I’m part of the GundamUC0079 mod team and we’re having a strange issue.
On our test machines things work fine. With most people that download the mod they seem to be able to play just fine, but a seemingly increasing number of people are having a crash on start issue throwing a “General Error” message.
After talking to one of them it seems his HwRM.log says it’s a problem with the soundconfig.lua file(like it’s not there)
I sent him a copy of my working GundamUC0079.big file and it worked for him when he loaded it up.
I’m at a loss here - it seems like the only thing between me and my working test copy and the players is Steam.
Is it possible that Steam is corrupting our .big file? Is there some limitation to what the soundconfig.lua file can do that I’m not aware of??
There’s evidence of corrupted downloads and patching through Steam, there’s been lots of people who have reported it for the STC mod. All we’ve been able to do is get them to try redownloading the mod

Cultural impact speaking it’s on the same level as Star Wars in Japan and other places that got it in the order that it came out(20 years of it was shoved on the US all at once and half of Gundam series don’t relate to or even take place in the same universe as the original story at all.)
Storywise - think “Star Trek where humans never developed warp/FTL drive but still expand through the solar system.” Without the intervention of a peaceful alien race like the Vulcans to pull our collective heads out of our asses like in Star Trek, the human expansion and colonization of our solar system mirrors the history of our violent planet in Gundam. Eventually the colonists that orbit over the dark side of the moon declare themselves the Principality of Zeon and launch a war of independence using giant robots that quickly turns into a land-grab invasion of Earth.
