Hi, I’m late to the party! Last week I started my 3rd new playthrough with Zer0 (1st: Gaige; 2nd: Maya), which is now near the end of NVHM.

Initially I planned to have a gun build for raiding, but CA stacking is not my thing & B0re doesn’t need so many skill points - and more importantly, I’m brainwashed by this thread :smirk: So I’m now switching to a melee-first play style. I try to melee every reachable enemy (flying things excluded), and for bosses like BNK-3R, Saturn, and the Warrior, I still prefer shooting them.

I want to beat every raid boss that my Maya cannot beat :yum:

Current problems for MMF chaining:

  1. how do you hit enemy at higher locations? e.g.: nomad standing on top of roof in Bloodshot.

  2. do you strip shield multiple times?

  3. do you hit bomers / EXP loaders or run away?

  4. how is the new decoy positioned after each kill?

  1. I walk up there until I’m level with them. If I think I can kill them with one hit, I Execute into the air until I hit them. If neither of those are feasible, I’ll just shoot them. Neither of my Assassins pack singularity grenades; I would absolutely use these to pull those guys off the ledges accordingly.

  2. I don’t! No Roid for me… the generally accepted practice is to use an appropriately-leveled Chain Lightning at your foot. This should strip your shield without eating into your health, and zap anyone near you at the same time.

  3. I hit them, but I’m also packing a shield. Nomad Pyros are my favorite. I don’t know what’s so satisfying about face-tanking those explosions. :metal:

  4. It’s positioned right where the kill took place.

  1. Execute gives you a rush of maybe 5 meters ( I really should figure that out ). You can strike straight up to any height ( you can melee a buzzard if it’s directly above you ) , so basically be as directly underneath the target as you can and you’ll be able to get them at considerable heights.

  2. Yes. Your average roid shield has a 3-4 second delay. If you’ve got DoTs on you, you don’t need to restrip. I’ve never done this but you could count 1,2,3, strip. Eventually you’ll just get a feeling for when.

  3. Both / either - as long as you hit them with a Moxxi, your health bar will stay full. More often than not I’ll let them explode in their own.

Scorch and black queen I thought would be similar in terms of health but holy ■■■■ the queen has so much more, I one hit scorch with the love thumper/rapier but black queen took 5 fully set up executes…

EXP Loaders=let decoy take the damage

Keep at it! You’ll drop them in one execute. :+1:

Idk what happened… Scorch died instantly but she wouldn’t drop :expressionless:

If it means anything I have the opposite experience. :man_shrugging:

Lmao ye scorch was a bitch my first few tries but after I realised you can lead em back to the first area make one go through the gate and lose aggro then you can aggro the other without both coming after you.

I’m wary of wading into this thread as I’m not a strong melee Zero player, but to answer question 2… depends on the shield you are using. If you are using a grounded roid shield and a chain lightning, then you will likely have to shield strip multiple times. If you are playing solo, you can use the Love Thumper and only have to shield strip once. The Love Thumper definitely made learning melee Zero a little easier for me, as you don’t have to focus on the shield strip for most of the fight.

Stripping shield at the beginning of Decepti0n is not hard, more often than not enemies just do it for you  Doing it again in MMF chain, however, requires more practice for me. Also with Chain Lightning shield stripping applies to enemies as well :stuck_out_tongue:

I’m using Maylay shield & Tesla, and don’t want to rely on LT as it will be underleveled very quickly before I get to 72.

yeah, I still have trouble with that as well, the extra strip in the middle of the MMF chain, just recommending the Love Thumper as a way to get around that problem… A maylay shield with max delay at like 5 or 6 seconds helps, but it’s not like having the Love Thumper that just stays down…

Something weird about midgets and Juggernaut:

  1. some midgets just can’t be hit by Rubi, but Rapier works
  2. there’re a few times when I execute on a Juggernaut, they get hit but their shield and health stay intact

Do these happen to you? And why?

Fixed that for you.

Thank you I guess lol

Nothing’s worse than scavengers’ back packs though.
Captain America should use those as shield in civil war

Tiny Tina skeleton’s helmets too have ruined a lot of mmf chains.
