If you read their twitter they have recently closed the Borderlands companion app (not that I even knew there was one, I’m sure I searched at one point though :confused: ) none of this looks good for us. @rickyh241 we can only hope but I doubt it

I might win the lottery today, too. Or maybe Jennifer Anniston will show up at my front door looking to have her way with me.

At this point, all have the same likelihood of happening.

Really? You guys ask for updates and etas. You get one and just shrug it off.

At this point, it seems like even if they did fix it, you would still complain.

I feel like I’ve overstepped my moderator bounds with that reply, but it is what it is. They are confident about a fix, it’s coming soon. Is that not appreciated at all?

We’ve been getting that same “update” for months though. I’ll appreciate a fix when I get it. There’s is no fix for paying 60 bucks for a game that was broken for 6 months though. Unless they want to give me 30 bucks back.

I can’t think of anything else to complain about if the issue was fixed. I loved the game on xbox 360, never complained once. My only complaint is this issue and how it has been dealt with. There have been multiple promises of updates before but nothing has come of it.
If this fix works, great! You’ll never hear from me again regarding a complaint as there would be nothing to complain about, its a great game I can’t wait to be able to play like I used to.

Except the game was still broken and has been for a very very long time and we did not get “any customer service from Gearbox” and let’s remember this is yet another promise of a fix coming soon. Even if they fix the game compensation is still due !!! for the time lost we occurred by not being able to play online.

I HOPE they prove me wrong. If that update appears in the next 7-14 days, I’ll apologize for my cynicism today. I promise.

Thought I’d add a little update
(This is the message I had a couple of days ago)

Regarding a potential solution, as of right now the issue is still ongoing and there is no workaround to it except going on our forum to find players to play with: http://forums.gearboxsoftware.com/c/borderlands-the-handsome-collection
Like I’ve said, I received an answer from the devs concerning the information I’ve escalated to them regarding your case and they mentioned that their team believes they’ve made some very positive progress because of players like you who sent in their information.
Again, this isn’t a full-fledged solution and we still don’t have a timeline of when the fix will be released, but we have reasons to believe it will finally get solved soon.
I apologize for the small amount of information I can provide, but be sure that I’m keeping an eye open for any news about this and you will be the first to known when I’ll hear something.
As always, we really appreciate your patience and understanding regarding the matter. Rest assured, we’ll not quit until this issue with the Xbox One matchmaking feature is solved.
If you have other questions or issues please feel free to ask.
I’ll leave your ticket OPEN so there is no need to worry about it getting closed automatically and I’ll update you as soon as I hear anything.

Had this last night…

I completely understand how you’re feeling. Here at 2K and our fellow devs at Gearbox Software are hard core gamers and we get how an issue like not being able to use the matchmaking feature option in a game can hinder the gaming experience. We are also the biggest fans of the Borderlands universe and we want our games to deliver the most badass experience possible.
As for the Consumer Act, it explicitly states a refund can only be done within 30 days of purchase.
The above doesn’t change how we’re approaching things and we want all features to be fully functional. We are committed to deliver what we promised and will not fail to do so. Like I said in my previous message, we are close to a fix and I would like you to hang in there just a little longer. We are in sight of the finish line and as always I’m being as transparent as I can because I want to keep you informed on our progress and hope to give you the good news as soon as possible.
We really appreciate the patience you’ve shown regarding this issue and we can’t apologize enough for the inconveniences it has caused. We truly want to put this behind us and expect a fix to be released shortly.

I have since messaged them stating I wasn’t claiming that the new consumer act applies to me, as I have said above here its consumers who have bought the game since October 1st it applies to.
I also had to make a point of stating I contacted them within 30days of purchase about the issues and was assured that is was a small problem affecting only a small amount of people and they will fix it soon, I mentioned if they had been truthful with me upfront and said how big of an issue it was and how long it would take to fix I would of taken the game back.

As for the fix mentioned above in the messages from 2K, I can only hope that it is true but we’ll have to wait and see…

I am really trying to stay hopeful. I have said in the past, I can’t imagine they would go through so much effort to carry on a ruse and lie to us. But the other part of my brain is screaming WTF??? WHY IS THIS SO DIFFICULT!!!

I can’t join anyone now. Getting “please check your network cables and configurations” what a train wreck this game is. Beyond frustrated. These people stole 60 dollars from us.

No problems connecting to the same friends playing other games too. Get it together gear box.

Good point. I started this thread 2 days after I got the game. I believed they were going to fix it in a timely manner. Made the mistake of TRUSTING them. If I had known it was going to be this difficult to fix, I would have returned the game to the store.

Now? I’m out $60 on a game that doesn’t work properly.

Gearbox Post #96 (No Multiplayer Games) which is linked to this issue has been going on since 4/3/2015 so we going on 7 months.

7 months of broken game we only have 30 days to return. Jokes on us.
