every single piece of gear with red text i’ve gotten from quests or drops have had horrible stats. Like how when I got the “we gotchu” text gun it had damage at like half of the other weapons for that level and it’s fire rate was awful. Or every shield has anywhere from 100 to 500 lower capacity and recharge delays at 6+ with tiny recharge rates.
In every other BL game I’ve got at worse gear with stats that are slightly worse than the rest of my kit but most of the time I got good stat gear. it’s a shame bc red text gear are usually the most fun things to equip but I can’t see myself using any of these not even a little bit.

Has anyone else experienced this constant drop of lackluster red text gear?

ive seen most if not all of them and i can say that while some do suck, most do not, which is in my opinion an upgrade, but you should stop looking at stats and start looking at effects as red text gear are meant to be modified versions of gun, so while the buttplug is a masher but its stat are lowered compared to a regular one, that regular one doesnt give extra damage from behind

though ill admit some are weak, they are often not weak but weird, needing you to find how to use them correctly to work, at which point they might become amazing

I was wondering this. In the past the red text’d unqiue gear usually had a hidden or extra bonus effect sort of like a legendary did it not? Now most of these red uniques feel underwhelming. So far I’ve sold all but 1 of them.

They aren’t great, but they aren’t bad either. I never really felt compelled to try many of them out, as I already had gear that did the job just as well and didn’t feel like racking up unnecessary deaths by experimenting.
The purple Jakobs rifle you get from one of the main story quests is quite powerful.

I know that but when the red text doesn’t compensate for the awful stats Im not gonna use it. If it does 20 less damage a second AND has a much longer reload the fact I can shoot all my bullets at once (shotgun forgot the name) it doesnt matter esp when my current weapon has more elemental damage/chance that the new one too.

a lot of guns dont have good stats, but have insane effects. have you perhaps heard of the P.I.P.E bomb?

I dont think i saw that in game or maybe I dropped it by accident. So no not yet

none of what I’ve used seemed that good. like the clouds gun has bad damage compared to my other guns but the cloud damage doesnt seem to be much of a factor for increasing my overall damage to be more useful than my current weapons

This is kind of how it was in Bl2 as well. You had your absolutely broken blue uniques that everyone knows about, but you may have forgotten about the roaster. Or shotgun 1340, commerce, etc.
Some are hits, some are situational, some are garbage. As it should be.

Yea i was gona say some of that blue red txt gear is amazing such as the pipe bomb…most of the red txt gear i have found does have some sorta unique effect that if not useful for my current VH and build i could see being used by another VH or build …some of them suck bad and some of them are broken OP as it should be

If ever blue gun with red text were OP then regular loot drops would be pointless.

The pipe bomb is the most powerful grenade in the game. it one shots bosses. it is bore 2.0 on a grenade.
it is from the side mission that you collect rocks.

No almost every quest item I used. the only one was probably the law that I didn’t touch. but every other was fun and had good stats and almost always better or really close to standard useful gear of that level esp the moxie guns.

so far I havent liked one and Im lvl25 flak. the stats ruin them bc theyre like a fraction of my other lvl guns and only good compared to 10lvls below me or worse
