I always bum around the house in my boxers, so when I got really good at BL2 I thought I was some gaming prodigy master or something. Then I saw Derch’s video about gaming in pants v pantsless and I decided to put pants on. I was ■■■■, so ■■■■. He ruined my life, Derch did, I lost all confidence. Still, now I can differentiate between a truly good player and an average pantsless one, and I recognise pantsed players just by their equipped weapons.
Seriously though, nice kill on the Scorches there, I see what you did and why you used the ledge, bravo good sir that was a brilliant tactic, you have to be clever with melee Zer0 and as we all know pants inhibit your cleverness.

I’ve no idea where this no pants joke originates from (I’ve seen the vids from Derch and DeMoNiTe but I guess there’s something before those?) but it always cracks me up.
I wanna see the scorch part now. I’ll have to look through those later tonight.

I dunno how it started either but I guess it became a pretty popular joke around here lol.

Great stuff adding the Peak areas by room, sir! I may need to consolidate clips similarly in the other threads.

That was your idea! I saw your post for Zero’s area specific tactics for the Peak and thought that would be a good way to show my progress. So, thank you.

I tried a few “hiding areas” and I think this is the best strategy for taking care of the Scorches:

hahah, nice.
I go with the “deception in the wall” tactic to dispatch surveyors, otherwise it takes ages.

That was a fun clip! Well timed at the end of Deception!

Good tip!
I’m going to try that for the Badass Surveyor that spawns in the first section (which is one of the three spawns there). If I can’t get it to latch onto a damaged enemy, it becomes a pain in the arse to deal with.

yeah, exactly.
I don’t like to do it, but I like even less trying to kill them with guns; then again, I never thought about using a norfleet to kill them: bold move, I must say!
To be fair lately I found out a new strategy, but it’s not easy to pull off: basically wait for them to circle around then, when they start heading straight for you, cast deception behind yourself and execute when they’re near enough, before they shoot (that’s when they bank again); if you time it right, they’re easy to catch.

Try to slag, then throw your Chain Lightning out to strip them. The surveyor must be in the distance for the grenade to strip. I generally use the splash damage of the Norfleet, off the ground or walls to down them. With the Badass Surveyors this tactic doesn’t work as well because it takes at least for Chain Lightnings to strip, if it strips it at all.

I’ve been messing around with the “deception in the wall” strategy with other sections of the Peak and it seems to make the enemies docile (they forget that I am there). Don’t know if this is a so called “cheat”, but an interesting strategy.
Anyway, while I was testing this with the Black Queens, something even more surprising happened:

they must have thought: “ouch”!
The power of the Interfacer plus b0re.
It’s kind of a glitch: they target the hologram, but it’s unreachable so they get out of fight; that’s why I don’t like using it and I resort to it only for surveyors, and only when I can’t make the tactic I explained above work.

Dude, just a heads up.
Sending your decoy into the wall deaggros enemies. You can see their red dots disappearing from the minimap, because they are no longer aggressive. As far as they are concerned, you are out of bounds/reach, you don’t exist, so they have nothing to attack, and naturally they become a lot more lax.
Now you can do whatever you want in your own game, but in general, deaggroing them like that is not considered legit, for what that’s worth. It’s a whole lot easier to, say, execute scorch when he’s just casually strolling instead of going full ham, firing off novas and the like. Not to mention something like vorac. There’s been some rather heated discussions surrounding that specific tactic in the past, and runs have been pulled as a result of its use. It is considered a cheat among a lot of people.
Again, play how you want, just letting you know.

I wasn’t sure, but did mention that this was a “cheat” or an exploit. Thanks for the heads up.
