is it me or are trash mobs with double/tripple health broken?

normal enemies feel harder then bosses! just tried playing slaughterhouse and i couldn’t kill a single guy! my weapons tickled them…

i think i’m through my bullets after the first wave (stayed alive for 15 minuits but eventualy died because i couldn’t dent anything…)

bosses are fine… i killed most of them on M4 and that’s why i came to the conclusion that normal mobs with armor are just impossible to kill… shields no problem, armor just feels broken AF! (tested every corrosive weapon i have and non seem to do any damage)

Yeah I’ve noticed that heh. An armored badass zealot took a lot longer to bring down than the two anointeds I fought in the same run (including the infamous anointed militant aka Mr. Hi-There-I’m-Immune-99%-Of-The-Time.)

As a side note… I’m pretty pleased with Iron Bear’s power now (even though a couple of his buffs are reportedly not actually working). Hopped in Iron Bear, melted an anointed tink with a barrage of rockets in M4 (I always just use dual plain rockets, no augments.) I wasn’t really expecting that, so I was pleasantly surprised.

Anyway, I’m OK with M4. My biggest issue with the other mayhem modes were all the random modifiers, which I’ve never been a real fan of going all the way back to the Underdome in BL1. I mean, once in a while I like that style of adjusting on the fly to some nerf or weird play mechanic, but it’s not something I want to deal with every session I play for sure. I like the mayhem modes in BL3 for the tougher enemies and better rewards, but not the wonky modifiers. So yeah, I’m mostly OK with M4. As has been mentioned, multi-bar mobs seem unusually tough, but I guess we’ll see how things really are once guardian ranks are fixed and all those perks are factored back in overall.

I wonder: why ppl even bother killing Haunt in Mayhem 4? Is it faster? It’s not like Loot Ghosts don’t drop 2-3 BH legendaries already. On New Game not Mayhem whatever.

Thanks for the tips! I had been farming gigamind prior to starting The Outer Worlds and will have to get to BL3 soon, I miss it.

I also need to get more comfortable at Mayhem 2. It’s not that big of a leap from M1 but I can’t imagine how much more difficult the bosses will be in M3 and 4!!

I’ll also check to see if I’ve finished Clap and Zero’s quest, and/or, if I have those weapons. I don’t get rid of any legendaries even if they’re the early level versions.

Ohhhhh, and that trick I’ll be trying tonight, thanks again for that, I won’t tell anyone, hahahahaha!!!

But GBX had the wonderful idea to gate legendaries on M4. Even if I don’t want to play on M4, if a want these legendaries, I have to.
Or pay for these on those pages. What does GBX think about this? The game has no official microtransactions, but it really has.

You can get those legendaries from Maliwan Blacksite on any difficulty.

That run brings up loads of good anointed weapons…IMO.

great idea - bit like a goliath yeah?

Thanks. It’s really not exactly an original idea. This is just similar to mechanics that MMOs have used for years in raid encounters. There are probably a lot of ideas from MMO raid mechanics that GB could steal or modify to make way more interesting mayhem modifiers that also don’t diminish guns or builds. I happen to like the one I posted because I think it would work well in the context of B3 gameplay but I’m sure there are plenty of others if the right people were putting forth the effort.

If you’re referring to those big orbs that strafe in the beginning area of MT, those were some of the easier enemies for me to kill on Zane (running the standard cryo build). I’d pull out my shock Damned, with +50% cryo on SNTNL, and freeze them quick. Then they just drop to the ground like a big ice cube and I’d have my way with them.

Yea I was doing it on Fl4k at the time. I’ve since learned you can just skip those

I don’t know which VH you’re running, but Breath of the Dying with +50% cryo on SNTNL for Zane is my “go to” anti-armor weapon, and it just demolishes anything with armor given the double anti-armor elements. You could probably get the same results with a similar anointed + corrosive version of any decent AR, such as the Damned, Kaos, or even Star Helix. YMMV.

That sounds amazing, I love that gun!

This is so bad and lame.

"We need a, more difficult mode than m3. Well just cramp up health of enemies! This is such a groundbreaking and original idea!”

Just shame on you gearbox.

And yeah gameplay wise it just sucks an is annoying. This is just no fun sinking countlees mags into enemies.

Worst part is this reduces build variety heavily. Because you now need to focus on damage output alone. Otherwise you will die of boredom

As a solo player mostly I find m4 a real bitch …

That being said it’s also a bitch for 4 player randoms …

I do feel it’s good n possibly easy as a 4.player premade group who communicate and focus down the same enemies as a team …

Hiding drops behind group content is wrong

But group content being harder should have perks for doing it … But drop rates increase so there is that … But how about creating group use anointments like we had in other Borderlands

So moze may have ammo regen for group,
Amara health regen
Zane sheild regen
Fl4k increased accuracy n weapon handling

Solo players don’t need those … So hide those anointments behind group play content

Add others too so we start to see better cross build synergy

I have been soloing TVHM on M4, and it feels a lot easier than the Maliwan Takedown does on NVHM M1. I have yet to beat MT on any Mayhem mode. I can get to the boss, then I get hammered.

M4 is like BL2 UVHM without the Slag mechanic.

A little bullet-spongy, I agree with. Corrosive shields, I think, are the worst. It’s like the Corrosive element has not been buffed enough to cope. But most other enemies, I have little trouble with.

The anointed; some of which seem to be tripping many people up, I deal with using a Q-System Assault Rifle (from Earl). Jump and Slide like a nutter while firing that thing off, seems to do the trick.

what a fun play style to engage in  use a gun with auto aim while sliding away from the enemies poggers toats can’t see how people would be against that kind of awesomeness

So summarizing a day of borderlands 3…I thought I would give it go again…sacraficed a good portion of my day. I played 8 hours:

  • 15 times my console switched off when joining others
  • 8 times Connection lost during maliwan takedown
  • in general laggy experience
  • 90% played Amara for obvious reasons. She gets a speed class mod with crazy damage and Zane for example gets a ridiculous class mod. Should it be the other way around.
  • and not to forget most non-Amara players leaving the lobby if not enough sirens are in the team

I’m mowing down m4 pretty easily with an ammo regen terrified fire lyuda rakk build. M4 just forces you to find the next OP thing, and once you do, it’s the sos. Nothing new or interesting to see here.

Only possible with terror which should have disappeared in my opinion.
