isn’t it supposed to be a Very Hard modifier?
Correct.
I think, if you are the type to go for clean runs on challenge maps (i.e. running Slaughter Shafts/MTD with no FFYL) then, this is a great mod. But that type of challenge appeals to a relatively small audience, and I would expect most people to pass it up. Luckily we can reroll modifiers as much as we want until we get a set that satisfies us, so having “niche” modifiers is quite welcome IMO.
Don’t die. Problem solved!
This is actually the only modifier i really like.
Edit: Forgot the one where enemy shoot faster and deal more damage when they are close to each other. I like that one too
Dicey, even better!
I think Mayhem 2.0 so far is pretty nice, but at the same time after a while you realize there are really only so many combinations of effects, and some effects that you absolutely don’t want to ever deal with. It would be more interesting I think if you could roll multiple effects of the same “difficulty”, as well as give us the option of storing one or two rolls.
I wouldn’t enable this modifier in Mayhem 10 but in 9, it might be OK, and in 8, it would definitely be fine.
The biggest missed opportunity in my opinion, is that there is no incentive to run with the more annoying or difficult effects if you can avoid it by rerolling. If it were up to me, I’d add additional incentive to try and challenge or struggle through the worse effects that make it more worthwhile as opposed to just rolling for the easiest stuff. Or I don’t know, balance it more so that every single effect has a positive and negative for the player and the enemies, instead of how most are purely negative.
All the effects are annoying and the lesser poison depends on build and playstyle. I think it is fair that you can avoid those that could completely destroy your current build. If I use a cryo Zane I ll certainly reroll cryo immunity , with Nimbus Amara dot immunity is a no go etc…
I wish this was a modifier for M10…
There is only one modifier that I absolutely hate, and it is the damned “link”, when you get close to an enemy they link to you and give massive elemental damage. It is a real pain to deal with this in close maps and without Zane barrier.
This TBH, the -75% crit is the worst by far. Punish you for hitting crits is dumb, why make ever more tanky the enemies in higher mayhem levels.
I enjoy the no FFYL and I play Fl4k.
The second worst IMO is the DEATH modifier, that thing is super tanky, and if you kill an enemy at melee range of you, you can instantly go to FFYL, yikes.
These modifiers all out of wack balance wise. Theres literally 0 reason to not run anything other than +25% crit -50% normal damage on very hard modifier since the other three are pure cancer and this one actually buff you.
How did this gone through is anyone’s guess.
Like all modifiers it depends on build and character. Some Zanes and Amaras are so tanky (or have Guardian Angel) they virtually never take a knee so they might just prefer not having to deal with other V.Hard modifiers.
This. Well, this and I enjoy the thought that if I do go down, I’m dead, and the other modifiers were just annoying, even the +25% crit damage/-50% normal damage one.
Decided to reset missions to finish all sidequests for 100% completion when Mayhem 2.0 releases, and here we are and I’m having a blast, things don’t die in a second and I actually die.
I play Amara, went M10 right away, stuck with this modifier after some rerolls, I don’t ever want to take it off, at least not yet. Even want this to be a setting you can choose when making a character, it would of course get disabled when Mayhem is unlocked though lul.
Anyway, I do die every now and then of course, with the worst culprit being Annointed Zealots, god I hate them. But hey, if I didn’t die every now and then, I wouldn’t really be having fun hehe. I can certainly see some bosses are going to be difficult but I can’t wait to try! That is, unless getting mayhem level weapons makes all the difference, ain’t got any yet lul.
Oh and, yes, so far the Annointed Zealots are the worst, haven’t seen the rarer ones yet like Annointed Goliath or whatever they’re called, man, they’re gonna be a pain.
The problem is that FFYL was already a band aid over poorly design content. Remove the band aid and you only have the poorly designed game
