More Sort Options for the Heroes in Command Menu

Currently, the heroes section of the command menu is sorted alphabetically. There is an option to sort by reverse alphabetical, but that is all.

I was thinking that it would be possible to sort by faction, giving each faction their own row as there are 5 heroes per faction, but I did not consider the 5 new heroes coming post-launch. Sorting by faction can still be achieved by giving each faction their own column. The faction names could be read alphabetically and determine the order of the factions (Eldrid, Jennerit, LLC, Peacekeepers, Rogues).

Friends of mine had other ideas for sorting:

  • Progress / Reverse Progress: Heroes are sorted by accumulated character XP (ties are broken alphabetically).
  • Time Played (Favorites): Heroes that the player have spent the most time with are at the front.

If anyone else has sort criteria that is sensible and doable, please feel free to add to this topic.

Sorting by difficulty and characteristics would be great additions.

I feel that stuff like role and difficulty would be much more valuable to see in a quick sort than faction (which is already shown by background) although in a perfect world you could get all of those and not have to choose, but if I did I would want that first.

It messed with me in an OCD kind of way, but yes I was annoyed by the seemingly random placement in the menu. lol I just wanted a pure Jennerit row so badly but maybe it was on purpose to get you to look at the options and remember you wanted to try something with a character you don’t normally use, etc.

I agree with a “Sort by Role” function. It would make it easier in PvP character select to be able to quickly be able to sift through Support or Skirmish characters quickly rather than having to remember who specializes in which role. I say this because I don’t have all characters roles memorized, and I would like to be have a way to group Roles together. To bring up our greatest competitor, Overwatch has all of its’ characters sorted by role and it makes it easier for players to choose.
