K6 was simply using IC as a way to constantly proc status effrects with a salamander…
Didn’t give a hoot whether IC killed anything…
But with a Flair, a Pearl or an Elemental projector and a couple of the new skills, his gun damage was off the charts.
Trick was to simply keep cub out and keep him applying a status effect.

I am disappointed we don’t have an attack command like Fl4k’s pet.
I want to command Iron Cub to attack enemies just like Fl4k.
Also, the capstone is kinda weak compared to Amara. (Amara new capstone is powerful)

Capstone vs capstone comparison – I agree with you, but at the end of the day if both trees are built on a certain way, they can melt enemies really quick.
If you ask me I’d prefer a more emphatic capstone for Moze like call a giant Wotan mech for 10 seconds.

Two things I am curious of:
-
IC can take advantage of grenades with when damage, throw a free gren 20% of the time?
-
Can we do an IC skill activate and spam that IC nuclear augment? The description says it does MASSIVE RADIATION DAMAGE

The 20% grenade anoint works with IC. I would rather use the grenade damage ASA with it though.

Yeah ASA is better but the 20% might be an interesting fun build.
With the new skill tree having several effects that trigger off of causing DOT damage, i wonder if hammerdown protocol will be better. Hit a whole field with rad damage for a lot of skill triggers.

I’m contemplating converting my nuclear winter shotgun build into a cub build for that exact reason - Hammerdown Protocol x2 without having to re-proc Auto Bear every 15 seconds would make it so easy to proc status effects without breaking the flow of the game. And Efficiency Engine in time would make up for not having any gun damage investment in the SoR tree.
However, Joltz in his video on Moze’s new tree did state that Running on Fumes only seems to halt passive fuel consumption. He provided video evidence that Cub was still consuming fuel with his weapons despite the capstone being active. I don’t know if that’s intentional but if it is, it takes the shine off of the capstone a lot.
In the same video evidence, Cub was burning a LOT of fuel quite quickly with dual incendiary railguns just to slowly tickle skag pups to death. I know people have already mentioned Cub’s DPS is nothing to speak of but outside of proccing both NGtGYU and the capstone, its alleged improved fuel-efficiency wasn’t showing either which is rather concerning.
One thing I am thinking about is the nova on crit anointed Facepuncher with an Elemental Stone Commander Planetoid or an Unleash the Dragon.
Maybe some elemental guns with higher than average DoT values could show up?

I can’t play it myself but I made a new build using cub, the point was to try to keep the best of the old, and get the most out of the cub following you around while trying to balance what’s lost.
Can someone try it out when the time comes and post about how it does?

Do y’all think this will be true for cub too?

It will depend on how his AI is. If he has the same reload issues, then I can see things like rocket pods being problematic. With his ability to move, though, flamethrowers/corrosive thrower could be a much more viable option.
I’m looking at a build that doesn’t rely on explosive as much, so I might try these or cryo rounds. Possibly the rail guns.

Oooooh
A mini melee bear
Didn’t think of that yet <3
Probably with the random elemental fists
Sounds good especially if cub could chase enemies down. I don’t know that it would work well if cub just sticks close to you though. We’ll have to wait and see how the cub AI handles combat, though I suspect melee bear will be stuck as a meme set forever.

I hope the AI is better than Borderlands 2 Gaige’s Deathtrap.
If anyone ever played Gaige in BL2, you know what I mean. Deathtrap sometimes just stuck.
I am disappointed we don’t have an attack command like Fl4k’s pet. I want to command Iron Cub to attack enemies.

oh yeah, and that clunky follow animation lol.
@zwangzug Currently I’m using Fire Hose Mode build. What is the build closest to it, your hybrid, focused or all the way. I want to create an iron cub build with fire hose implements. Would I mostly be using blue and purple trees?

I’ve actually been searching the forum to see if this had been brought up yet. I noticed the interaction because I had two Flippers equipped, one fire/cryo one corrosive/fire, with two other fire guns equipped. The HUD only showed three stacks for the first flipper, and two stacks for the other (shield at the time had corrosive resistance).
I decided to test it on the dummy, just taking Havoc and the health regen talent before it, equipping the same four guns, no active benifits from mods, shields or anoints, guardian rank disabled. The stack count seems to refresh when swapping guns, and only counts the primary element of Maliwan guns. Swapping the element, then swapping to another gun and swapping back still gets stacks based on the primary element. Shooting the dummy the damage multiplier was consistent, 30% extra damage on the first flipper in fire or cryo mode, 10% on the second flipper in corrosive or fire mode.
I’m liking it a lot to get the Drowning in Brass benefit while being able to go deep on green and purple trees without losing Short Fuse. Been messing with a Rocketeer build that can reach Specialist Bear and Feature Creep to see how that helps survivability. It has a few issues though, you lose the buff when entering FFYL or Iron Bear and need to swap weapons again and I’m not sure what grenade to run for nice consistent Vampyr procs that can also have the fire element.

Spring Epicenter is the grenade you’re looking for.

Especially with a 150 ASA or 25 OGT anointment.
