¡New and Improved! If we, or our forum alter egos, were playable characters, what would our Action Skills be? Now with 1000% more class mods

Infinity? Depends on the bonus i guess. If it’s like zero’s OSOK skill it wouldn’t be to broken

I figure it’d be a rank skill, like $shot, but with far lower percentages. Either 10% or 20% per rank for an additive bonus of 50%-100%. There would still be better guns than the Infinty, but Infinibee would probably be the most used and abused.

Aside: did I use inverse correctly, or would reverse have been the appropriate term?

I’d love the DWIM action skill - Do What I Mean. The mouse wheel would scroll to the actual weapon I want; I wouldn’t accidentally pick up a weapon from a container; I wouldn’t throw a grenade when I just want to open my backpack. Stuff like that.

A quality of life improvement. Nice

I think they both work: inverse if you’re looking at the weapon damage formula; reverse if you’re a Sal player figuring out how to use it.

I missed this thread completely. Anyway.

Psychichazard: action skill? Oooh, this is tricky, actually. Gonna give it some thought or something. Banhammer is way too obvious. I’ll accept flattering suggestions.

Tracer’s Action Skill would be called Time Freeze.

Where it causes her enemies to either slow down or explode in a spontaneous fashion.

She also has the ability to dual wield guns while running really fast.

If I may be so bold, kind sir, perhaps the Monocle of Moderation. Grants damage reduction and resistance to all elements (to simulate some sort of prescience) and increases the size of, and highlights, critical hit boxes. You could spec into skills that buff speed related stats like movement, reload, etc.

@Tracer Sort of like a cryo spraying Salvador hopped up on caffeine?

Sort of, yeah.

I have a suggestion for you: the Apologist Chef mod.

Comes with a 30 % damage bonus against edible enemies, a +6 chef’s knife melee bonus and +5 Apology: team cooldown reduction.
Red text could be something like “With some herbs and chili I can make a fantastic sausage out of those…”

Completely off topic, but not really, but kind of. I once had an idea for a sausage I’d want to eat but never saw so I decided to make it. I bought a grinder attachment for my mom’s standing mixer and some casing, then a duck, a pound of high end bacon, and a handful of jalapeños, and then I went to work. I deboned the the duck, ground it with all of the bacon and jalapeños, stuffed it into the casing and then smoked/grilled it. It was very well received by the gluttons that I associated with at the time. I should probably recreate that someday. I think that showcases nicely the +5 to Ingredient Selection and the +5 to Going the Extra Mile that the category of Chef mods can come with. At RNGsus’s whim, of course. :smirk:

Legendary Elementalist

+XX% Elemental damage

+XX% Elemental effect chance

+5 Get umm while they’re hot(Weapon swap and reload speed)

+5 Dead eye (Accuracy, ADS speed, and Movement speed while aiming)

+5 TinCanSlam (Extra corrosive damage)

+5 Melt the Flesh (Extra fire damage)

+5 Fork into Socket (Extra shock damage)

Variety never hurt you

Use the freeze time ability from the action skill, then wipe out even the most diverse bandit camp

Enderborn’s Action Skill would be the Ruiner Kill. Dash forward and do a vicious melee attack that does massive damage, and if the enemy is below 1/3 health it’s a guaranteed kill and cooldown refunded with some badass animation in the process, RUINER/DOOM-like. And it’d work on every enemy including raids.

Legendary Chronomancer

+XX% Gun Damage
+YY% Critical Hit Damage

+5 Reap What You Sow

  • % of damage dealt during action skill duration returned as health

+5 Undiminishing Returns

  • each enemy killed during action skill extends duration by n seconds

+5 Burn Baby Burn

  • all damage done has a % chance to set the target on fire

+5 Stacked to the Max

  • each critical hit generates a VATS stack, to a maximum of n stacks; VATS stacks increase critical hit damage during action skill, with each hit consuming m stacks

+5 Designated Driver

  • each designated target killed increases aim speed, movement speed, and reload speed by X%

Who’s a good dog!

Buffs apply to your pet as well during use of your action skill. Take 'em down; take 'em all down.

I can’t help but feel like the COM that Jefe currently has equipped was supplied by Captain Blade.

Do tell. Is it the curse of the undercaffeinated bossman? (Drastically shortened action skill duration in exchange for drastically shortened cooldown) Or the curse of the mutinous underling? (Employees gain bonus attack damage but also a chance to attack their manager) If I’ve crossed a line let me know and I’ll submit my resignation as soon as you proofread it.
(Also, if you need anything let me know. I got you brother.)

Captain Blade’s crew mutinied and threw him overboard. He’s currently adrift.

If I may be so bold…

Maybe The Curse of the Floating Compass. While equipped the mini map rotates and slides at random, but it shows chest locations as well.

New thought, ladies and gents. What would your class mod look like? Looking at this one I imagine a chef’s hat with the word “Apologist” embroidered on the band (which I may have made for myself. I really like this idea, @Curmudge0n, thank you.) I imagine that the legendary Wise Ass I proposed would be a propeller beanie where the propeller has middle fingers popped up on each end, or one middle finger and the :ok_hand: on the other. What would all of your coms look like?

Some ideas I had for your proposed coms.

@Piemanlee I think your com would be dollops of whipped cream or scoops of ice cream.

@Vaulthunter101 I’m thinking a pocket watch, but I think we can do better. Input silliness here please.

Just some ideas I’m tossing about in my head. Being one of my threads I’ll likely come back to this. Repeatedly.

Other thoughts: @Kurtdawg13 you haven’t chimed in here yet. What say you, good sir?

Large old-style pocket watch, yes. Like the Battleborn Cooldown gear.
