Lore CHALLENGE changes

Seems more like you’re upset that you already completed some of the challenges, and that you feel shafted by it. Not that they’re any less “challenging”.

I couldn’t due to troll pugs in PvP. They see me pick Ghalt and kill steal. I even tried the push off method on capture maps, only to have people fire a last shot into them and secure the kill.

More upset that gearbox listens to all the people whining about how “hard” the challenges are… More people were fine with it then the ones complaining… Only difference is people don’t say anything when they satisfied they only hear complaints

As far as the “Kill ‘x’ character” lore goes, it was not because people complained about it being difficult. Honestly, adding assists would have been enough. The reason for the kill lore is because of the prejudice Ambra and OM got. That, and the fact that it created unhealthy gameplay tactics that did not benefit the team at all. This created an animosity towards Galileas, Alanis and WFs.

While most of the other challenges were a grind, there is no way that you could reach rank 15 before finishing the lore challenges. It was surprising to see those changed, but they weren’t even close to being the most challenging challenges in the game. I really don’t see how allowing more players to have access to some of the most effective legendary gear pieces is a problem.

It won’t make me enjoy the game any less. In fact, it will entice me to play some of the other characters that I have been putting at the end of my list due to initial perception of difficulty.

It’s kind of a wash for me.

Irritating that I completed stuff like 1000 minion kills with dragon splash (now 100) but for those characters I am yet to master it will make the process much quicker.

If I’d already mastered everyone though that would be some REAL salt.

that just followes the low player-numbers and is a step in the right direction to get new players into the game and keep them there.

if you look at some lore challanges they are extremly frustrating loke foxtrots melee kills or 25 oscar mike kills
many chars have similar lore challenges and if these get nerved it might be a kick in the face for all they achieved these already but its a good move to keep new player in the game.

from beta to now, command rank and titles have grown increasingly less reflective of player skill, and more represenative of a crying community.

As someone pointed out in another thread the reduction to the difficulty of lore challenges is good due to the fact that most characters are SUPPOSED to play with their lore legendary.

If you can get it early and use it while levelling a character that’s a bonus and better than getting it close to mastery, never using it before you move onto someone else.

yeah on average, you’d unlock legendaries around lvl 10, giving you the last third of mastering a hero the opportunity to put the gear in use. Sure, if you grind legendary and only focus on lore you can unlock at 7-8, but the majority of the roster took legitimate playtime to unlock their gear. Now, people will be unlocking legendaries at level 5, which is a joke of a reward for the lack of playtime and a slap in the face to the people that learned to play the heroes through ridiculous grinding. And then the week after next you’ll get a double XP event to celebrate a new hero, noobs will earn scary XP, level up to 100, then get put on your game, only to quit after they solo charge forth into a team with rath or galilea two to three times in a row, dying-but not without filling voice chat with utters of profanity and your suckage before they leave.

Sure I’ll get 4 lores unlocked with the change, but will they feel as rewarding as killing Oscar mike seven more times or having endless first bloods stolen from you until finally firing that clinching lore shotgun blast? ■■■■ no! It’s an over accomadation that only serves to lower player competency with the full roster in hopes to boost short term gratification. Do spikes in player activity translate Into long term success?

You make a good point but some of the challenges were excessively grindy to complete.

Stuff like 1000 dragon splash kills on MINIONS specifically, not just enemies, is completely absurd.

I had El Dragon at lvl 15 and had approx 500 kills with Dragon Splash, after making a conscious effort to pursue the challenge.

It took an 80 minute Geoff farm to complete, which should not be the case.

Some were simply unreasonable and needed to be brought into line.

agreed, lol oh god the dragon minion lore… Literally almost ran out of mission server time just farning Geoff’s spider babies!
It’s crazy that people will have legendary abilites before unlocking at least half of helix mutations…but some-not all-certainly needed adjustments

It seems like a lot of you guys are looking at these lore changes from one side. These changes look as though they cater to the people who SOLEY play PVE OR PVP and not trying to make everything easier for everyone but to make the PVE lore challenges doable in PVP and to make the PVP challenges easy enough for the PVE only players to not mind trying to drop into PVP to finish them off. Which opens up more of the game for the majority (I assume the majority of BB players play PVP mostly now anyways) of players to get a new crowd coming into PVP. These lore changes are nothing but a good thing.

To those who feel cheated out of the “harder challenges” I’ve always suggested that they make two sets of lore challenges. A hard mode which either gives us a title, or max stat legendary gear, and an easy mode which gives the normal or low stat legendary gear.
