Local Split Screen configuration is frustrating. Needs to be changed

First of all, I am really enjoying the game.

However, I just tried split screen multiplayer today and was shocked about how small everything got.

The mini maps are HUGE and take up about 1/4 to a 1/3 of the screen.

I am playing on a 65 inch tv and I have to strain to see the text and Helix information. This is not good.

These mini maps need to be translucent and maybe placed in the upper left of right corner of the screen. Or maybe have a way to bringing it up when needed.

I hope Gearbox does something about this. Its quite irritating.

Besides that, game is awesome.

Not sure if it would help, but is there a HUD scale option in the settings on consoles?

Yea…I was surprised they didn’t have any options to change the configuration. For example, vertical split screen would be great. Hopefully they’ll do something about it. I know they have a lot on their plate but this is a big issue, IMO.

I couldn’t agree more. This is terrible and needs to be fixed because co op is basically unplayable on my 70" tv. Ridiculous. I only choose this game over Overwatch because my girlfriend and I have loved playing all of the boderlands together and looked forward to playing battleborn together as well. That ain’t happening without high tech military grade binoculars strapped to our face. This is text book false advertising because it’s not split screen. It’s split up your screen. Please fix or I’m sure many will be returning. I bought this game under false pretenses.

Exactly! I was trying to game with my WIFE, a.k.a attractive woman, whose has played other co op games with me in the past. After starting this game up and seeing the horrible split screen set up, she didn’t want to play because she couldn’t read the text on the screen and had a hard time aiming. Having a lady friend that wants to actually sit down and game with you is huge. Thanks a a lot split screen for messing that up.

I will be playing with my other half later and the split screen needs to improve, just make the map smaller

Lol my buddies and I had the same issue and managed to find a simple solution. We moved the couches forward until we could read the text. I like this screen division because it increases the amount of vertical view space and makes it far easier to see what’s going on. When you take a widescreen and chop it in half, you get virtually no vertical view space. If tv’s were square this wouldn’t be an issue. Is it a coincidence that couch co-op is being slowly phased out of triple A fps’s? I think not.
