Is unfair how deande vs rath or phoebe needs to get stabed before she can deal some dmg lol.

Nicely done video. Actually very informative.
My feeling is that melee reach should scale higher based on the attack pattern.
So say a 360 degree range should have a shorter reach than a 45 degree range.
Meaning that Phoebe should, in theory, have a longer reach than Galilea.
Unfortunately, that isn’t the case.
Actually phoebes reach is higher than Galilea but Galilea has that bubble.
Melka, boldur, atikus and deande have the worst meele reach.
But melka has high mobility, boldur has high survavility, atikus has a big hp pool and dmg and deande… She is pretty
And she can smoothly transition into ranged
Phoebe wasn’t the best example, but her reach is only a touch further than Galilea’s considering Gallilea’s easy mode full 360 (above and below) attack bubble.
Point is, limited reach should be reflected in an imcreased range, with some allowances for differences in character.
Here comes the hard decision lvl 3 right or left? Right gives an amazing sustain while left increas ranged dmg (middle drops your meele dmg).
@crummysaint indeed… Melka kit is crap, her meele dmg is low + needs to be rly close+ spike is the same. Now i wonder why they reduced her hp!! @EdenSophia
I was always under the impression that you were supposed to envenomate your target/poke from a distance, then close in with her melee combo to finish them off… But it doesn’t seem like her melee any more than just her machine pistol. (I’m talking about her LT melee fury, not offhand melee)
Good idea.
I wouldn’t argue that her ranged is great but at least she has something to do on her way to Rath
Would be cool to have a video where we can estimate sizes of - how do they called? - hit spots of melee heroes. Like, Deande sweeps her fans from side to side but actual spot where she hits her target is right in the center of the screen. A bit to the side, and she misses. Annoying.
While that spot is about the same size as Phoebe’s, Phoebe’s hits are easier to land because of the movement she does. Deande’s wide sweeps distract and confuse you about what you can and cannot hit.
Well, in the case of both Melka and Caldarius their reach is tempered by thier closing speed and overall mobility.
Really hope we can get a dev in here so they can share their thoughts.
S+A should definitely have the best melee range. Well, her and rath.
Great video dude/dudette! I have a rough sense of what the ranges of the melee characters I play are but it’s nice to have it so precise.
@Jythri, maybe a visual indicator when enemies are w/i range? Normally the reticle is red (I know the color depends on the player’s selected team color) when pointed at an enemy at any range. Maybe it stays white until the enemy being pointed to is w/o the melee characters range.
What about heroes with both melee and range capabilities? Deande, S&A, Mellka, Caldy, Galilea, Pendles.
I “think” that is what the developers had in mind when creating her, but in execution, using her melee actually hinders your dps, especially with the reduction to venom time. And with the HP nerf, melee borders on suicide. It’s unlikely you’ll even get the full melee combo (alt fire) in before the venom wears off.
So yeah. All machine pistol and spike all the time. Claw lunge for escape @EdenSophia has a truly fantastic write-up on Melka in the Melka section.
Good point. I completely forgot about that. How about this? The reticle pulsates when w/i melee striking distance.
Perhaps add a visual cue (some sort of mark) that shows up when you are within melee range? Different for each character to it matches their current targeting reticle?
I’m not a fan of blinking, probably lighting up different parts of reticle would be enough.
