Thats why i was wondering if the drops make or break a run. Obviously a better gun rolls through enemies but bad ones must be just… bad lol. I seem to be wanting someone to tell me what i know is wrong and that there’s a magic touch to it. Bare with me, im just a newbie to it.

I’ve been playing it quite a bit recently and the circle is in different spots each time (PS4). No matter where you start and where the circles start you do have enough time for at least one outer chest provided you don’t get bogged down on the way there.

That’s what the videos show I’ve watched. Apparently their on pc and im on xbox so that might be the difference. I played some last night and every time both circles were centered in the middle of the map. Was able to complete ONE run of the outer chest since I got a good weapon from the start. I don’t see this lasting long for me which is disappointing.

Hey I love the arms race mode and have got all the trophies for it on ps4 so here is some info that helps me on my runs:
The circle location is rng based but I have had it before where it keeps spawning in the same location a few runs in a row. My advice is just to farm another gun if the circle isn’t over a chest you want or end the run immediately and start again until it appears where you need it to.

The far out chests seem to hold the better gear (plasma coil, tizzy, etc) so I tend to try and run straight through enemies to get to that area first then work my way back. The only time I will fight my way to the outer chests is if I have a good tediore as one shot killing enemies gives me more than enough time to loot.

Tediore is your best friend! Especially if you get one with the little square pattern thing on the barrel as this means they have a mirv reload. Getting a mirv or homing tediore in the starter chest equals automatic win! Likewise, getting a preecher or another good cov weapon will make the run a whole lot easier.

Don’t lose hope! If you don’t make it to the chest you wanted in time or if you did but didn’t get the gear you wanted, keep playing! I was farming a boogeyman once and failed to get one time after time, then checked a random vendor and found a 300/90 boogeyman, extracted it straight away.

If you find a non arms race legendary on one of your runs, use it, it will shred! I got a bangarang once and completed the whole run just using that.

@YIPIKIYA I play on Xbone and the Murdercane circle locations do change in my experience. It’s possible that if you are just farming gear, extracting it, and not killing the final boss (Harker?), the Murdercane circles do not change. I feel like it stays in the same place if you are just farming the chests and not the final boss, which sometimes I have done.

I couldn’t say for certain other than that I have noticed the Murdercan circles change their spawn points for me when I play on Xbone.

Awesome info! Thank you for the input but arm’s race specific gear does spawn in vendors!? Didn’t know that.

Good to know. I have killed the boss on runs but only a few times. I’ll keep an eye on the map from now on. That might be my issue just doing the chest. Thanks

regular legendaries, although rare, are great in arm’s race. even if it’s just a grenade, you can breeze through everything. I once got a hellshock and not counting the short immunity phase when going from armor to health, the final boss took about 6 seconds.

what I’d really like to see done in arm’s race is auto health regen and improved reload times. I only die b/c I’m trying to reload and run out of time.

arm’s race specific gear can spawn in vending machines within arm’s race–the only issue is having enough $$ to buy it.

Yeah they can but as tarheel mentioned, they are very expensive! Have you had any more luck on your runs? I haven’t played arms race in a couple of months, may do a few runs myself.
I don’t know if you’ve beaten the boss yet but he can also drop both vanilla game and arms race specific legendaries.
Once I got a ASA 200 woodblocker and a 300/90 plasma coil at the same time

I am getting the hang of it and really enjoying it. Mostly exploring the map to memorize paths. I’ve had some decent drops and beaten the boss. He’s surprisingly not too hard to get down once you know what weapons to use. Still haven’t seen any in vendors except vanilla but no big deal. Im going to try for tizzys next. Should be a quick farm.

No farm in Arms Race is a “quick farm” in my experience. It is really tough to get good Arms Race gear with the anoint you want if you are farming it legitimately (which all my gear is legitimate and in 99% of cases farmed by me). I have played a crapton of Arms Race and am still trying to get what I would consider to be “pretty good” versions of most of the weapons I like.

Dark Army farming is especially absurd. You need the ++ prefix for the weapon to be even usable on M10, pretty much.

The tizzy’s definitely better than the plasma coil run. I just run straight to the main door the badass’s come out of and clear the area and done. But each run is its own adventure.

Nice glad you’re keeping at it. I’ve still not got round to getting on it. Good luck with the tizzy. I have a conesutive hits one but have been trying to farm an ASA 200% one for months now and had no luck. Dark Army is a really good gun to get too

I’ve played 80 million times and still have never gotten a level 65 fl4k mod to drop (i just want it for my collection). 90% of the drops seem to be the holy grail, deathrattle or that useless sniper.

and I don’t get chests that spawn two or three of the Res when it isn’t anointed and the stats are the same.

for the boss i always look for shock, corrosive and incendiary grenades as those can take him out quickly. easier than getting lucky and finding a good legendary gun.

to me the biggest factor in success is your first chest. whenever I get a jakobs and/or torgue gun I know I’m screwed b/c generally non elemental (some torgue whites may be but usually not) and the reload times are just too slow–I usually end up dying while trying to reload. If I can get a good maliwan pistol and a tediore or atlas (other than the AX-88) it ends up being much simpler to succeed.

Just any element, I can make any work. I’ve thought about asking on here for a trade before but I think I might be the only BL3 player who plays on mayhem 6 instead of 10 or 11
