Mellka’s poison damage output is way too high even for short encounters.
Some of the encounters I’ve been having with mellka players is the normal routine up until the acid damage.
That acid damage last way too long and does too much damage also it seems too slow as well and that’s kinda cheeky in the fact that your already tacking acid damage.
But the normal encounter now is like bang bang poison damage when you back at spawn the bam your dead really stupid stuff.
Please you this could be taken care of for the sake of unbalanced characters.

Mellka is by far one of the most balanced characters in this game. She’s only capable of being a threat at level 8 when she can apply venom to her bullets.
I can assure you her venom does’t have a slow effect. I have a legendary that applies a slow on attack every 10 seconds, so maybe the Mellka you encountered when you noticed a slow on you was running with that legendary. Also, the battles in this game get pretty damned hectic so there’s a good chance that another character actually hit you with a slow even if you only saw Mellka around

mellka is actually not broken on alani levels (pre-nerf gali levels).
she is designed to inflict damage over larger periods of time. her slows may come from her lvl 1 helix, where either the claw-punch or the spike-jump get a slow. The slow from her lore legendary is nothing you would notice heavily.
she wrecks heroes that rely on shield and shield regen, the poison ticks pretty long but not for horrendous damage. I always make sure to ‘tag’ as many targets as possible with my poison, damage ticks for like 14 / s so it’s not something you will notice actively - and here is her strength. you tick away slowly, and only jump in to secure the kill. it’s kinda like caldarius, who will chip at you until he sees an opportunity and only then engages all-in. but if you try to engage mellka she has some pretty hefty tools to retaliate. when built for the spike slow, the parting gift on spike and the jump height you can barely reach her while all her dots and slows sit on you. activating the homing ultimate on a half-life target is so satisfying
The poison really doesn’t do all that much damage. Over about 8 seconds, it does like about 15/sec. Also Spike or Claw Lunge can slow based off your level 1 helix, but that’s about it for slow. She’s really balanced, although she can shred unaware enemies and can just bounce around dealing damage.
No not really balanced at all i faced off with one at equal levels we were both at 2 her clip took out my shield but the poison took over half of my health what do you have to say to that and i was running whiskey foxtrot if you want know what character i was using
I say that you were using the wrong tactics against her then. I’ve got more game time with Mellka and WF than any of the other characters (30+ hours each) so I feel pretty qualified to comment on this exact situation. If you let a Mellka chew through your shield and put venom on you that early in the game, then you’re playing WF wrong. Her venom canister is a slow moving projectile with a very limited aoe. they’re pretty easy to avoid, up until she gets the level 3 frag canister helix that allows a wider are to be showered with venom. WF, being a late game character, shouldn’t be standing still or even in the same area long enough to have his shield and health dropped that dramatically. He can’t be played that aggressively early on. Hit’n’run is what early game WF does best. I’m sorry, but you really can’t call out Mellka for being OP, especially in the scenario you’ve put forward.
her poison didn’t remove half of your health. Her poison AND her next magazine full of bullet that crit you did that. if you want to be taken seriously, how about not exaggerating everything.

from my experience as being a mellka player, i’ve learned not to engage group fights head on but to really fill the assassin role and get in and out as quickly as possible with the venom. the fact the venom lasts after an encounter really scares people and will most likely run and panic
i dont expect to get kills but to purely assist the dps characters and just pick off whoever is low or scare off lost characters.
one tactic fighting against mellka is catching her off guard and as soon as she uses spike, thats when she’s most vulnerable since it really is a get away tacic, but then again that’s if your watching her fight another character. if facing her by yourself, i zig zag since the venom will come in horizontally and stay at a distance since spike is always a great tactic to either get away or scare and pick off
spike slow and parting gift is the only way to go! watching enemies run off because of the slow/venom combo is so satisfying, but then again, that’s if i’m at a decent health and not running myself

It’s odd that people feel her damage is the issue… the only real problem I have with Mellka is that she can just be nigh unkillable in the hands of any competent player.
Yes, she has low health, but HP numbers don’t really matter if you can’t get hit… By the time CC is able to hit her, she’s usually already leapt and lunged away, and her hitbox is basically the smallest in the game. Compared to someone like thorn, who has the same health, it really shows as when Thorn leaves the ground she’s actually extremely predictable on the return down, she can be tracked, she can be CC’d, and her hitbox is larger. Unless you silence and then CC a Mellka, she’s probably going to get away just fine.
Mellka’s the only character I know who will just dance by your sentry plugging away at people entirely oblivious to however many people are trying to hit her, since they essentially can’t.
And it’s odd as she doesn’t really have any class that she’s weak against… she can kite melee characters, tanks can’t touch her at all (lol @poor montana) good luck sniping her unless you’re god level. Realistically, there’s no reason to ever “not” have a Mellka on your team…
But the funny part is the damage is the bit I’m actually fine with.

So far I’ve had a ton of trouble with her “Poison and run” constantly and unless I’m fortunate enough to be somewhere I can get safe, especially on Meltdown, I’m screwed and yet it required so little input from the player that it’s overly frustrating. Who else has a move this is so “set it and forget it” and does that much damage over time? I think it’s a little too weighted when especially melee players require you be in their AoE for it to harm you, but hers stays applied for way too long. While in the AoE it should be the same damage it is, but after leaving it should drop off more and more, faster and faster unless you step back in the AoE. Just IMO
excuse my french but ■■■■■■■■ it doesnt even count for damage even now its broke maybe because of one of the hot fixes.
well it may be for 8 seconds but how much damage is dealt that is the real question we’ve tried to look into it during game it didnt come up it only showed the normal attack damage or skill damage
Well, I disagree that it’s putting out more damage than it should. I don’t get tagged by her all that often, and even when I do it’s a simple retreat until it wears off. That how she is supposed to play - applying pressure to the front lines. If her venom did less damage then people would ignore it and fight through
hah hah hah really now do you use small body characters i did too i used caldarius even marquis i got tagged once with that poison full health full shield after 8 seconds i was under half health if you say no then you already know and don’t want them to nerf her like they did alani
Well if you think that one of Mellka’s venom canisters did all of that, then I don’t know what to tell you other than you were mistaken. You must have taken damage from several other sources without realising. You can check the numbers for yourself here

I main Mellka;
Claw Lunge = 134
Spike = 200 +20 every second for 5 seconds (You said level 3 so she will have this mutation if shes good)
Venom Canister = 75-80? + 12 dmg/tick (24 DPS) for 8 seconds (Also pretty sure the helix choice for the canister exploding into smaller canisters doesnt stack venom, just resets timer and deals extra impact damage per small canister hit, pretty sure its less than the base impact damage)
20 bullets, 24 dmg per shot, full clip deals 480 dmg at 8.5 shots per second…
You had more than just a single Canister hit you, no way a single Canister took you down so low
yup, melkas venom is a little high and her jump skill is extreme high almost brake her neck with the top of the map xD

No. She was shooting the cap out of you as you ran.
