[NEED HELP] 3DS Max DAE to HOD Error

I followed this [TUTORIAL] 3DSMax - Getting a simple ship in game Tutorial but when i export it to .dae this happens.

While reading or writing a file the following notifications have been raised.

I tried to convert this to .hod but HODOR.exe crashed.

HODOR crashing could be anything - this log is just Max telling you that DAE isn’t ‘Max’ format - so some data is lost. In general, these warning (not errors!) aren’t important nor do they mean anything.

Is there a specific log statement before HODOR goes down? Does it say it is doing something? I’m swamped with patch work, so hopefully one of the many Mod authors here can lend you a hand, though you will probably need to share this model’s DAE/Textures.

It stops at converting from dae to hod

Usually that step has a number of sub-steps that it prints… ? I’ll see if anyone else can chime in, if not, I may be able to look tomorrow.

If you’re new to 3DS MAx rigging, later the conversion will stop. It’s not an error in “99%” of the cases.
I’m having this problem myself trying to put a ship in place of the KAD_Swarmer and renaming the textures.
As always happens in HW modding, it requires thoroughness or tenacity.

Here is my script and it crashes when it says:

DAE -> HOD: Creating Homeworld2 Multi Mesh File - Version 512

I replaced the Kad_Swarmer with a sphere without textures, renamed it and reseted the x-form. Exported to dae and converted it.

Check the @Dom2 tutorial, I think it’s ForceMAP and not Force8888.

Ok everybody, problem solved i did’nt enable x-factor for real

Ah yes, you have the X-factor button and then you have the reset button.

I suggest to edit the thread’s title to add [SOLVED] somewhere.

Also can someone come on teamspeak, It loads the model into the game but without textures.

No, either is fine. 8888 is quick but yields a very large hod (good for testing). Map is slower but compresses the texture files (good for producing a hod for distribution).
