I just bought a 4K monitor as my primary. Ran GeForce Experience and optimized Borderlands 3, which set resolution at 2560x1440. But when I ran the game, it launched at 1920x1200 on my secondary monitor. Tried again – the opening runs fine on the new monitor, but after Claptrap’s dance, video disappears. The game is running – sounds are audible and its icon is on the taskbar, but no video on either monitor. Clicking on the icon makes the screen go black for a moment and then shows desktop. So now can’t run at all.
EDIT - never mind; back in business. I had set general Windows scaling for the 4K monitor to 175%. Setting it back to 100% allowed the game to run properly on the 4K monitor and for me to set resolution to 2560x1440. Though it’s gonna be a pain to manually change that every time I want to play a game.

Is that 4K, or are you using this resolution at GFE’s recommendation? Like have you put BL3 at full 4K just to see how it does? (Not sure what your system specs are, but if you’re throwing a monitor like that at it, I imagine it’s beefy).

Good question. Full 4K is 3840x2160, more than the 2560x1440 that GFE recommended for me. It also reduced some of the game’s other video settings to compensate for the higher resolution. My video card (GTX 1060 6GB). isn’t really capable of full 4K gaming. It worked fine at these settings, but all I really noticed was the slightly higher resolution.

I mean… having played video games since the 70s, I will never not be impressed by how fantastic even “awful” games look today; 2560x1440 is a fantastic resolution, and you should be getting great framerates there (for certain values of great… I’m quite spoiled now such that any dips below 60 FPS are unforgivable).
Glad your game is working again.

Same here. (Well, console games in the 70s; Commodore 128/Amiga games in the 80s.) E.g., the Zork series – don’t have to worry about frame rates in text adventures!

It is pitch black. You are likely to be eaten by a grue.
