If Gutting the Fun, means finding a way to fix it, so that characters aren’t cheesing Procs, then I’m not sure what to tell you.

There was nothing to fix.

Now without ASE elemental anoints I can’t get 25 stacks of Mindfulness from my Driver… literally the only reason to be using this class mod has been nerfed unnecessarily. There was nothing actually wrong with how ASE anoints worked with fakegrasp.

Man I just don’t get people that pop up like they won a war against a character they don’t main when a year old “exploit” gets nerfed. Sure Amara has a bunch of new ways to be OP. But personally I feel they are less fun. And every other VH has ways to “exploit” certain skills or synergies to basically one shot everything or be invincible. The only thing phakegrasping, or Fl4ks gamma were doing that was effecting other players was simply playing with a stronger teammate (and Amaras dot noise). Same with the projectile weapons (my game crashes still)

Jeezus when Moze got godly buffs, Zane got crazy buffs, Flaks new bot is insane, no one complains. But watch. When they nerf any of those builds down I’m sure there will be the same people popping up saying “it was broken” and “Stop cheesing and make a real build.”

I’m not sure if you’re trying to defend GB or you just can’t handle other ppl enjoying themselves and having fun. Really sounds like the latter.

I didn’t see anyone complaining when Zane was proccing all his kill skills. Or Moze basically not having to reload…

If it was so broken, why wait a year to fix it? And FFS half the player base plays solo.

lmao people have absolutely been complaining about all of these things, particularly people who actually play these characters. It’s okay if you don’t think those complaints are warranted or unnecessary, but they exist and aren’t hard to find.

With bug fixes, it’s not so much “waiting” and much more “we literally didn’t figure out how to fix it until recently.” Why did it take like 5 different patches to fix FL4K’s Headcount bug? It just did. :woman_shrugging: I wouldn’t read too much into the timing of individual fixes.

Anyway, I’m sorry the incomparable joy of mashing the Action Skill button while looking at the sky has been removed, but i’ll be honest: fakebursting felt like such clumsy, immersion-breaking garbage i can’t imagine anyone enjoying it, so the arguments for its “fun factor” come across as…difficult to take seriously. Maybe I’d feel differently if I played Amara, but it just seems like such a minor thing to get upset about.

This is why I quit playing BL3.

The constant, often capricious, severe nerfs.

Not even the day 1 onwards busted sh1t (glitches,bugs, crashes, etc, et al) was enough to get me to stop playing.

I play Amara a decent amount, and this is definitely a minor thing to get upset about. The multiple projectiles nerf/fix (depending on your perspective, I personally quite liked multiple projectiles because I love mah Jakobs, but I will admit the mechanic was game breaking) was arguably way, way more impactful on the game.

The removal of the Fakegrasp mechanic really only affects Amara. And she already has plenty of ways to proc ASE anointments really, really often.

And damn, has this thread totally derailed LOL.

@justinmalin77 Did you ever play multiplayer in the old ASE days with an ASE Fl4k or Amara using the Recursion? The Brainstormer? The Wedding Invitation?

If so, you should be able to answer your own question. If not, then that means you are asking a real and not a hypothetical/rhetorical question, which I assumed you were asking.

If you are asking a real question (like you didn’t play this game 6 months ago), just say so, and then I will be glad to answer you in not sarcastic detail.

Make the game about getting gear and not annointments and people would use action skills and grenades for their use instead of triggering annoints…

Totally fair; Zipping around the battlefield at full speed with Amara({spiritual driver build) was pure joy. Imo I really doubt they took a year to fix it, but I, nor anyone can verify that. And my favorite build (ricochet witch) is in fact weaker that the current phaseflare Amara builds. It was just WAY more fun. Again my opinion.

So when I jump on a thread another user created that agrees w me, its like salt on the wound that all these ppl feel the need to assert their “it’s broken” comments. In fact there are broken aspects all VH can exploit. And to take a fun one away from one or two VH only pisses those people off.

While your comment is fair, and not insulting, many aren’t.

@justinmalin77 The game slowdown/lag created by a Rakk build Fl4k or a Fakegrasp (or even - gasp! - real grasp) Amara using the Recursion would literally crash the games of all players in the lobby in a crowded mobbing area like the MTD or SS. Even playing solo, the game crashed frequently.

The game still crashes frequently. Improvement? LOL

Fear not, fellow Siren players. I knew even before I booted up the game the first time that our girl would always be the strongest, and she still is. TTB still wrecks M11, and we still have the Spiritual Driver and Cast250/Slam300 anoint. This space witch isn’t being dethroned anytime soon.

I’m late to this topic, but I literally went to update all my characters and she is still the one that punches the hardest when there is minions around.

You can’t get 25 stacks of Mindfulness without ASE element anoints. You are locked to 15 and can only get the extra 10 from taking enemies damage which is so pathetic you can barely keep an extra 5 on average.

This isn’t about whether or not the act of fakegrasp was strong, it’s about WHY it was removed when there wasn’t actually a problem to begin with. If there are way more powerful things out there, why even bother to “fix” something that was in the game over a year. There was no issue with leaving it in the game as it was. All they did by removing it is remove a few key components of some Amara builds (namely Driver) and just push everyone to the other equally overpowered things. Like why does it matter if I run around fakegrasping with Driver VS using Muse or some other build that is equally as powerful or more? What effect does it have on you if you don’t play Amara?

There was literally no reason to make this change other than “oh well it wasn’t intended to be that way a year ago” which is a completely ■■■■■■■■ reason to ruin this particular aspect of a character.

Whenever I was running around with Amara, I never noticed an increased amount of damage with the driver, I always used it for mobility. I wasn’t one shotting bosses with it, and my speed wasn’t crashing the game. I get that Fakegrasping shouldn’t trigger ASE anoints but if you take that away at least let the “Fakegrasp” build 25 stacks of Mindfulness.

Did anybody see last weeks Bordercast section of Hotfixes applied? I found it odd that an Amara and Flakk main, didn’t mention the removal of Fakebursting or Fakegrasping. I may have missed them talking about it, but they did speak extensively about nerfs in general…
