I am a big fan of the post-apocalyptic theme and I know you drew inspiration from Mad max (the old ones) for BL1 so let me start from there.
Rather than experiencing another Pandora’s story I would rather be in the center of events, be a catalyst for a new ‘‘Pandora’’ in the making, live in a world dominated by corporations, slowly decaying as one by one are leaving a sacked planet for others, still rich in resources. Be part of a ‘‘cleaning’’ crew, removing evidence of my boss’s shady work in a particular place where as I kill a innocent I hear of the Vault and there my story starts, for example.
Simplified my wishes.
Clear scaling of rarity-utility-power of weapons, Shame to have use my purple gun instead of my legendary of the same level same type.
Improved crafting.
No easy mode, do not make me play the story twice till lvl50. I prefer a rather harder longer story.
When finishing the game in normal be given the option to customize in great depth a gun to be your own legendary, but only one per character.
Be more thougthfull of the character’s skills please. In BL2 some were rather silly, while others were the obvious choices. Give me something to trade in each skill allocation.
Instead of class mods, through choices in side quests and parallel storylines my character develops different trait and skill pool. I do not ask an open world, I know that is not your strengths but rather some optional storylines (chain side quests) to deepen the experience.
Give the option to be a Hyperion assasin, or part of DAHL taskforce, the face of Tediore’s new product line or simple a Bandit Warlord.
I would love to see my character, a DAHL commando coop with a Bandit King to face a swarm of
pissed off Cannibals.
Add some more dynamic elements in the world were killing a boss would bring ease the locals and grant me access to his fortress as my base now rather him respawning a dozen meters of the town’s limits.
Money after some point is useless. No gun at Marcus’ is worth buying. Instead give us other forms of currency, Baddass Tokens that can buy access to underground tournaments.
Relics of civilizations of old to trade with aristocrats for special favors. Super rare elements to give
to corporations for their latest gadgets. Or simply teeth, teeth from our fallen enemies to prove our might to others and get what we want from the bandit market.
Baddass Ranks from BL2 should pretty much be there, if it ain’t broke don’t fix it.
And Tiny Tina, I love that character, as an NPC, please have her.
Maybe some space maps? I want to try my marksmanship in zero G, you have the code from
The-Pre-Sequel, might as well put it in a good use!
Better scaling enemies. Were loot will be directly related to the enemy. When I kill a Baddass wielding duel rocket launchers I expect rocket launchers in my loot, not sniper rifles. When I kill a
wild animal instead for a handfull of dollars give trophies (their carcass) with which I can decorate my base or trade with other Hunters for specialized weaponry or access to new hunting areas.
Take a note from Dark Souls and provide us with lore hunting (some echonets disperced in a map was a good start, go further). Give us motive to explore.
