Do you have proof that your command rank was 100? I’d like to see that before I believe your nonsense. Furthermore, a high command rank merely denotes length of play and not necessarily skill. It’s like bragging that you’re OP8 in Borderlands 2 but being total trash at the game, and believe me I encountered many of those.

However, not being able to beat a supposed equally skilled player would imply that you were in fact the less skilled player.
Everyone who mained one character had problems with one character or another, that’s how this game is. One character might be able to dominate another but there is always a counter, with the range of different playstyles and the roles assigned to certain characters in the game you will always have trouble against at least one. Perhaps instead of whining that Galilea is too powerful you could try using a different character or alter your plan of attack instead of doing the same thing time and time again to no avail. Use different tactics, co-ordinate better with your team, priority target Galilea is she’s a problem to your team, ambush her, tag-team her, flank her, force her back or draw her out of her defensive zone into yours. I used to have a problem against Ambra and Montana but I learned how they played and from there learned their weaknesses and how best to counter them. I saw many a Marquis dominate a game but they seldom dominated me personally. Battleborn is a team game, if you can’t work with a team against a top threat then you’ll lose more often than not, especially against co-ordinated teams who continually harass the better players or more threatening characters.

“i, unlike you, am not naive enough or self absorbed enough to believe that i was just that much better than every single one of those players.” < No, you’re naive enough to believe that because Galilea was a good counter o your character or your playstyle that she must be “OP” and needs to be nerfed. Change your own game plan instead of wanting everything to be dumbed down to suit you.

again, you have incredibly bad reasoning skills. if we were on the same character and i was losing 1v1, then your argument would make sense. if there is a character that is not balanced, your argument makes no sense, which is the case here. and i clearly distinguished that i maintained stats in both betas which more than prove i am not bad at the game. the command rank just proves that i am experienced.

what you are failing to realize or comprehend is that you should not have to tag team or gang up, or run away from a brawler character if you are playing as an assassin. that is not how this game works. your understanding of mobas and how they operate is where the problem is here. this is not destiny or cod. characters are classified. miko for instance is a healer. if miko starts to be able to solo equally skilled assassins in a 1v1, there is a problem with miko, not the person playing the assassin. there are plenty of things in a game that need to be adapted to. things like playstyles, grimey team compositions, cheap tactics, etc. But character balance does not fall into that category. your counter as an assassin character should not be that you have to gang up on, or run away from a brawler. not in this game. she’s a brawler because she meets other criteria not present in healers, supports, or assassins. mainly her survivability is what makes her a brawler. you can’t have everything in one character.

Sigh You just voided your whole argument.

As for my understanding, it is yours that is flawed, your understanding seems to be that that you should be able to beat any player all the time based on the character you use and if you can’t than that character who you can’t beat should be nerfed to suit your character or playstyle. I gave you a few options to beating Galilea, alter your playstyle, use a different character, use CC to your advantage, flank her, draw her out. She’s not just a brawler she’s “territorial” and she’s classified as a defender so don’t just rush her head on then complain when you lose, the problem isn’t with Galilea it’s with the way players like you approach her and with 80+ hours and 200+ games in the open beta I saw a lot of it and sighed continually when one player or team outleveled me because some cocky fool kept feeding kills to the opposition then either rage quitting or voting for surrender when they were outmatched. It’s a team game, you’re just one player, the problem is that you expect to be able to beat everyone and instead of finding a solution when you can’t you want the game to suit your level instead of rising to suit the level of the game.

you’re essentially calling me a liar here, and i do not appreciate that. please refrain from that sort of talk on the forum. your opinion of me means absolutely nothing, so why would i lie to you? i do not feel that i should be able to beat any character 100 pct of the time on any one character. but in a moba, rock should beat scissors, and paper should beat rock, and scissors should beat paper. currently galilea does not have an assassin that can effectively 1v1 her in an equally skilled encounter. this is inevitable in any game that there will be one character, but in this game that role is reserved for fast, high dps assassin type characters, not tanky territorial brawlers. i do not play rath other than once in a blue moon, but that role should be someone like him or phoebe, or deande. it should never be a miko. it should never be a thorn or a marqis. it should never be montana. all of these characters are strong in their role. great galilea players were not camping around playing the bait game and being “territorial.” They were often overextending. the perfect time for an assassin to make a territorial brawler pay for being out of position. only that wasn’t what was happening. you need to do some research into the character types. having ranged characters kite her is not supposed to be the only counter to a territorial brawler

This debate is over for me, you continue to complain while I continue to understand the game mechanics and know how to counter certain characters, like Galilea, makes no difference to me. I’m giving you solutions but you’re refusing to acknowledge them while continuing to complain, good day to you.

Your moustache may indeed be bigger and/or better than mine, but my beard makes Jesus look like a pre-pubescent child with his first pubic hair. And with that I bid you good day!
Also, love the helmet, very reminiscent of the old-school Robocop back before the modern reboot destroyed the franchise.

Yeah thats like a 400-500 damage burst every 3rd swing, hence why they equip attack speed. The weird thing is she can sprint while attacking, i dont know any other melee who can do this and it doesnt say anything on her profile. Additionally, she only does her spin/burst if she attacks while moving. This is… weird. If she holds still its just a slash/slash combo, much weaker, but if shes running and attacking she hurts a lot more. I’d like to see this reversed. If shes going to be gifted sprint melee, make it the weaker option. Standing still to spin to cleave waves, makes sense. Or make sprint melee a helix, like other classes. Or make her super combo a helix, like other classes, they helix in additional attacks. Gali feels like she has 3 free helix’s right now.
Maybe move the level 3 helix with something else, shes already got a comfy early game with her stun and lane clear. HP is pretty much half as important as shields so 300 shield and 1300hp isnt something to scoff at.

Wow I didn’t know that but it makes a lot of sense now, on a few occasions I was retreating from Galilea but she was still hitting me while chasing and I was like she doesn’t move that fast WTF. Ouch, sprint attacking is pretty harsh. And it’s always her spin attack as well!? Well aint that a kick in the nards, I hope something is done about that :confused:

every 3rd swing is a spin attack which strikes 4 times for half damage + shoots 5 energy blasts if available. I find it weird that a territorial would get that, sounds like a skirmisher thing.

my (real) beard is short u_u but i honestly like it that way, i cut it every day, if i had not, in 3 weeks i look like a zztop guy.
it’s not that nice to have so much beard, specially when good blades are $50 and they only last a week sharp.

anyway thanks for the compliment, ive been struggling with realistic cgi rendering lately.

I agree, that’s total crap. I think the people here calling for a nerf are complaining about the wrong things.

Thanks for clarifying on the damage output and informing me about her sprint attack! I’ll still stick to Deande regardless, she’s by far my favourite and my best, and a little tip I find her to be one of the best Galilea counters only behind Benedict and probably Oscar Mike :wink:

I hate shaving my beard, it only grows back and creates more problems, I occasionally shave the sides with electric clippers and go for the goatee look. Good razors are too expensive and as you said they don’t stay sharp for long.

A discussion about facial hair on a gaming forum may be the most bizarre conversation I have ever been a part of lol xD

Honestly a little bit of shield penetration would nullify it pretty quick, but cant ignore how effective the burst is just for ganking people, which is how shes often played. Plus it still makes her a MONSTER at killing mercs and super minions, so counters dont really ‘end’ the problem

Shield penetration would be great against Galilea, I’ve thought about it many times, but few players use it over damage or defensive buffs in their helix or their gear. Aside from fighting Galilea, shield penetration isn’t really that useful, most players will retreat for heals if their health is low instead of waiting for their shield to recharge then re-entering the fight. 300 shield isn’t really that strong, but when she can stun, pull, and silence, she can keep it up for long enough that when you do break it and chip away at her health you’ve already lost the fight.

I like the fact that Galilea has so much CC, and so she should, but that one skill that can turn her from the territorial brawler she is into the lead slayer that she’s commonly used as has got to go…

it’s a hybrid anon fórum with images. some really, really interesting stuff, but that’s only 0.1% of the content.

the rest is stuff that either makes you scratch your head or go straight for the theraphy sessions.

along that 0.1% you find solar panels blueprints you can make at your home, hydrophonics and quantum physics experts who can explain you why waves go nuts when treated as particles, and viceversa, but not when you apply the same two principles to light sources

then again in that same ratio ocassionally you find snuff, hackers, even assasins for hire, some dark forbidden stuff you don’t even want to know.

if you get past that 99.9% of crap imagery, you could find that corner of enlightment or find yourself crying for th world we live in.

I know next to nothing about quantum physics to be fair, though I have been researching how to make solar panels out of aluminium cans and biofuels.

And bombs, I swear I’m not a terrorist I just have this innate interest in explosives. And blades, I love bladed weapons but not to be used as weapons just for visual enjoyment, I love the artwork that goes into crafting a beautiful blade.
