I only Taunt when someone taunts me first. It’s not that it angered or hurt me in any way, I just like to do karma on them. I then continue to taunt them on every kill. They normally get really angry. You constantly see them trying to kill me to taunt me again even if they die during the process or put themselves in vulnerable spots. When they fail to do so, I normally get an insult through personal message lol
Taunts can also be used as a good battle strategy. Some players tend to get so mad after getting taunted that they lose control and forget about team coordination. They change their primary focus to just killing that specific player that taunt them… making them very easy to kill and putting their whole team at a disadvantage.

One of my normal team mates is normally the one to lose control, extremely effective tactic to my detriment
Speaking of Karma, I was in a game playing with a friend and 3 randoms. One of our randoms was killed and taunted so my friend ran up and avenged him while he was being taunted. Then he taunted the person he killed only to be killed by Orendi. Then Orendi taunted him but didn’t realize I was standing right next to him and I killed her and taunted her. At this point too many people were dead and I got away with it but the moral is karma is a bitch.
Lol that happened to me once. Way back when I was with my premade team, my friends used to taunt back when one of us got taunted. I remember a match where one of my friend died and the enemy taunt, my other friend killed him and proceeded to taunt… The chain went on until 4 members from both sides were killed because of taunting back to back. One enemy and I were alive at the end. I ended up dying; That single enemy destroyed our first sentry with double thralls because I couldn’t focus from all the laughing I was having.
Other than Toby’s like lvl 15 taunt when he bleeps out cuss words at you sometimes, his taunts are pretty easing, lol in a way. You either take it to heart for getting taunted or feel rather lifted cause his taunts are just the cutest thing that you can’t take serious lol
this discussion has been brought up at length by myself and many others. The goal was to allow us the access to some kind of “gesture” that said thanks, or any number of other non taunt emotes. Nothing was ever mentioned by the devs when summoned.
