That depends somewhat- if you reach level 50 before finishing TVHM the later quests might be at your level. Earlier quests, however, may still be at a lower level as I believe they are locked to a certain degree in normal and TVHM. If you want to make sure you get them at level 50, finish off Jack and the Warrior firstâŚ
Thanks a bunch. Again
Unaccepted missions in Lynchwood, The Dust, and Caustic Caverns will all scale with the player (although you may have to save/quit/resume to see the map level change.) Those are the only ones I know of for sure.
All do.
After completing main story if you havenât accepted the missions, yes.
Actually during NVHM or TVHM, no. Missions in most maps donât level up during NVHM/TVHM even if you hit level 50 before getting to the final story mission. The areas I mentioned are exceptions to that rule.
Amongst all the excitement of getting these great guns
, may I interject a word of caution and reiterate a point made by @Ronnie_Rayburn
Referring back to BL1, the transition from PT2 to PT2.5 kept the difficulty increase fairly linear. The move from TVHM to UVHM is an exponential increase in difficulty. Itâs a âVery Hardâ mode. Legendary L50s might see you through to L55 but other âred textâ weapons will soon be outclassed by higher level greens and blues.
To make UVHM viable to mere mortal players, like myself, GBX increased the effectiveness of Slag to compensate. Unless youâre a really good runânâgunner, you are likely to need Slag to âweakenâ your enemies enough to do serious damage.
Gaige doesnât have the innate Slag skills of some characters. Yes, thereâs âInterspersed Outburstâ and âMake It Sparkleâ but they arenât as effective as Axtonâs Slag turrets or Mayaâs âScornâ and âRuinâ. Consequently, going in to UVHM with a good Slag weapon is as important as having L50 uniques.
If you are going to farm one mission reward weapon, then I would refer you to another recommendation by @Ronnie_Rayburn. Get a Slagga from the final shoot-out in Clan Wars. Although itâs damage output will soon be outclassed in UVHM, its ability to Slag remains very effective.
Sorry if I sound all âdoom & gloomâ but I know youâre a BL1 player and I donât see why UVHM should be as big a shock to you as it was to me
Seriously, UVHM is very rewarding, in every sense, but be ready for the hike in difficulty and donât be surprised if those shiny L50s donât even get you to Sanctuary.
Finally, if you havenât found good weapons in UVHM, and the going is getting dishearteningly tough, may I also add my recommendation to @kgk4569 's suggestion of farming the Bar Room Brawl for Torgue Tokens and buying a DPUH. Also, you might care to farm Treants in The Forest for a Bee shield. Both of these become available quite early on in their respective DLCs, Torgue (DLC2) and Tina (DLC4), and so donât ruin the gameplay when you play them through. The purists say using DPUH/Bee is a crutch. I say if they get you out of a tough spot and make the game fun again, just do it
Have fun
But is the Slagga a quest reward or a drop from one of the bosses there? Iâve found various answers through a search
It boss drops from Tector Hodunk if you side with the Zafords. Just farm him until it drops.
Got it when I did the quest. Thanks!
Got the Slagga and im 50½. Going Uvhm now!
Awesome! Enjoy!
Thatâs excellent. Remember to level up your arsenal ruthlessly - donât get fond of an underlevelled weapon
And tread carefully, at first, as you come to terms with the difficulty hike.
And donât forget youâve still got all the campaign DLCs, the Head Hunter packs and Digistruct Peak. And when you finish that, thereâs five more characters to do it all over again
Have fun!
But donât sell it either! Save it on a mule. Your next character will be very grateful to you if you feed him/her some nice gear here and there on the Road to OP 8.

Hey Iâm quite a noob at BL2 ( and TPS ) so I was wondering if I could get any advice for TVHM because Iâm over leveled and my guns arenât. Iâm at Sanctuary and Iâm level 42. The bad part is Iâm just getting ready to go to Frostburn Canyon and my guns suck.
What do I do?
If you are over-levelled, you donât really need to worry about the guns. The only thing you need to worry about is the level of your weapons relative to the map/mission. âHunting the Firehawkâ shouldnât be that high a level - you can check what it is by popping into your inventory and checking the left-most tab. The weapons you can find in and around Sanctuary should be fine.
Edit: the Borderlands wiki lists the Firehawk mission in TVHM as level 37. Should be a cake walk for you. By the time you get to the Highlands (Bright Lights Flying City), the game should start catching back up with you.
Buy guns, farm Savage Lee, farm Flynt, and the various chests.
Will do
thatâs what I was thinking. that he wasnât all that much overleveled, itâs not unusual for me to have a toon start TVHM at 45 - 47. As for him saying Gear/Guns suck coming out of NVHM, as long as he has End Game gear(NVHM), then as you say, it should be a cake walk till the game catches up and then one option is if he has any Golden Keys he can use the chest in Sanctuary to get gear at his level
