?

Mules have been standard operating procedure since the original Diablo, nearly 15 years before the original Borderlands. (And likely before then)
It’s also well within the design of the game as you don’t need to “cheat” to make mule characters. Remember that when borderlands first launched there was no bank.
Storage has always been an issue in past due to resource management, and now likely for the same reason but it’s been 10 years. Gearbox knows. I appreciate that they are upping the bank into a shared storage location but for those of us that play more than one toon they are limiting what we can hold.
200-250 is the shared stash magic number imo. That puts us back in line with the storage of the prior games and it’s large enough that we can tell anyone still complaining to fudge off.
The only solace is that buying backpack sdu’s will be a relatively painless affair and that Fl4k looks like a pack mule.
Judging by the interview Paul Sage did, I think they honestly feel they doubled the storage space.
He mentioned that their numbers indicated that we (in general) only play one character. Like, we may play others for a bit to check them out then settle into using the same toon over and over.
By that reasoning, I can kind of understand the woefully inadequate storage.
Having said that though, they (Gearbox, Paul & Randy) heavily hype that Borderlands 2 was still averaging 2 million daily players. I have difficulty believing that 2 million daily players of a 7 year old game are only using one character.
I’m sure they are aware and are likely looking at what they can do to up it. Remember you don’t want them to just up it and then you lose everything in the bank.

If bank space is limited by number of gun models it has to render on load (I’d be happy with simple text descriptions there, to be honest…) - what stops them from adding one more bank to my room on Sanctuary? It looks like it could use a bit more furniture anyway…

I was comparing the inventory system of both and why we can’t really have the numbers destiny does. That’s all.
It’s the Borderlands DNA. When you get a gun you should be able to look at it and be able to tell the difference between a different version of the same gun. When piping into and examination the weapon it should load up briskly. You don’t have that with Destiny.
I stated this in my earlier reply but they did more than double the storage from a single toon perspective. Apparently their numbers indicate most people play one toon.
For the life of me I can’t understand that, but if it’s true it kind of explains it. Personally, I think the bank should be in the 200 to 250 range even if it takes longer to load. It’s not like we access the bank during hectic battles or anything.

I don’t know about others, but for me most legendaries etc. are trophies. It makes me happy that I looted that gun and actually used it a bit.
So, let me stuff them into a trophy case somewhere. Or have some sort of in-game bingo card that tells me that I got this gun, but not that other one. Might be enough for some collectors.
Or gun racks for every category of guns, display cases for mods, grenades, & relics. And a closet were I can store 5 load outs & builds.

Ide hapily take a huge bank and loose all my gear, this game has been out a week ime planning to play for some months or years to come hopefuly so this needs sorting out sooner then later.
When everyone hits lvl 50 and enter TVHM they Gona want to farm for high levl gear and keep it not trash it.
I also think we need more storage. I like to collect at least 1 of everything also. Bl2 I had 25 mules with level 50 and up legendarys.

This is outrageous. There are 200 confirmed legendaries (not to mention different parts and elements) and I can save 50 of them?! I can’t even make multiple characters to save them on because you can’t have 2 characters from the same account in one game. They need to give us semi-limitless storage of some kind cuz you’re I can’t market “there’s trillions of guns” and then go “but you can only save 50”

Yeah… add me to the list of people who would love to have more bank space. I plan to play this game for a loooooong time, I wanna be able to collect and store lots of things. Shared storage space is really cool, it just needs to be a lot bigger.

I couldn’t agree more with the OP … the bank space needs looking at.
+1 for sanity
Also … you can digistruct a car … why not be able to do the same to a weapon?

I would be happy if it went back the BL2 way, where each character has their own vault.

Have to agree. The shared bank has to go or be made to at least 500 total.
