Any fellow Mac user encountered a screen freeze when trying to leave the game after the Feb 13 patch?
When I exit borderlands 3, I get a blank screen. Sometimes I can force-quit the application (cmd-opt-shift-ESC), sometimes I cannot - hard reboot time. Unfortunately, MacOS does not appreciate hard reboots (neither does a Windows PC, ofc) and I had runaway demons afterwards. In the end I decided to finally upgrade to Catalina and say goodbye to my old 32bit apps. Guess what? Same behavior.
In the cases where I manage to leave without a hard-boot, I see crash reports. Also, since this effect started, game performance is really bad again. I believe I saw evidence of some crashed process in the background, maybe some Unreal engine process. The Epic launcher is not guilty, I shut it down after start command, and the game still glitched out.
So, did you also have issues when exiting the game since the patch? I hardly dare to try play anymore, given that it freezes my system (modern iMac with plenty of CPU, RAM, whatnot).
Any insights or tips are appreciated.

I can offer no support, sorry. But on the bright side the Mac problems are so few they don’t even have a Mac forum.
Thanks for the moral support, at least. I know there is no Mac forum, so I went here hoping to be granted asylum.
Well, instead of broken hearts and legendary items I now farm legendary crash logs. Still trying to decide which ones to keep, there are so very many stats inside…

Hey, I have MBP 16" fully loaded. I didnʻt start playing until a month ago, and initially I was able to leave the game with no problems, but did experience problems when starting the game. I found a solution to the startup by launching the file via application - show package contents.
This new crashing problem is another story. Its happened 3 times now, and like you, I am discouraged to play, as I dont want to do hard reboots.

Late to the party… but borderlands 3 runs well on my Mac, but having it hang and freeze and do a hard restart my computer really makes me not want to play the game which is totally unfortunate as the series is one of my favorites.
The other unfortunate thing is that this issue probably won’t be addressed by the developer since the game seems to be so passé. Again that bothers me because the other versions of this game ran so well before.
Yep, same thing here. Runs fine, but hangs on a black screen with the cursor when I try to quit. Need to turn the power off + restart to get back to my computer.
Potentially relatedly, I can’t ‘command-Tab’ while playing to access the system in the background. Seems like this would allow for force-quitting from the black screen if we could switch processes, but for some reason that’s locked out. annoying!
In the same boat, re: excellent game but major obstacle to playing more because of this issue. Please address?
