All RNG, so don’t feel bad. Mayhem 1 isn’t bad at all either. I switch between M4 and M1, M4 for the loot and M1 for the dedicated loot and just fun running around feeling like a Badass
My point exactly, I’ve talked to various streamers and players and I haven’t heard of people finding only pistols.
I just reinstalled the game today but I haven’t played it yet. I’m not sure I want to start over because I find the story terrible but I enjoy the gameplay but what happens if I start over and the same thing happens?
I just don’t get it. It’s not like I’ve played different from anyone else overall. As for why I’m lvl 40 and haven’t beaten it yet it’s mostly because I spent a lot of time just running around killing things instead of focusing on quests but that shouldn’t stick me in pistol hell.
I know it’s all rng but after 30-40 hours rng should be giving me things other than pistols.
What about quest rewards, as someone mentioned? Are those bugged, or do you get the normal rewards from them?
I have no reason to lie about this. Basically all drops are either crap pistols or crap shields. Even bosses, events and golden keys are dropping them.
It’s basically ruined the game for me.
I get normal rewards from them but they are lower level than I need to be effective but that really isn’t the point.
I see people picking up all sorts of crazy things without mayhem mode in just regular gameplay and that literally never happens for me and it makes no sense.
They sell other weapons in stores but they are always too weak and never have any status effects.
I suppose that’s true. I’ve just never heard of something like this happening. I’d be interested in finding out if it changes for you in TVHM because at least normal is entirely doable with pistols. Heck, I got a maggie at level 13 and used it throughout my Moze’s entire first playthrough lol
It’s doable but… Boring. I have a bunch of friends play and they have all these fun guns without mayhem mode and I’m just sitting there with pistols.
I just uninstalled it and installed to a different drive. I don’t know if I should try with my current save or just start over… I’ll probably buy both but it’s basically ruined the game for me and despite searching since a couple weeks after launch I can’t seem to find any kind of fix…
Could the email you some of the non-pistol stuff that drops in their games? Just wanting to check that it comes through ok.
@Vaulthunter101 sure, I’ll send a couple of them a text today and see if I can get a list of a few weapons they each have. AFAIK none of them have finished the game and accessed Mayhem mode yet because we have limited time to play but we are all still around the same level and have focused on side quests which is the same way we played BL1 & 2.
It might take until tomorrow to post back but I definitely will. We all get out of work around 5-6pm but a couple of them then have household things to do.
Just from playing I see a wide variety of things. Switchable status effect weapons of all types, one has a shotgun that shoot fireworks and then there I am with my pistol asking them for their scraps lol.
The kicker is I bought most of them the game for Christmas.
@Sssith I’ve found legendary pistols… but they are still pistols and they don’t fit my play style (I’m a sniper primarily but when in close I use SMG’s and Shotguns) plus I’m just tired of nothing but pistol or shields. It’s always one or the other.
I found an SMG once near when I first started the game but nothing but pistols since. I’d lol if it wasn’t so frustrating
You can try the following:
Behind Ellies Garage you turn left to her “Crap” Place.
Run to the sign, then straighton.
On the left you see some Rocks where you can climb up.
On the Top is a Red trunk Chest.
If even this only has Shields and Guns open a Ticket.
Anyway, i would finish the Story and then go either on Mayhem oder TVHM.
In the Droughts, when you do the Quest on Markus Vending Machine (Important: get the human Spine first!) he opens his Chest. In the Droughts are definetly more Guns than just Pistols.
At least with the Chest you can update your Stuff even when it only contains Guns.
@priv appreciate the suggestion (everyone’s for that matter) I know I’ve opened other red chests full of pistols… I don’t remember if I opened that one specifically but I will check today.
I’ve been to the droughts and… All pistols basically. If I do manage to find something that isn’t a pistol it’s lower level than useful and also always garbage. Non pistols never have any status effects like fire, lightning etc.
It sounds like you do find stuff other than pistols, so can you clarify what actually happens?
It is impossible to be at Level 40 in a story without seeing all weapon types BL3 has to offer. Were you power-leveled by any chance and still did not progress on your own beyond first few maps? If you still hang out as L40 at the very first map, OK, that’s somewhat possible, but otherwise it’s hard to believe.
@CharmlessBee I played the game game normally, no power leveling, no cheating, and yes I’ve left the first map.
If this was normal I wouldn’t have come here asking for help. I sent in a support request this morning so hopefully I can get some kind of official answer to what’s happening here.
@whatevercb I honestly don’t remember if I’ve opened them that’s why I’m going to check.
I stopped playing the game like a month+ ago because I grew extremely tired of all the pistols. So I wouldn’t remember what color they were if I opened them already.
Your issue sounds like a glitch. I hope you find a resolve. (There are enough issues as is!).
Can you make a 10 minutes clip with your problem?
