Matched set "Heat"?

Thiccfila is legit and a nice guy to boot.

Yep, I have had some interactions with ThiccFila on here and he seems to know his stuff! And is nice.

Honestly, I miss Derch quite a bit. For at least the past 5-6 years, he was my go-to for BL nitty-gritty information.

DPJ is decent as well and there are others…

Come to this forum.

I pretty much stick to the forums when looking for help or ideas.
I have never been big on YouTubers or streamers. I would much rather be playing the game than watching someone else play a game.
For me, reading stuff sinks in alot more than a video. Just the way I have always been.
I appreciate all of the forumers here for their respect of all players, no matter what level or skill, and willingness to help.

Did Derch take a break? Last I spoke to him was December when I took a break.

I don’t know him personally but he has not posted on YT lately and I have not seen him around here. So I assume he is taking at least some sort of break from making content.

I also have not heard from him since December. He is on a Discord I frequent. Will send him a message.

EDIT: Derch is fine…working from home during the crisis. Appears life has changed for him and he is heavy into other stuff. He did buy BL3 on Steam.

Gotta say, this where us FL4K mains have it best. Most of the Youtubers for FL4K are pretty well researched. We’ve got:

  1. The Man, the Myth, the Legend - Dakquan
  2. Abbyhour has very solid builds, and streams frequently too.
  3. Chadly doesn’t seem too bad from the few videos I’ve seen.

I don’t have any others I’ve found yet (I’m very picky when it comes to Youtubers, if you don’t do something I’m not seeing anywhere else I don’t want to watch you) but I think we’ve got a great group producing content for us!

Glad to hear it! I know it wasn’t his job and it’s not like he owes us, but it’s weird when you don’t hear from someone so vocal in the community…

Thanks @johnrr6 for the update. Derch seems like a nice guy and I am glad to hear he is doing well.

You mentioned Chadly in your post. I think his videos seem pretty good most of the time, but he doesn’t seem to be the ā€œscientistā€ like Dakquan, Demonite, or Derch generally. But Chadly’s builds and info are pretty solid. A lot of times he is just taking what others have done (here or elsewhere) and sort of expanding on it, which I can appreciate. That said, he had a creative video today using the Red Queen in a way I have never seen or done before myself.

I would also recommend checking out Chillfeed if you haven’t. I have not watched a ton of his stuff, but he seems pretty knowledgeable as well.

Sorry to inform you but @sammantixbb is the Red Queen / Unforgiven pioneer, he likely saw it here .

thats usually my pet peeve with YT. at least give credit where it’s due. some of them are good for it, but a lot claim stuff as their own idea. at least give a shout out to where stuff is being discussed and showcased so that people can at least go and get informed themselves.

I’ll check out Chillfeed.

The only thing that sucks about FL4K’s content creators is that while they put out quality content, it isn’t their job so the stream can run pretty dry. It’s awesome when we do get stuff, but I wouldn’t mind some people who post more frequently, even if their content isn’t on the same level as Dakquan and Abby.

I’ll give him this: I never noted that the one half stuck consistently.

But I’ll also point out, after spending a half hour working with that mechanic to gank Traunt with it, I had better luck before knowing it. I don’t think trying to use the right side catch is gonna be nearly as effective as aiming the beam once.

To be fair, Traunts movement and the physics applied to the Red Queen aren’t great for the idea, but, @tysonyar here’s the video I uploaded about a week ago https://youtu.be/fRdj0okzvVU

I wish I could say I enjoy her Moze videos, but they’re bad in my opinion. Her FL4K videos, on the other hand, are great - I totally agree.

Didn’t she take her Frozen Heart Moze through M4 TTD? At the very least, doing even scaled M4 TD with that Frozen Heart build is pretty cool.

It seems like a lot of people don’t really have a great handle on Moze. There’s a lot to get wrong.

I think that is part of why you see so many Amara and Zane videos. They are popular because they are very strong. The Market demands it. Now with these Moze buffs you are starting to see them make the switch the Moze to jump on the monetary hype train. Only problem is the poor understanding of game mechanics or bad information, because many just started playing Moze a few weeks ago.

Just barely. Even with the edited footage, you could see the struggle. I could appreciate her Moze builds more if they were framed as ā€œchallengeā€ builds and not as ā€œrecommendedā€ builds.

That’s the new thing with the BL3 YT community. As far as I know, for every Borderlands game from 1 to TPS, most of the popular Yotubers tended to be forumites, even if they weren’t frequent posters. Bahroo, Goth, and MAK all started out on the forums, as did MoLMF, Aether, Derch, and Demonite.

For BL3, a lot of the ā€œold guardā€ so to speak aren’t making content for this game, and the most popular Youtubers are people who just seem to drop by for a quick looksy then leave. They may be dipping into multiple communities like the Discord server, but for the most part there seems to be a disconnect between BL3 content creators and the math nerds who do all the experimenting, so there is a lot of conflicting info out there.

Gotta hand it to her though, clearing TTD with a challenge build is still pretty impressive. There are more options for people who don’t like Vampyr, but I think there is something to be said for people who can carry an unoptimized build through the toughest content the game has to offer. And thank the YT gods that there is someone who actually showed a clear of TTD that was a struggle. I can’t find those anywhere!
