Since Torgue got no weapons in the Claptastic Voyage, I decided to add some here.


Looper
I don’t know what I expected.
Torgue shotgun. Torgue Barrel.
Always spawns with O0L8M0A0


Soul Stabber
The voices said empty, hollow, and thud.
Torgue assault rifle. Jakobs barrel.
Always spawns with a blade.
Melee hits penetrate shields.
+25% multiplicative critical hit damage.


Brofist
All I wish is to dream again.
Torgue pistol. Torgue barrel.
Greatly reduced damage.
+800% splash damage.


Hyperbole
Beware, there is a scoundrel present.
Torgue pistol.
Deals increased damage, based on enemy status (badasses/bosses).


Gamechanger
Flakkin’ hell.
Torgue shotgun. Torgue barrel.
Chance to inflict DOT (flak). Enemies suffering from the flak DOT can spread it to other nearby enemies.


Powerhouse
Make way.
Torgue assault rifle. Dahl barrel.
Increased projectile velocity.
Massive splash radius.


High Five
My sweet summer child.
Torgue rocket launcher.
Consumes three rockets per shot.
Damage multiplier on item card.
Produces a flakker shot, with higher damage, and range similar to the Norfleet.

Torgue MIRV grenade mod.
Homing child grenades.


OPness
You think that’s air you’re breathing?
Torgue Oz Kit.

  • Grenade damage.
    Grants action skill cooldown, even when it is active.


Knockia
You shall not pass.
Torgue nova shield.
Highest nova damage in game.
Massive knock-back resistance.


Free Hugs
Who hurt you?
Torgue spike shield.
Highest spike damage in game.
Inflicts knock-back to enemies that hit you.

Melee weapons are not that bad as concept, but they should not have percentage based bonusses, cause that makes aquiring new gear every x levels senseless. Its a loot game nonetheless. Let them have fixed bonusses, depending on the level of the weapon. The melee weapons also shouldn’t take one of the four weapon slots. Give them some extra slot, like for Oz kits, shields and so on.
And most important: let them have the ability of converting your melee damage into elemental damage. Think about an elemental Bloodrush!

The melee bonus was meant as the max level one. Like class mods have their percentage based bonuses.

I don’t think a melee weapon slot is necessary. They could occupy a weapon slot, otherwise you would never have them equipped. I imagined them in your hands. Plus, having them in a seperate slot messes up the controls. If you equip them in a weapon slot, you have the weapon in your hands and are able to do different attacks (melee, fire, and aim buttons), like Krieg’s axe in BL2. If they occupy their own slot, like oz kits, you are limited to one attack (melee button).

I added elemental damage to some melee-oriented guns, I didn’t want to have melee weapons come in elements. Intriguing though. They could, couldn’t they? Lemme think about it.

the problem with melee weapons is the buff is too high. you should need more than a axe that gives 1000% melee damage to become a melee charachter.

also, i want the looper on my claptrap.

I could nerf everything. The melee section was for the most part copy/pasted from the old forums of BL2.
We had the Rapier with +200% melee damage, so I thought the melee-only weapons should outperform the Rapier.
If you had a gun with 200% melee that you could also shoot,what would be the point of a melee-only weapon with 80-150% that could not shoot?
Which is the reason everything has a special effect.

I’ll go and attempt to balance them, since we don’t have anything with more than 50% melee now.
Still, we can have +50% melee on a gun, which means that any melee-only weapon will have to outperform that.
And the thing is that the +50% melee on guns is there from level 1 to level 70. The melee weapons will have to somehow be able to outperform a gun’s melee at all levels.

the biggest melee buff i can accept as balanced is 300%, and thats pushing it. plus, in tps since theres no guns that give more than 50% i find 200% is a bit much.

you should need more than a cool axe to become a melee charachter.

although scaling with levels would be a decent way to fix bladed guns.

Melee-only weapons could have fixed amounts of damage, that scales with their level, just like damage for guns does, instead of percentages.
But then there’s the issue of representing that value here.
What damage would I say a melee weapon has? For guns I say high/increased/massive, and you have a rough idea of how powerful it is (or I mention nothing if the weapon is not centered around damage but its special effect). But how could I do this with melee-only weapons? I can say 200% and you know roughly what it is capable of, but there are no melee-only weapons in any BL game. I have no point of reference to be able to say “high damage” for a melee-only weapon. I could compare melee damage to the damage that certain guns have. Like pistols, with low damage, or sniper rifles with high damage.

That sounds better in my head. And it would be easier to imagine the scaling of it. A melee-only weapons damage is just like a gun’s damage. Set amount, and it increases with the item’s level.

Increased magazine, fire rate, and reload speed.
Shoots lasers.
Can only come in shock element.
Shots penetrate targets.
If the laser beam pierces a target and hits another, the two targets are linked with a shock tether, dealing electrocute damage.
The second target receives +25% damage from all sources, until the shock DOT wears off.


Thief
Nope.
Dahl SMG. Dahl barrel.
Highest full-auto fire rate in-game (20.2)
Enemies killed by this have a very high chance of dropping grenades.


Mindblower
Wanna see what’s in my picnic basket?
Maliwan pistol. Torgue barrel.
+60% elemental effect chance.
+180% continuous damage bonus.


Uranus
Prepare.
Tediore laser. Hyperion barrel.
Thrown weapon creates singularity, before the tesla effect.


Python
Always look on the bright side of life.
Jakobs pistol. Vladof barrel.
Consumes 2 ammo per shot.
Fires two projectiles.
No speed penalty in FFYL.


Hubris
You will pay for this.
Jakobs assault rifle. Vladof minigun barrel.
Consumes 2 ammo per shot.
Fires three projectiles.
Full auto.
Decreased damage.


Kraken
It burns when I pee.
Scav shotgun.
+35% damage reduction.
+45% elemental resistance.
While in your hands, it set you on fire.
Inflicts fire damage, along with the element it spawns with.


Propaganda
What’s a mob to a king?
Vladof rocket launcher.
Shoots sticky rockets. Upon hitting a surface or enemy, the rockets explode, remain stuck, and release a nova shortly after.

Moving Platinum rarity here because the original post surpassed the limit of characters (75000). Imagine that.

Introducing a new rarity: Platinum

  • Platinum gear is one step above pearlescent weapons.
  • They can only spawn at the highest level of your current playthrough (30, 50, 60).
  • If dropped from enemies that you killed, they drop in a mini lootsplosion, along with money, moonstones, health, ammo, etc.
  • If found in a weapon chest, there are no other weapons inside.
  • When picked up, your character reads out the item’s red text.

Anshin

Angel
My perfect little angel.

  • Sniper rifle. Stats comparable to Hyperion.
  • +150% critical damage. 100% accuracy.
  • Shooting an ally in FFYL restores a portion of their revive bar.
  • Has a chance to instantly revive allies.


Freya’s Kiss
Stand tall.

  • Anshin pistol.
  • Stats equivalent to Dahl pistol.
  • Increases team max health.
  • Can spawn with all manufacturer barrels.
  • Each barrel grants a different effect:
  • Scav: + Mag size | Tediore: + Reload speed | Jakobs: + Multiplicative crit
  • Maliwan: + Elem. effect damage/chance | Torgue: Explosive splash
  • Vladof: Double fire rate | Dahl: Burst fire with low recoil | Hyperion: Reverse recoil.


Manchineel
Come closer.

  • Anshin SMG. Stats equivalent to Hyperion.
  • Grants slow health regeneration.
  • Enemies attacking you have a chance to suffer from the status effect of its element.


Bliss
Hush now.

  • Anshin grenade mod.
  • Delivery: Either lobbed sticky or longbow sticky.
  • Thrown grenade sticks to surface and creates a safety zone.
  • Allies in the zone receive +25% fire rate, +25% reload speed and regenerate health.
  • Safety zones last for 10 seconds.

Pangolin

The Game
You can’t kill me, I’m in the sequel.

  • Pangolin shotgun.
  • Stats comparable to Scav (lower damage, higher accuracy)
  • Stackable shield restoration upon kill. Each kill adds 1%.
  • Stacks lost if the weapon is unequipped or if you die.


Mole
Yummy. More.

  • Pangolin pistol.
  • Stats comparable to Maliwan (no splash, consumes 1 ammo).
  • Doubles the amount of non-gear items you pick up (ammo, health vials etc).


Bobbit
The horror.

  • Pangolin laser. Maliwan barrel.
  • Stats comparable to Dahl (higher damage/no burst).
  • Beam locks on the enemy under your crosshairs.
  • Once locked, the enemy is slowly pulled towards you.


FTW
I choose you.

  • Pangolin grenade mod.
  • Throwing a grenade mod digistructs a jumbuck. Up to two jumbucks at a time.
  • Jumbucks have their own life bar, and will disappear if you unequip the grenade mod.

Maliwan


Hellbender
It took years of discipline and practice.

  • Assault rifle.
  • Spawns as cryo only.
  • Shooting at shields deals additional shock damage.
  • Shooting at flesh deals additional incendiary damage.
  • Shooting at armor deals additional corrosive damage.
  • If an enemy is frozen, you deal additional explosive splash damage.
  • +2.5% life steal.
  • Consumes four ammo per shot.


Vermin
Eat up.

  • Shotgun.
  • +250% continuous damage bonus.
  • +250% continuous status effect bonus.
  • Elemental effect chance: 70%.
  • Increases status effect duration on you.

Tediore


Javelin

  • Swapping to this from another weapon increases its accuracy by 10%. This stacks up to 300%.
  • Swapping to another weapon from this decreases accuracy by 10%. This stacks up to 300%.


Tubegun
For all your wacky waving beam-flailing needs.

  • Laser. Maliwan barrel.
  • Low accuracy. High damage.
  • Monstrous magazine size.
  • 1 ammo per shot.
  • +217% continuous damage bonus.
  • Generates three beams that flail erratically.

Hyperion

  • Assault rifle.
  • Extreme accuracy, reverse recoil, and accuracy retention.
  • Very low bullet damage.

Godmode
What could possibly go wrong?

  • Rocket launcher.
  • High projectile velocity.
  • Massive splash damage and radius.
  • Fires three rockets for 1 ammo, in a tight spread.
  • Proximity rockets: they explode when near an enemy.
  • Each shot consumes 12% shield and 15% health.

Jakobs


The Bold One
Alors, c’est la guerre.

  • Rocket launcher.
  • Explosive only.
  • Torgue barrel: Fires a huge cannonball that is affected by gravity.
  • Scav barrel: Fires 15 small cannonballs in a tight cluster.
  • Projectiles that connect but do not kill, knock back enemies and traveling until they meet a solid surface and explode upon impact.
  • +20% explosive damage on you.


Sentry
It’s a keeper.

  • Laser. Hyperion barrel.
  • Can spawn with any element.
  • +500% projectile range.
  • +500% critical damage.
  • 100% accuracy. No recoil.
  • While in your hands, you cannot move.


Magpie
I’m innocent until proven otherwise.

  • SMG.
  • Full auto.
  • Critical hits cause enemies to drop ammo.
  • +8% multiplicative critical to all equipped weapons.
  • Low reload speed and magazine size.

Misery
One is the loneliest number.

Jakobs Oz Kit.
+50% multiplicative team critical hit damage.


Agony
There’s nowhere to run.

Jakobs grenade mod.
Cartoon bomb. Explosive only. Lobbed only.
Massive radius. Cataclysm effect.
If fuse time is too low, you will be hit.


Lampoon
Jokes on you.

Jakobs shield.
Increased capacity. +20% damage reduction.
Chance to restore 50% shield capacity when you receive a melee hit.

  • Can come in all elements.
  • +100% explosive splash damage.
  • Fires 11 projectiles that resemble the finger.
  • Each shot costs money. Critical hits cost double.

Vladof


Master Blaster
Mother of blasters.

  • Laser. Dahl barrel.
  • Highest base fire rate in the game.
  • Fires e-tech projectiles.
  • Consumes reduced ammo.
  • Projectiles ricochet.


Cheapshot
It’s something.

  • SMG.
  • Very high fire rate.
  • Consumes two ammo per shot.
  • Bullets that connect with enemies add two bullets in the magazine.

  • Rocket launcher.
  • Fires one rocket that flies in a straight line.
  • A fired rocket produces another one after having traveled a few feet.
  • The extra rockets follow the main rocket in a tight spread.
  • Up to 5 extra rockets from one main one.
  • Shots consume 1 rocket from every member of the team

Well, I do have some items that were not conceived by me, like the Bessie SR, the Double Anarchy, and most melee items. Some items are reworked old ones, like the Reaper pistol, and the Crux shotgun etc. But yeah. I do like coming up with effects, red texts, and names.

I saw that lol @impala I have 2 gun suggestions a laser that shoots like piccolo’s special beam cannon and a grenade called Hellzone that has child grenades surround up to 4 enemies and then has the individual child grenades converge on them like piccolo’s Hellzone grenade sorry too lazy for red texts and descriptions

(Why a pistol? We all know your not packing a longbow sniper or a rifle).
