Losing my Patience with Pendles

what if miko uses stun and then you get stunned by montona followed by aleni wellspring? :unamused:

But WITHOUT a Stealth approach? That’s my take on 1 vs. 1, and why I also said “unless he lands the first pivotal hit(s).”

While I don’t doubt you can effectively merc the characters you mentioned, I’m betting it’s also based on player skill. With players of comparable skill, if Pendles and pretty much any BB start an engagement facing each other with no other obstacles in the way, you can pick any engagement range you’d like, I’m saying the other BB will PROBABLY win that fight. Hence, why Pendles IS NOT “unfair.” He NEEDS to dictate the terms of engagement and be opportunistic.

Don’t worry about it, your English is actually quite good, as are the points you make in your post.

Thank you very much.

Mhh, we play in PUGs mostly (so 2 as pair, 3 randoms) and we rarely need to communicate, at least in Incursion.
Of couse in such groups it can be that we get stomped by a 5-man-premade with excellent military & tactical communication - but such a thing is a rare case.
Helpfull military communication is a task most people are not capable off, instead its wild jibberjabber that distracts more than being a tactical advantage. At least thats how I perceive it so far.

Worst is when all 4 players try to communicate as much as possible to get the “tactical advantage the rival premade team has”. I rarely works, it gives me headaches and I can barely concentrate if all are pinging & talking…

At best is to flow with the team and make best use of situational awarness, that way you rely less on loud communication.

PS: Sorry, its totaly off-topic I guess >.<

@cadecampbell is right on with the definition @francisconros, but these kind of games are also sometimes called PUGs, or “Pick Up Groups,” just so you know.

Oh yeah I mean I take the stealthy approach but I can sneak from a montana to miko and hit that giant crit spot, get the kill and smoke bomb out

And we’re on the same page.

Pendles, 1 vs. 1 in a pure slugfest, loses to just about any other BB if players are equal skill. It’s just the nature of his kit, and a big part of why I don’t think he’s unfair, cheap, or OP.

Pendles requires a unique mindset and skills to use effectively, and if you don’t have it (I DON’T!!!), you’re essentially a sub-replacement-level player.

And that is why I like him

EDIT: his lore kinda where benedict talks about him shows what happens even if you win a straight up slugfest with pendles

I think Pendles is well balanced, kind of like Rath. If people would just focus them when they show up, they’re dead. No problem. It’s when teammates completely IGNORE the fact that Pendles de-cloaks and starts attacking in their midst, and no one seems to even notice.

Countering Pendles just requires awareness, and teammates that know to pounce assassins that show up in their midst. OP, if you are getting killed so much by Pendles, are you by yourself somewhere? Where are your teammates when he pops in? No one using Ambra, Marquis? Or just keeping an eye out for him? I’m playing on a 27" monitor, so it may make it easier to see him while in cloak.

I know the best of the BEST pendles can take down a low health target while they are protected by their allies, and smoke bomb away (its pretty badass)

It seems bizarre when people say he’s balanced, but he’s one of the only characters I ever see get 20-30 kills in a match (besides a few others like Thorn).

He really is balanced though, you just need good awareness and making sure your health is high enough

Pendles is well balanced and if anything underpowered.

He’s a gimmick at best, and a nuisance at worst.

Very effective in PuGs but if you can call him out he’s more or less useless. Reveals absolutely cripple him and there are a multitude of characters with strong reveals.

Pendles literally can’t be on the same lane as Marquis or Orendi, for example, and remain cloaked.

He has MANY counters.

I’ve literally just stood and watched Pendles players destroy my tier 3 shock turret a the back of monuments, waited for him to finish, instantly rebuilt it to 3. Rinse - repeat.

Not sure why he was even doing it considering they hadn’t even pushed the first sentry, but I’ll take the free XP.

This is completely anecdotal.
Most of the Pendles I see suck. So is he OP or UP? Neither. Our personal experiences do not represent the whole situation.

He’d be a better shard-stealer if he had Lorrian Purse Cutter. That gear is just PERFECT for him.
