nice job getting that new time! i recently brought my level 57 athena out of retirement and with the help of a friend i got to level 70, geared up and started going for this kill. so far, i can only get a 3:26.
also, maybe to improve your time during the EOS transition phases, try using hades shackles to keep your stacks. i can usually go into EOS’ next phase with about 300 stacks.
Thanks!
And ohhhh yeah… Hades shackle, huh? That one skill that I never bothered to use xP
I’ll give it a try. But if I’m to cut time in any way, that would be from Eclipse.
Also, thanks for trying and seeing how friggin’ difficult it is to get low time with Athena! If you need any help, please do let me know!
Actually, if you could record/tell me what you’re doing, I can take a look at your kill and show you areas of improvement!
Thanks again, dude! As of right now, a sizeable part of the game plan (the things i listed in ‘areas of improvement’ in OP) is RNG though, so I’m gonna try it with different characters, see how low I can get.
It’s going to take some good luck with Elemental Barrage because reloading kills momentum as you mentioned in your OP. Also, try activating Aspis as soon as you see the UBA and have your shotgun ready. You missed out on a couple of opportunities there and the one time you capitalized you hit 500+ stacks very quickly.
Yeah, I made some mistakes (3 times in a row) with UBA glitches… xP
well, i just kind of shoot him and swap alot. but i try to use skills like that as well as my shock slam on my o2 kit to maintain stacks. i also start the fight by throwing 2 storm fronts at him to help with my initial stacking. i also am thinking about trying to throw 2 more storm fronts when im at 999 stacks then swapping to a corrosive badaboom. the storm fronts should keep you above the crucial 700 stacks and corrosive should deal alot more damage. another thing you might want to try is using a torgue exhaust and maliwan sight on your badaboom. the damage from the torgue exhaust is a really nice damage increase and the maliwan sight counteracts the slow bullets.
Thanks for the tips on the badaboom parts.
I know throwing storm fronts in the beginning used to be a popular strategy when raiding (the lvl50 days) but man, does Eclipse move around a lot!! Thinking of it, if I can get him to stay still, maybe I won’t need my SMG at all, which would save a LOT of time.
I’ve already tried corrosive badaboom/pitchforks, but the thing is, the stacks decay way too fast and I find it easier to just gun them down with shock variants rather than having to use corrosive variants and finding an enemy to flash freeze at 700+ stacks.
usually i try to get him to stay in the center area. (bridge?) and i can usually get him to stay there. so, yeah.
crazy new time man! amazing work!
Thanks! I almost can’t believe it myself!
Wow, insane time! Congrats on the new record, seriously awesome work!
Thanks! Yeah, that was pretty insane time. 10 second save from the previous run (from which I thought I couldn’t get any lower)? That’s really something.

xD
I’d love to see people try to beat this time!
(actually, I know for a fact that there is a way to get around 7 seconds off further with Nisha, but that needs testing. But the first step of everything is thought experiment - and if my calculations are right, with right RNG you actually CAN beat this time, though no one has done so yet)
And you were a huge help to reaching this incredible time too!
That was very clever use of yellow glitch against Eclipse. I hadn’t thought of starting the fight like that. And you nailed the Superconductor stack against the UBA. It was very exciting to watch. I was watching your stack count and your transitions to Closer were perfectly timed to hit max cap. I’m curious why anyone took issue with use of rocket launchers on Athena. Maybe there is a time difference between Flakker and Badaboom but I could never tell.
dat flakker use though. love that gun when you are shooting at building sized targets.
i’ll give it a try to get a faster time but i can only record on my 6 year old ipod. so if i did, it would be terrible recording.
BTW i have killed EOS and eclipse with nisha in 2 minutes and 31 seconds legit but dont have a recording.
Really, it’s not about quality - it’s about the plan and the execution! I’ll be looking forward to it!
i might try a recording out, i’ll see. just as a timing question, when should the clock start? when his health bar appears or when i first damage him?
In the 3:01 video, this guy was saying stuff like “Time Trials prohibits rocket launcher spamming” or something like that and I asked him to provide this so-called “time trials” (which I don’t think exists in TPS just due to how few bosses there are) but he didn’t. Whatever. I just decided to test ALL dem weapons (mongol was REALLY good, but it was laggy as hell - if I could resolve that, I can get 2:50) and you know what? Flakker turned out to be good, so I used that.
And about the yellow glitch, that saved a LOT of time, and it’s mostly thanks to you. You said something about starting the fight with the stacker, skipping the SMG entirely, and with the tip of kansas (start throwing storm fronts at the boss to stack to ~300 quickly), I was able to bypass the SMG, stack even faster and quicker, and of course, yellow glitch not only provides faster fire rate (even faster stacking) but also reduced ammo consumption! So that really fit in perfectly well.
I time my runs the moment I pass the shield thing at the entrance. You’ll need to move your video frame by frame to find the exact moment the shield “disappears” from your screen (since you passed it).
Also, about your 2:31 Nisha kill, did it involve spamming Eclipse with Quad and spamming EOS with a pistol?
