Health increase for carriers
Equalized hyperspace cost factor for Hiigaran/Vaygr Shipyards (longstanding HW2 issue)
HW2 Bombers have had their health adjusted upwards slightly
HW2 Destroyer Engine Subsystem size reduced

  • in a certain configuration, Hiigaran and Vaygr Destroyers in Broadside would absorb large amounts of damage via their engines

New ‘AI Only/Human Only/DoNotGrant’ research system implemented to allow the AI to use Heavy Vette Burst Attack/Missile Destroyer Missile Volley in normal firing rotation.

Corvette rebalance for all races

New strikecraft game mode

Hiigaran Battlecruiser attack style vs frigates fixed
Hiigaran AttackBomber max speed upgrade research price reduced
Hiigaran Assault Corvette health upgrade research price reduced
Hiigaran Destroyer max speed upgrade research price reduced
Hiigaran Battlecruiser Ion Cannon damage vs frigates adjusted
Hiigaran Assault Frigate speed upgrade, cost decrease
Hiigaran AttackBomber anti-subsystem range fixed

Gravwell behavior altered

  • 45 second duration
  • Self harms to slightly more than 1/2 during activation
  • Self destructs at 0 energy
  • No recharge
  • Can be turned on/off at any time
  • Turning off before self destruct allows it to remain a hyperspace inhibitor

Kushan Cloaked Fighters tuned down versus frigates, capitals and resourcers
Taiidan Defense Fighter guard distance lowered

  • they’ll stay closer to guarded ships
    Heavy Cruiser Ion vs Frigates lowered
    Kushan/Taiidan HeavyGuns research cost increased
    Research Hubs set to “Unattackable”
  • Research ships should now be friendlier as attack targets

Anyway looks great. Just wish I could find ppl to play this with.

AssaultFrigate is the internal name of the Flak Frigate.

Can you alter the starting fleets of the Rebalanced Mod to start with MS, carrier, collectors, resource controller, 5 squadrons of fighters & bombers, 3 squadrons of Corvettes, all the individual special corvettes, 2 of each frigate, 2 Destroyers and 1 Battlecruiser.

This way we can speed up the trials and feedbacks.

That might speed up testing out the individual ships against each other, but doesn’t seem too helpful for testing the balance of matches as a whole. You could probably make a minimod that adds a testing game mode for that, though.

I wouldn’t say that. As you go on using the starting fleet or part of it, you go on building your fleet as usual.

Just set all research completed and max RU. Then you can test all you want.

Possible feedback: Strikecraft & Support only does nothing to me, has no effect, doesn’t disable anything.

Yeah, it could be a game mode or game rule in a selection menu.

    -** No recharge** <-----------This is ultimately a huge mistake. Why nerf HW1 even more?!?! They are unplayable as it is. Grav wells were literally the only defence from HW2 strike craft striking early to mid game, and HW2 gets battlecruiser late game and HW1 can’t kill them at all. I’ve seriously lost hope in this game as you seem to have some pretty god damn weird ideas about balance.

Well no.
HW1 strikecraft spam is evil and very hard to deal with. And Flak Frigate is a shadow of what it usually is if you pit it against a swarm of single units.

On top of that the Grav well used to be evil on a whole new level at the release. A way for the HW1 player to completely nulify more than half of your fleet, to make it literally irelevant and a waste of RU.

Which are significantly nerfed in the Balance patch. Down to 170K worth of Health all the way from 240K. That’s a big difference. And no longer having tier 2 upgrades.
Plus one or two BCs die rather easily to Frigates now. If you don’t escort them you might as well just scuttle them yourself.
