That’s because you’re within a category and @ThatOneGuy23 is on the home page “New” tab. To check quickly, use the g n keyboard short-cut to go to the new items page. I’m not sure if that “Dismiss New” is always at the top, but the other suggestions would be great if they could be included - when there are 100+ new threads/posts, and more are coming in thick and fast, it’s a real pain trying to locate the topics you might be interested in. (Also, it’s the only way to catch posts that have been made to a parent category rather than an actual sub-category)

You have to physically click “New” then you get the option to dismiss the entire list. Basically, its “sure, you can get rid of these 500 new topics. But just take a quick peek first, JUST IN CASE.”

Getting an odd new error from the forums when creating or editing posts. When I hit the “Reply” or “Save changes” buttons, a dark grey bar will appear across the bottom of the screen with the word “Saving…” and a close ‘X’.

This will often persist after the post has appeared at the foot of the thread, and will occasionally generate an alert with the message “Unknown error saving post, try again. Error: 502 Bad Gateway” Yet the new/edited posted is clearly in the thread!

Really not sure what is going on here. I had recently toggled the option to “Take me to my post” OFF, if that makes any difference?

Edit: Paging @Jeffybug - it just did it again. Looks like some odd race condition or something?

Still having problems. The composition window takes a long time to close, and sometimes times out completely, while it thinks it is “Saving” your post. It will often conclude the post hasn’t save even after I can see it right their on the thread!

Dismiss New only appears when you have more than (n) topics in the list, e.g. you would need to scroll down a lot to see it; then we duplicate it at the top.

While I understand that, but (n) seems to be set too low - especially for the 1280x800 screen on my laptop where I’ve had to zoom the forum pages anyway in to be able to read the text (especially in the edit window - grrr!) I would like to see the button added any time the list of new topics goes more than two screen-heights worth (i.e. one full window scroll vertically) - can you set it based on height rather than count?

Anyone else have a problem earlier today accessing the forums? Around 5 pm eastern I got a “503: No server is available to handle your request” error page. That’s the second time this month that has happened to me…

Yes I saw that message earlier as well as earlier in the month. I assume it’s random forum issues. The OG forum had its moments like that too.

Keep getting the same “502 gateway error” from the editor window after replying/posting that I’ve mentioned before. I’m starting to think that the system is under-resourced for the number of users? Paging @Jeffybug or @discourse - any comment?
