So this is what I’m working with now. I would like to get this with Luneshine(preferably 30% chance to ignore shields or 10% crit damage effect). Most importantly, mag size of 4 with jacob’s stock. If anyone has this on 360, I’d like to trade. I have lots of goodies.
To be fair, the Jakobs stock isn’t ideal, something like hyperion would be a bit better (i mean stocks are the least of ur worries but it is). And most likely the Doc’s prefix would be better for the multiplicative crit bonus it comes with, but I digress.
I am going for the aesthetically pleasing jacob’s stock. I don’t know enough about parts and what they provide to said weapon. so, if I’m being ignorant, please enlighten me. I want the Mag size of 4. Not sure if I can get that with a jacob’s stock. And I would gladly take the Docs prefix. But, I would like the Rustler’s prefix as I like that look of the vertical grip. Reload speed I’d like to be 2.3.
Hyperion stock is a bonus to accuracy and recoil recovery with no downsides. The Jakobs stock has a bonus to accuracy, but makes your recoil much worse. And while grips do get a manufacture bonus (match a manu’s grip to the manu of the gun, you get a bonus to mag size and reload speed), stocks don’t have a manu bonus, so almost always go for Hyperion stock if you can for shotguns (unless it’s a Hyperion shotgun, then go for Torgue stock). And here’s a link to all of the gun parts. http://imgur.com/a/z0Wz2 Note that this is a BL2 guide, and as such does not have Laser parts to them. However, it is still useful for everything else.
@ACNAero
Thank you for the info and link. I have been killing Redbelly for a while and got the Striker that is in the pic I posted. I have been using it and I love it. And yes, I have a Doc’s Flayer. LOL I just like the accuracy and mid to long range use I get with the Striker. Since I’m rolling with it now(always equipped) I thought I’d put in the time to grind a perfect version for myself. After grinding for hours and not getting it, I thought I’d reach out to the community in hopes that someone has it, and is willing to trade for it. If not, no biggy…I’ll just grind away per usual. Sometimes is seems like I live at the grinder. LOL

What type of grip and scope does this gun have? Can’t tell from picture, scope looks Hyperion.
Pretty sure it’s Tediore grip. looking for the Jacobs grip…
Scope looks Tediore…when I was grinding for the version I am going for, I got this exact Ruslter’s Striker but with the Hyperion sight. LOL so I have this one and another with the hyperion sight. I just keep grinding it and dashboarding till I get what I want. smh I’m addicted…LOL

so is this gun perfect parted with all Jakobs? I don’t understand perfect-parted.
perfect part, as I see it, are the parts that comprise the max stat version of said weapon. quickest reload speed, highest damage, biggest mag, etc…
Being the uneducated noob that I am, I reach out to the community for the vast knowledge and expertise that it brings. someone here will end up breaking it down for me and telling me all the parts I’ll need or am looking for for the max stat version of said weapon. well, at least I hope… @ACNAero already provided a link to the various parts. So, I’ve been lead to water, I just need to take the time to drink it.

it’s just hard to tell which is actually the best part for each part of the gun. plus, we have no control over how the parts of the gun are assembled. that’s one feature of the grinder I would like to see for the next Borderlands; either let me pick the parts of the gun I want by grinding 3 guns, or just give me the best possible version of the guns I grinded. It’s just too random right now.
yes, it’s a bit much for my little brain to decipher. lots of different parts give bonuses as well as slight draw backs. the best way to decipher for me is to see it in game. that way I see the stats that are adjusted by the different parts. I have seen a reload speed of 1.9 on the Striker. not sure what part did that. LOL but to get the 1.9 reload speed, I’m pretty sure I’m loosing something I don’t want to loose by gaining the 1.9 reload speed. it can get complicated when cross referencing the parts that give you the bonuses you want, but keeping in mind the drawbacks that come with said part. for this very reason I look to the forums. Someone here knows exactly what I’m looking for and will hopefully tell me. LOL
K so generally, you want the Matching manufacturer grip just because the bonus to Mag Size (The 4 Ur Looking for) and Reload Speed (these are the specific bonuses to matching the grip to the manufacturer of the gun, in addition to the standard part bonuses/drawbacks to the grip) are usually a bigger DPS increase than the marginal bonuses you get for a specific grip. (For Example Shooting a Tediore Shotgun an additional 1-3 times will give you more DPS than a grip that gives you slightly more damage)
It;s usually just safe enough to trust the various Top Gear Threads for each character for best parts, but if you want a more detailed analysis you can message any of the Creators of the Top Gear thread, and we’ll help you with whatever you need.
Thank you @Hoyle4 for your help. I really appreciate the info and feedback. I have been spending a lot of time at the grinder lately. This is the best I could get last night. Still trying for the luneshine!
Barring the ideal stock (yours is Tediore), yeah that looks to be the perfect Rustler’s Striker (I still contest Doc’s might be even better, but Rustler’s is fine too).
