Basically it’s a buff against melees as they will have a harder time escaping it but a nerf against ranged characters. So yeah… Good time to be a Rath main… I uh, I’m going to get some games of outskirts in this weekend before the changes come in.

I’m looking forward to the world’s longest arc taser trailing away from me as I hyper-Lunge to the skybox…

We should just do 1v1 private matches every now and then. We both love our duels, and everything else just gets in our way, haha

I’ve ALWAYS been a “wait and see” kinda guy but…I just gotta echo that this was definitely not the mode that I expected to get overhauled. Like when they mentioned game mode changes I expected like…map adjustments and stuff.

Kudos trying to salvage Capture though. Don’t know how much it’ll help, but those were steps I woulda tried with the higher start level/gear and shared Varelsi EXP.

After months of training Rath would emerge with Mellka’s mobility and Mellka with Rath’s skill with melee.

Sits back closes eyes while imagining the glory that would be Rath flying through the air and flanking the enemies as if every map in the game was monuments

Jumps forward in horror at imagining your Mellka with viable melee

I love some of their choices. Others I may not. And may not play Meltdown as often

Talk about the land of misfit Battleborn. We’re talking about rath, Melka, phoebe and marquis like half the players in this game actually find them viable.

One of the things I like most about this draft mode is that the chances of Mellka getting banned seem very remote. :wink:

It was disheartening seeing the changes, but I’m tying to remain carefully optimistic. It could’ve been a nice experimental game mode. An alternative Meltdown, not the new Meltdown. But we’ll have to wait to wait and see how it all plays out.

Meltdown is my favourite game mode at the moment and the most upsetting part to me was that the overall length is being shortened. From 30 minutes to 20 minutes and the score cap is reduced from 500 to 300. I loved matches that ended because the time ran out, that typically meant that at least a couple of players on each team were really objective focused and did a good job at clearing waves. But I’m not on board with the entire philosophy of “there has to be a definite winner”, but that’s a different discussion.

Hopefully they’ll push it as an independent game mode before the launch of the update rather than a replacement.

My feels exactly. I’d love to give this mode a fair chance and I’m sure it has some fun moments. But I don’t want to think that, in a few weeks, Meltdown will be gone for good. That very much sucks the joy out of the new patch for me.

Be grateful that I’m still not playing him. Most Kleese players are idiots that need that health buff. I could dominate a game of Incursion with him back when he the lowest health in the game and Marquis still did massive damage.

Bring back normal Meltdown, and make the Ultra-Minions their own gamemode? Good idea. We can’t be alienating our fanbase again.
