So i’m level 24 and i’m getting paired with people lower than level 10 again people 20 or higher. has happened to me twice already. Is their any matchmaking pairing or is just random cause this is ridiculous.
If the matchmaking is well made than they work with a player elo and not the account level.
But an elo system needs much more games to rate the players accurate than this short beta.
I’m having the same problem. They’re balancing out our experience with lower level people. It sucks but it’s how it’s gonna b. Add me on ps4 if u like . HammerxofxLight
Randy said last night that skill-based matchmaking hasn’t been enabled yet. They hope to enable it during beta at some point.
I feel I have to add that skill-based matchmaking and level-based matchmaking are not the same thing. I managed to get a really high level playing in the CTT but that didn’t make me more skilled, just a bit more experienced. The main difference is that lower level players will have less characters to choose from, which limits the flexibility they can bring to each game.
I think it should be level based considering the a level 20 should have more of an idea on how some characters work such as what to do and what not to do with a character more so then a person who just started and is at level one
I do not think there are enough players who have played enough matches to get a sense of skill for match making purposes. The open beta has been live now for less than 72 hours. Most players have not played 20, 50, or 100 matches. It is uncommon still to see people at Command Rank 30+, with most seeming to be in the 5-12 range. Given that range takes only a few matches to get into, it is easy to see that it is going to be hard to balance teams.
However, I do agree that matchmaking is extremely important and I hope it works well once the game has settled out. It sucks to be on the team that gets lambasted (I have lost Paradise 500-0), and it is not much more fun to crush the other team (I have also won Paradise 500-0).
It has happened often to me as well but like someone else said I think its just from there being a lack of people near this level.
so many people are over 20. i’ve seen 40’s and a couple 50’s. sorry i have time on my hands to play and i enjoy playing the game.
I’m level 29 right now I put in some hours after midnight but if you play as ambra you can really pile on the points that’s mainly how I got to 29.
If I notice there isn’t at least a Healer on the team I will select Miko otherwise I will go with the DPS class if there is A Healer. I find that usually the team with the Healer and a tank class or at least a Healer wins way more than half the time as long as it’s a competent healer.
I think they need to make a cue system kind of like your traditional MMORPG where there has to be a mixture of tank healer DPS and or support subbed in. And call it X game mode so that anyone can select this game mode and there’s a good mixture of players maybe keep what they have but add a balanced game mode to be selected so that when you join you’re not with a whole bunch of DPSS and glass cannons.
They are still zeroing in on the best matchmaking algorithm. Im pretty sure it has yet to be implemented.
as someone with thousands of hours playing other games competitively, sbmm is the absolute worst thing they could do to this game. it has completely ruined destiny. they really just need to have a ranked playlist and leave the regular playlists completely randomized. they need to make sure they separate premades from randoms as well.
life is tough sometimes. sometimes you play better players, sometimes you play scrubs. but that is the only way. by introducing sbmm, EVERY game is sweaty and you no longer have any fun. it ruins games. it lasted in CoD for about a day… Then it was removed
That’s cause cod players just want to win. Equal challenge does not get rid of fun.
I also think that global player level statistics (in other words who is which level) is probably very different when compared to launch. It’s IMO impossible to tune it perfectly at the moment, the real data will come out probably after the launch.
Don’t forget that whole purpose of Beta is for testing / tuning.
Also bad matchups in public matches happen. Ideally, game should prioritize putting solo players against solo players but it also depends by a size of the player pool, it could be double edged sword.
Indeed, it sure seems that way with my nephew when it comes to Call of Duty. I asked him what he was doing while visiting and he said “Pub stomping.” Sure enough, he and his team were dominating. I asked if that is what he always does and he said yes, and when further pressed said he just likes winning and maintaining his high K/D ratio.
Suffice to say, I feel the opposite. I genuinely enjoy close games, not necessarily wins. If every match ended closely, I see no problem. I’d rather sweat than win 100–0 or lose 0-100 which are both things I have done this open beta.
I don’t mind playing with people around lvl 10(My command is around lvl 30 now) but it’s so unfair to play against people of lvl 1! Yesterday, I was in a game with me, someone of lvl 16, 7, 13 and 10. And we were against a team with 2 lvl 1 players in it! Those people have not played a lot of the game, and you can’t expect them to know everything yet. It might even be their first game, and it doesn’t feel right to play against such low leveled people.
I hope they will match you with people about 5 ranks higher or lower than your own rank in the future…
you dont know what you’re asking for. there is a time and a place for a balanced sweat. that time and place should be of your choosing in either a ranked playlist or a pvt match. those games are fun when you want them, but when you have to sweat every single game, it gets old fast
Wouldn’t it depend on how they set it up, though? Let’s assume for the moment that BB wil have a smaller playerbase than CoD or Overwatch. You’d have to have looser matchmaking requirements to keep the wait times from being too long, right? But you could match players of relative strength so that inexperienced players aren’t constantly roflstomped by veterans.
What I’m saying is, if you were in the top 5% and always matched with others in the top 5% (the kind of scenario you are thinking of) that would be a very different experience from being matched with the top 20% or top 33%, wouldn’t it? Genuinely asking.
