Yeah, action skills scale at base level, as did the enemies, so they scaled 1:1 with enemies in OP levels.

You can see it’s an obscure thread with not many replies, and it was discovered rather late in the game’s life cycle, so the news never got widespread. Still, action skills did scale at the same rate enemies did. Who would think scaling would be completely different between platforms?

For Gaige I used grenades (I never was a keen on chucking nades haha hence why I liked playing Zane) and a purple Tediore with bouncing balls which worked great with anarchy.

This is what I’d been telling my bro. No matter what you choose in life, have the balls to back it up. If you think it’s a mistake, have the balls to admit the mistake, then move forward.

Mayhem 11 does feel like a band-aid for what the modifiers do wrong. Do not get me wrong, it actually feels balance and fair compare to having them on, it actually feels like fun going around shooting and looting without the random bs and clutter on the screen. If the current modifiers would feel less restrictive to builds or guns then people might use them more.

What we got was not Mayhem 11 but Mayhem 9.5. It would have been a lot better just to have every half a level (0.5, 1.5, 2.5, etc.) be without modifiers with only half the rewards. That way anyone can enjoy the scaling without the randomness.

But then that leaves the current state of the modifiers. Work was definitely put in for these and making or adding new ones might mess what good spaghetti code might be left in the game. So, wouldn’t it be better to work with what we have?

Lets start with the easy modifiers: Don’t touch those.
Maybe just have Galaxy Brain be for everyone except yourself. They are suppose to be easy. So why give the enemies a bigger hitbox. Besides that they are mostly good.

Medium modifiers.
From my point of view only ones that seems balance are Mob Mentality(MM), Floor is Lava(FiL) and Healing Avenger(HA).All give the enemy a slight advantage but nothing that cannot be dealt with. HA can be shot down, with MM you just chuck a nade and most mobs will jump away from each other and with FiL you just walk.
Then there’s: Charred Mode(CM), High Voltage(HV), Acid Reign(AR), Chilling Them Softly(CT), Totally Radical(TR). Not many or if any like them for one reason: immunity. It can mess builds or your favorite gun, no one likes that. Then lets make them fair, remove the immunity and increase the nova damage or its range, not by a lot though, I don’t want to see the same mess that was with the enemies getting M10 weapons.
On to Freeze Tag(FT). Just reduce its HP to Healing Drone levels, maybe just a bit higher than one, like less of that of a Tink. Annoying: check, easy to get rid of: OH HELL NO. When this spawns its either empty everything you got on it or run really far, but by then it is already too late. With this one would still prioritize it but not feel like “Aw man, here I go dying again”.
And there is Pain Tolerance(PT). Just remove it. Why do enemies should have a better Damage Reduction formula than the Vault hunters. Is it possible to just one shot an enemy? Yes, but what of multi-pellet weapons? DoT? Weapons that can’t one shot? Muh Dying Breath, Muh Maggie. This modifier is just a nerf to all weapons.

Hard Modifiers
Chain Gang(CG), Drone Ranger(DR), Pool Party(PP), Laser Fare(LF), Boundary Issues(BI).
These are FAIR for being Hard with BI being the hardest. Followed close by PP(that’s what she said, HEYOOOOOO!..sorry, not sorry).
But then we have Ticked Off (TO). This is just a straight NERF to DoT. To the trash with this just like PT.

Very Hard
Only two are fair: Buddy System(BS) and Rouge Lite(RL).
BS is full immunity with a mechanic and RL is now more tolerable thanks to the removal M10 weapons from the enemies.
Post Mortem(PM) just needs its health reduced to the same level or a bit higher than FT, the instant down part is good.
With Dazed and Infused(Dai) it applies what is mentioned earlier, remove the immunity.
Last but not least is there is Not the Face(NtF) and Holy Crit(HC). Trash them.
NtF is a nerf for aiming good and while HC looks good on paper it feels like it only works well with Galaxy Brain. Even for Fl4k its a nerf unless you are aiming for the crit spot(I might be wrong on this one but is Fl4ks red tree capstone is not a “true crit”? HC might be a DPS down, or is it an up?)

Simple solutions for simple problems. Maybe move a few modifiers up a rank to level the pool.
If the modifiers actually felt balance then maybe this thread would not be here. Heck, if we didn’t like the game this thread would not be here.

TL;DR: Change things to modifiers to make them feel fair and not punishing for trying to enjoy the game.

PS. If someone at Gearbox reads this only one modifier needs to be added: Low Gravity for them sick plays (BASKETBAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAALLLLLLLLLL).

Lol that’s how bl4 will be created. They’ll clean the slate with bl3 and introduce sth else entirely. Or maybe not who knows at this point?
