I do too, just wish we had a combat log.
If only
In the testing I have done The Pacifier procs on pretty much anything that does damage - Iāve been playing with it on Kleese and it procs off the damage pulses from his rifts, so I canāt imagine it wouldnāt proc off Ambraās sunspots, since they are pretty similar.
Incidentally, it also procs off damage dealt by Deandeās holotwin. My hope was that the āweaknessā from The Pacifier would trigger Culling the Weakās damage increase, but sadly it does not
Iāve never done extensive testing, but Iām reeeeeasonably sure it works.
I tried using the Leechsteal before her buff, and the returns were pretty pitiful. I assume its probably better now? I might give that and Void a go in a bit, see which one is more effective.
In any case though, sheās pretty survivable already. My go-to if Iām not picking Radiant Halberd is the life steal, which is pretty awesome at keeping me alive going toe-to-toe with other melee.
I experimented last night and Iām still taking Stellar Ritual. For me, being able to steadily heal three Battleborn off a single sustained Sunspot beats sacrificing health to keep up one BB who will force you to run out of your zone to do it. Plus, the drain beam is fixed now (so good!), and I want the guarantee that itās only going to lock on to enemies.
Also, Iām still going Halberd, and I freaking resent that lukewarm little heal beam once I hit level 7 and want to start claiming territory with my agile sunspots and rain of fire. Seeing my sunspots dwindle because I have this pseudo-Miko health-tickle ray is simply ghastly, dear
The health loss on the beam is completely negligible, but I still prefer being able to heal the sunspots and keep area heals/damage going longer versus healing one at a time.
Oh, I agree the health sacrifice isnāt even noticeable. That was just one of my usual descriptive flourishes
Yeah, Iād say that is one of her few helixes that still isnāt viable. The increased life steal one is actually a decent choice if you wanna go less heals more staff to face.
That, the two āconsumable sunspot onesā, and Flame Burst (this one should be completely wiped and replaced) are pretty much useless. the other ones all fit into some build or another.
Well, actually Iām iffy on the +1 sunspot. Especially now with the increased healing rate, thereās just no situation in which I can keep or need three sunspots up.
I think i might be interesting if she had a helix that increased healing and decreased attack of the sunspots, vice versa on other side, and mutation would be a small bump to both (or something else completely). Maybe instead of her level 5. Idk, just being able to tweak the sunspots depending on need would be cool.
The consume-sunspot-to-heal helix was dire before, and now itās horrific. One of the worst helixes in the game for anyone - drastically compromises everything about Ambraās support game. The consume-to-damage one is just as awful in PVP and only escapes the same condemnation because itās merely ābadā in PVE.
Flame Burst is hilariously terrible. Itās not as bad as the above two because it doesnāt sabotage Ambra so absolutely, but itās still going to guarantee youāre markedly weakened if you take it.
The +1 Sunspot is dubious but no worse than the questionable, āincluded for the sake of some exotic buildā helixes in the game.
There are other levels I wonder about. Iām not sure how anyone could justify passing over Sunspotter, especially as itās an indirect buff to Solar Wind anyway. Right choice on 10 - ugh. I think Ritual of Repulsion does more damage in a lot of circumstances than taking right 4, and itās better at disruption and wave clear than left 4. I absolutely loathe right 7, but anyone who doesnāt mind wind-up attacks could make a case for it.
And Iād love to play with the slow on sunspots but can never justify the sacrifice.
Well see, the justification for skipping Sunspotter would be in the very next helix - if youāre gong to be popping your sunspots Pac-Man style, it would probably be better to buff Solar Wind than 'spots that arenāt gonna stick around. Course, since those helixes suck, it retroactively removes the reason for that one.
It also might be more useful with Pendles around, but i still think it could use a bit of a buff.
Right 10 isā¦probably better for PVE, actually? When being swarmed, some lingering AOE might be nice. In fact, I could see taking it for PVP even for waveclearā¦maybe. probably not, comet usually kills any minions.
Left 4 is better at getting a single melee BB of of you than mid, though RoR is definitely more versatile. Right 4 does more damage mainly because mid knocks them back out of the range of the second hit pretty often.
Right 7ās okay. If you want to hit and run or are playing against skinny characters, its a lot easier to land the one hit than 6 or 7, and quicker, so thats down to playstyle.
I think Iād actually like it if the +1 Sunspot helix lowered the Sunspots rate of healing and damage to maybe 75%. Which would make it be less effective if you donāt have them all up, but they are easier to keep up because slower drain.
Yeah Ambra is back to being a tank the thing people where complaining about.
Meh. The smart players are taking the .5 seconds to kill my sunspots, knocking me down quite a few pegs in survivability.
Finally got to play as the new and improved Ambra and it is awesome! Sunspots noticeably heal from the start (100k healing is almost an every game occurrence haha) and the beam works again finally!
Not too strong and not too weak! Perfectly balanced haha unlike some other characters haha
Iām looking for heal power with healing recieved, vice versa, and damage reduction plus heal power. Then take three Sunspots with extra health and healing and just tank.
iām happy with the changes and eager to try out my new pacifier with it to see how it goes
CDR is still prettty meh at best because yo can only get like up to ~18% max with a build that focuses on getting it but not every BB is suitable for that build.
maybe firmware update would be a good addition though? after all it could drop a lot off of her Extinction event since sunspots can be dropped so often nowā¦itās all about experimentation!
I have tried the pacifier, and itās a noticeable effect, but not overwhelming. itās more useful for that small extra edge against an enemy than anything else(Itās part of my ambra build still though)
I tried out the new and improved ambra and I must say sheās quite good now. Played monuments incursion and my team took middle early, so I was placing sunspots just around the corner from the sentry and my team learned thatās where sunspots would be, so we just stayed near their sentry until eventually we had a power play and killed first sentry. Then I just pinged where I was placing new spots and they grouped there and we slow pushed them back again. Ended the game 100-0 with me having 9-0 with 32 assists and 100k healing given. It was pretty great
Havenāt been playing much pvp lately becaus of matchmaking, but had a great incursion game earlier. 2-0 with 20 assists and a whole lotta heals. Iāll take that every time.
