Modding help - where to find what

Hi everyone!

I’ve started modding ACM only recently, and so far it has been an absolute pain. I’ve modded a lot of games in the last 20 years, but the PecanGame.upk is easily the most confusing mess I have ever come across. So I hope some more experienced modders for this game can give me some directions.

  1. Where do I change the amount by which the extended magazines for the Pulse Rifle increases the amount of rounds? “Objects->Content->DEFGEN_Unlocks->Marine->PulseRifle->Attachment->UnlockPulseRifleAttachmentExtendedMag->Behavior_ModifyWeaponValue” has already been suggested to me, but it doesn’t seem to work (which makes sense, considering this attachment doesn’t even specify which value to modfiy). Any ideas?

  2. Disabling Hudson’s decals on his Pulse Rifle. Has been done in countless mods before, but I couldn’t find where this has been changed. Already compared the mods side-by-side with the unchanged file, couldn’t find anything. Maybe I’m looking in the wrong place.

Yep! This game is a whole mess!!! It´s even a wonder that it is working. Version 1.0 was quite “ok”. But after all the updates, Jesus…it´s aweful!!! I still don´t know how TemplarGFX did all the work. ^^

It´s best you ask TemplarGFX for your mod. Or take a look into the pecangame.upk from the V3 mod.

Was thinking the same thing about how this game is even working. I started to think I’m getting the hang of it, changed a few things successfully and then… “Wait, around here should be the variable I need to change, it was there in all other cases. Where the hell is it for this object?”

Already asked TemplarGFX and he gave me a few directions, some of which were wrong. Not that I blame the guy, the file is such a mess that I wouldn’t blame anyone for forgetting what exactly he did in there to change something.
Asked him again, didn’t receive an answer and thought he might be too busy with his own mod (he still has plenty of stuff to do after all), so I decided to not bother him any longer and ask you guys here instead.

Already checked the pecangame.upk from his mod (and several other mods as well). Couldn’t find the difference I’m looking for so far.
