Hey there.

Thanks for reverting back to us.

Extremely sorry for the delay in response.

I have some Information regarding the Mayhem mode, Please look into it.

  • Mayhem mode is unlocked after first play through on each character.
  • It can be used in normal or in the True vault hunter mode.
  • If you are at True vault hunter mode and you finished the normal one, you have to wait until you unlocked the sanctuary in the story in order to use mayhem mode.
  • Mayhem mode is controlled via console on sanctuary.

Thanks for sharing! So if you don’t have access to mayhem once you get to Sanctuary in TVHM, then submit a ticket. You should have access.

how do the bonus stack up normal vs tvhm? risk vs reward.
better to play mayhem 3 on normal vs tvhm mayhem 1 ?

That I would have to test. I haven’t really tried mayhem 3 in Normal mode. I do know that mayhem 3 in TVHM is ridiculous with loot. A fun kinda ridiculous, though.

People are submitting tickets but it seems that 2K is handing tech support and not Gearbox. They keep coming back with level 1 tech support fixes and explanations about what mayhem is and not acknowledging that there is a problem specific to consoles.

The treat us like we’re doing something wrong and not passing the info on to the team.

I can confirm on console you have to play through the story on both normal and tvhm to unlock mayhem

You can reset tvhm with mayhem engaged …

But I don’t know if once at sanctuary you can reset mayhem via the interface as I’m not at sanctuary yet

Having gotten to sanctuary I can now confirm that you do NOT have access to the console

So you get locked into which ever mayhem mode you chose when you reset tvhm until you complete the story

Luckily I went with mayhem 2

So basically you lose the mayhem interface on console until story is completed each time you reset

Or at least it has for me

It shouldn’t be that way though. You need to submit a support ticket for that. I just reset my Fl4k playthrough, made it to Sanctuary, and enabled mayhem 3 through the console.

I had the had the good fortune of selecting mayhem 3. Took me quite awhile to get back to the ship!

I’ve passed this issue on to the Community Manager. I would recommend filing a support ticket as well though. One question: is Mayhem mode independent between normal and true? In other words, if you’re in TVHM can you load back into NVHM, change Mayhem mode, then load back in to TVHM and have the change carry over? Or are the two modes completely independent that way?

I’ve not checked to be honest but assuming tvhm first run had no mayhem mode but mayhem was still active on normal mode I would say they are instanced for each play type

I have also reset missions in tvhm after completing and engaging mayhem and while mayhem stays active I unable to change the difficulty until I’ve completed storey to re-unlock the mayhem console … I’m on ps4
