If the event is in Midnight’s Cairn, why can’t the start of that map be a save point? If I quit and re load (Ie farming the trio boss) the game sends me back to Sanctuary.

If you’ve finished it you will start at the beginning of Takedown when save/quit. If you’ve freshly entered it a trick I discovered is to go flip the switch then kill yourself and respawn. From that point you can save/quit and it should start you in Takedown.
If you are just repeat farming the Valks I recommend just Traveling to Sanctuary and back instead of save/quit and this way you can keep your same modifiers.
I didn’t know that reset the mobs. I’ll give it a try.
But that doesn’t mean it can;t be a save point like every other map in the game.
