I think you might find “nite” works. “Koenig” might not. If my theory about the particular three letter combination it’s balking at is correct.

Yeah, that is exactly the reason why my username is considered abusive.
Nite works, yes. But personally not prefered.
Literally can’t play game - after introducing Shift system i suppose
so after a dialogue where i decide if i want to use cross-platform or don’t, i can’t play the game either way - my nickname is suggested offensive
so what am i supposed to do? why is it considered offensive now, never before by any other games and platforms?

Moved you into the main thread. If you scroll up you can see the reason for your issue - the shift name profanity filter, which uses a regex approach to catch multiple versions of the same insult. In your case, I can see exactly why it’s catching it - custard and mustard, along with tardisowner would also get trapped.
You can try changing the name on the shift website to see if it will take there. Otherwise, the only thing to do is (1) file a support ticket using SHIFT as the game/issue and (2) temporarily use a name that doesn’t include ‘tard’.

Hi, i’m a french player and my username was “LePtitDag” but shift change it and i can’t put back my username because it’s “insulting”.
But it’s my username in many game since a long time and i don’t see why this is insulting because it’s a french username and, in france, he is not insulting (my username breaks down this way : le=the, ptit=little, dag=beginning of my last name). If you can explain to me why it’s insulting, I would appreciate it.
Maybe because of the “tit”. Look up “tits”.

Merged into the main thread for this. Best advice I can give right now is (1) file a support ticket so the team know about it and (2) use a slightly different version for now.

That’s probably it. Back in my PS@Home days I had friends who’s ID was titi####### (I don’t remember the numbers nor wish to share them.)
Titi being the french name of Tweety Bird. On north american server his name was censored by the profanity filter.

Update: Finally was able to change my name to VinBlake! They might have fixed their filter system.

So is there any update posted somewhere about the status of this issue? I can’t seem to use my innocuos display name, I have sent a ticket off for now but I have little faith they will repond in a timely manner due to the circumstances.
It took me a few moments, but I think I can guess why your display name might have been blocked. The filter seems to be quite conservative, and not particularly intelligent. Unfortunately there is no public information available on the status of the filter, so all anyone can do is wait for a response.
Just decided to load of BL3 after a few months. Hit with this Crossplay username business.

Yeah, I just uninstalled again. I’m not saying that as a “got ‘em” moment. It was just kind of deflating to decide to reinstall it and give it another shot. Then hit with some silly thing.
Kind of killed my momentum.
Oh well.
Oh I’ve had trouble with some forum censors when telling people the closest town to where I live. Within the name hides a 4 letter word that is a nasty slang term for female genitalia.
